Abstract

The curriculum is an important element in education and the basic framework is also an indicator of the progress of education. So important was the curriculum that the Government continuously continued to make curriculum changes from 1975 to the present. Therefore every educational institution must have a curriculum including LAIN IAIN as one of the Universities that produce prospective educators especially mathematics teachers at the level of junior and senior high school education units in Langsa city. But in reality, there are a lot of PMA Study Program alumni who work not following their scientific fields. The purpose of this study was to determine the design of PMA Study Program curriculum in meeting the needs of the labour market for alumni. This study uses discrepancy evaluation models (DEM). The results showed that stakeholders considered that a portion of PMA Study Program alumni was less competent at work. so it is necessary to do a curriculum change, especially in the distribution of subjects by taking into account the curriculum needs of the school level and the job market.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 outbreak spread globally, learning in schools is also done online or online. Thisis to reduce the spread of the corona virus among students. The purpose of this study analyzesvarious problems and online learning that takes place today during the Covid-19 pandemic in termsof teachers, student side and parent side. This type of research is qualitative. The study subjects werenine people consisting of three teachers, three students and three parents of students. The datacollection techniques in this study are interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques inthis study consist of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion withdrawal. The results of thisstudy are online learning problems that are reviewed from the teacher's side, namely the limitedability of IT teachers in using various applications such as Zoom, Google meet and google classroomin the online learning process. While the problem experienced by students is the need for internetquotas that are considered expensive, the material is felt difficult and not understood by students andstudents are not focused on learning. While the obstacle of parents is the concern about the child'slearning interest during online learning is greatly decreased, children are lazier to learn andchildren's morals are also getting worse.

Abstract

For students to be able to think critically and cognitively, it needs to be stimulated with the right approach so that they can meet the goals that they want to achieve in learning. The purpose of this research is to describe the application of an open-ended approach to math lessons and describe students' learning activities. This type of research is by class action research, the instruments used are observation sheets and test learning results. The results showed that an open-ended approach could be applied to high-graders with attention to student characteristics. Students' learning activities are also getting better and more active during the learning. While the learning outcomes are also improving. So this open-ended approach can be applied by teachers, especially in math lessons.

Abstract

Tajweed is the science of reading the Qur'an, which is urgently taught to students to avoid mistakes when reading or reciting it. However, learning tajweed is quite complicated. Game-based learning media are very suitable for development, especially for students at the concrete operational stage, to facilitate understanding of tajwid. Therefore, this study was conducted to develop Ludo Lintas Tajweed (Lolita) using the Hannafin and Peck model, which consists of three phases: analysis, design, and development/implementation. The model also emphasizes an iterative approach, which is essential to ensure that the product or program developed meets users' needs and effectively achieves them. Descriptive analysis was conducted to describe each phase of media development, while percentage analysis was carried out to analyze the media validation from the subject experts and students' responses. The results showed that the development process of Lolita, a game-based learning media, has been in accordance with the Hannafin and Peck phase and is feasible to develop with media validation (88%), content validation (90.7%), language validation (80%), small group validation (100%), and large group validation (98.5%).

Abstract

Science learning in elementary schools often remains conceptual and lacks a connection between scientific knowledge and students’ local cultural contexts. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the Seuramoe Saentia learning model, grounded in the local culture of Geulayang Maco (Acehnese traditional kite), in improving students’ understanding of force and motion concepts in Grade IV of MIS Gampong Meutia. The research employed a quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The subjects consisted of 33 students, and data were collected through observation sheets and five-item essay tests administered before and after the learning intervention. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and normalised gain (N-Gain) to measure improvement. The results revealed an average N-Gain score of 0.69 (medium–high category), indicating that learning through the Geulayang Maco context effectively enhanced conceptual understanding of force and motion. The most dominant student activities occurred during the exploration and artefact creation stages, reflecting active engagement in linking cultural practices with scientific concepts. The findings imply that the insertion of local wisdom into science education is essential to strengthen scientific literacy, cultural character, and the contextual relevance of science learning in students’ daily lives

Abstract

Teachers should be skilled in using basic teaching skills. Because these teaching skills will be able to stimulate student learning activities. However, mastering these basic teaching skills is still a common problem that is often encountered in the teaching and learning process. Departing from these problems, the purpose of this study is to reveal how teachers manage their teaching skills in the classroom and what impact they have on student learning activities at TPA Nurul A'la. The researcher used a qualitative approach. Participatory observation was used as a data collection tool. The findings in the field show that teachers have implemented the eight basic teaching skills well, and student learning activities are also very varied, the dominant activities seen are reading, listening, mental, drawing, and metric activities. So, it can be very urgent for teachers to implement these eight teaching skills in the classroom. It will have a direct effect on student learning activities. And the next influence is certainly