Abstract

Bali is one island in Indonesia that holds a lot of evidence remains megalitik.Salah tradition of the evidence of the megalithic tradition in Bali is found in the village of Keramas, Blahbatuh, Gianyar. The objects are mostly stored in the form of several temples except the remains of a sarcophagus that is now stored in the Institute for Preservation of Cultural Heritage (BPCB) Bali, NTB, NTT. The first researct ini Keramas village was did by the survey team of the Archeological Research center and National Heritage Jakarta on 25 March 1976 led by Ismanto Kosasih, SA. The team initially examined the sarcophagus was found by villagers shampooing when making foundation Keramas village hall in 1975.research has the objective to determine the type, function and meaning of the remains of the megalithic tradition in the village of Keramas, Blahbatuh, Gianyar. The theory used in this research is the theory of structural functionalism and theory of semiotics. The method used in this study, the data collection phase is done by observation, interview and literature study, then the second stage of data processing by analyzing data using morphological analysis techniques, stylistic analysis and comparative analysis. From the analysis it can be concluded that the remains of the megalithic tradition in Keramas village is divided into several types, including simple statues, animal statues, statues patterned megalithic stone mortar, sarcophagus and menhirs. Function remains of the megalithic tradition in the village of Keramas as media homage to the ancestors is shown in statues simple Besakih, the statue of Lord-goddess in the temple Sekah, statues patterned megalithic in Pura Pasek Ngukuhin and sarcophagus found in the village of Keramas but the sarcophagus is profane or no longer functioned. Megalithic remains at Keramas village which has a function as a symbol of fertility, among others, stone mortars in Sedaan Purwa, Arca animals Bawi Siati and menhirs in Besakih is a symbol of fertility and media worship of the Goddess of Earth and Gods Wisnu.Tinggalan megalithic tradition in the village of Keramas has meaning fertility and religious significance.

Abstract

In the 10th century, Sangsit Harbor had been functioned as a trading harbor. It is based on the research done by archaeology Center in 1998, in the form of ceramic findings dated from Sung Dynasty (10th-13th century) and Ming Dynasty (16th-18th). Sangsit Harbor gave opportunities for both local and foreign trader to seek a better life and made it heterogeneous urban areas. During the Dutch Government, the Harbor Sangsit had ability to do import and export trade that was support by several factors and made it became the center of trading in 19th century in Bali. This study aims to identify development factors and the role of the Harbor Sangsit during the Dutch Colonial Government to the 19th century. The theories used in this research are port development theory, international trade theory, and the theory of structural-functional. This qualitative research using data collection methods such as literature study, observation, and interviews. The results obtained are factors of development of the Harbor Sangsit that made it as trading center in Bali. In 19th century these factors are factor of geographic, socio economic, culture, and politic. Through these factors, the contributions of Harbor Sangsit for the society could be known. The contribution are in the fields of economic, politic, and socioculture.

Abstract

Buni site is one of the prehistoric relics in Bekasi Regency which has an important role for the development of history in the northern part of Java Island.There are several potential archeological remains at the Buni Site in the form of metal artifacts, stone axes, gold jewelery, beads, earthenware and conch shells. The existence of modern development around the Buni Site makes the Buni Site threatened its preservation. There are two modern developments flanking the Buni Site, which is a ship factory managed by PT. Tesco Indomaritim and PLTU (Steam Power Plant) managed by PT. Cikarang Listrikindo. This study aims to address the formulation of the problem the impact of modern development on the existence of the Buni Site and conservation efforts at the Buni Site. This study use the Archeology Resource Management theory. Data collection methods used were observation, literature study, and interviews. Data analysis techniques used ware qualitative and SWOT. There are two impacts given by modern development on the Buni Site. First, the damage and lost of the Buni site, the lost of the site area has made the Buni site narrow and lost the findings that have the potential to be left behind in the area of ??the ship factory and the power plant. Secondly, Muara Bakti Village, where Buni Site is located, is no longer known by the wider community as the Archaeological Site. Buni site is currently not used as a cultural heritage site, which can affect its preservation. Development of the Buni Site area as a tourist attraction, in the form of the Buni Cultural Museum can help preserve the Buni Site from damage.

Abstract

Bengkala Inscription is one of the inscriptions which is located in Pekraman Village of Bengkala, Kubutambahan District, Buleleng Regency. The inscription was issued in 1103 Saka (1181 AD) by Paduka Haji Jayapangus Arkajacihna, one of the Ancient Balinese King, and his two empress, namely Parameswari Indujaketana and Mahadewi Sasangkajacihna. This research aims to understand various aspects of Bengkala Inscription, such as its language and its social instituition described there. Data were collected from observation and literature study. The data were analyzed using morphology and qualitative analysis, and various theories, such as structuralism, structural functionalism, and bureaucracy theory. Based on the analysis of palaeography and language aspects, Bengkala inscription used Ancient Javanese letter and Ancient Javanese language for most of its content, similar to other inscriptions issued between 11th-12th Century. The spelling of Bengkala Inscription were used commonly in the previous period. The type of affixation used in the inscription are para-, pari-, pa-, a-/ma-, ka-, di-, sa (prefix), -in-, -um- (infix), -an, --an, -?n, -nya (suffix), pa- + -an, ma- + -an, ka- + -an, pa- + -nya (circumfix). In the social institution mentioned in Bengkala inscription, there was government bureaucracy institution and the highest of its hierarchy owned by king. Economy institution in Bengkala inscription could be seen through the mentions of market trade system and the existence of tax levy and tax relief. Regarding to religion institution, there were two religions, developed in the past period, namely Siwa and Buddha, which could be seen through the mentions of their religious title.

Abstract

Background of this research is Kertagosa Site as object of research is complex of ancient building relics of kingdom of Klungkung, consist of two main building that is Taman Gili and Kertagosa. Both buildings were established during the reign of King I Dewa Agung Djambe at the end of the XVII century which is part of the building of Puri Semarapura in Klungkung. Archaeological remains contained on the Kertagosa Site include two main buildings, ancient statues and gate. This study aims to maximize the management of the site and maximize the potential and supporting factors owned Kertagosa Site. This research uses structural functional theory and cultural resource management theory. The method used is the method of observation, literature study, and interview. Data analysis techniques used are qualitative analysis and SWOT analysis.These potentials Kertagosa Sites include; Tangible and intangible. The tangible potential includes two main buildings; Ancient statues, and temple bentar. The intangible potential includes important values of Kertagosa Sites. External factors of the site is an attraction that is located around the site. Utilization of all these potentials can boost the attractiveness of Kertagosa Sites. Determining the right effort by applying the 5P guidelines (planning, organizing, directing, implementing and controlling) is a great step in maximizing site management. Improving the quality of human resources, adding facilities and infrastructure, promoting promotion, and site structuring efforts will enhance the attractiveness of Kertagosa Sites as a tourist attraction.

Abstract

Wasan temple site is one of the Hindu temple located in Banjar Blahtanah, Batuan Kaler Village, Sukawati District, Gianyar Regency. Wasan temple site has been redeveloped as many as three stages of the year 2009-2011 by Balai Pelestarian Cagar Budaya Bali, NTB, and NTT. Based on the shape of the post-restoration, most likely if Wasan temple can be developed as a tourist attraction. Therefore, the purpose of the study is to examine the potential temple sites and forms management Wasan temple site after the restoration in an attempt to improve community-based cultural tourism. Data collection methods used in this study, observation, library research and interviews as well as methods of data analysis through qualitative analysis and SWOT analysis by applying management theory. Wasan temple site has archaeological potential, among which a monumental temple, Ganesha statues, animal statues, temple building components, and a pool. Moreover, Wasan temple site also has a supporting factor natural resources Kemenuh Butterfly Park and some cultural resources, namely sophisticated temple, Pura Hyang Tiba, Pura Puseh Blahbatuh, egg painting and sculpture. In developing as a tourist attraction, the need for forms of management of planning, organizing, directing, actuating and controlling carried out by pemangku, pengemong and stakeholders. In addition to a management regime in its development also need to consider the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats owned Wasan temple site. In addition, community participation is also very necessary to pass up promotions through tour travel and the internet.

Abstract

A professional tour guide is regarded as a front-liner of the tourism and the ambassador of his/her country. Therefore, the performance of a tour guide is very important as a quality assurance of services in order to fulfil the tourists’ satisfaction. This study aims at investigating the mastery level of the tour guide’s Russian language related to the quality assurance of uniform services in meeting the tourists’ satisfaction. By applying a descriptive qualitative research, the data was collected through observation, interview, and document review. The theory used to undertake this study is communicative competence (grammar, sociolinguistics, and communicative strategic). The study reveals that the mastery of Russian language for a professional tour guide has been proven to meet the expectation of Russian tourists to get the excellent service as a quality assurance to provide the tourist satisfaction so that products prepared by travel agents and purchased by the tourist are carried out properly.

Abstract

This study aims at finding the management of cultural heritages which are publically utilized. The locations of the study are Pegulingan temple, TirtaEmpul temple, Mengening temple, GunungKawi temple, and Goa Gajah. There are two stages of method applied in the study. The first, method and technic of collecting data (observation, interview and library study); the second isthe method ofqualitative data analysis. The results of the study show that the management applied to the five cultural heritages is the combination of management between the government (the District of Gianyar and BPCB Bali) and the local people. The involvement of the local people shows the application of the concept of CRM in which the people are benefited by the existence the archeological sites around their residences.

Abstract

Bentuk pakaian yang digunakan pada masa Jawa Kuno adalah selembar kain utuh yang dililitkan ke tubuh. Kain ken adalah kain yang digunakan oleh kaum perempuan pada masa Jawa Kuno. Keberadaan kain ken dapat ditelusuri melalui prasasti sīma. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif dan interpresati data. Prasasti yang digunakan sudah pernah diterjemahkan kemudian diinterpretasi. Penyebutan kain ken dalam prasasti sīma mirip seperti penyebutan kain wḍihan (kain untuk kaum laki-laki). Kain ken disebutkan pada bagian pemberian pasék kepada para pejabat dan tamu undangan. Keberadaan kain ken dapat memberikan informasi strata sosial kaum perempuan yang menerima pasék. Kaum perempuan yang menerima pasék kain ken meliputi istri raja, ibu dari seorang rakai, istri pejabat kerajaan, istri, dan pejabat daerah. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kain ken mampu memberikan gambaran kedudukan seseorang dalam sebuah pemerintahan dan strata sosial dari pejabat tinggi hingga pejabat daerah.
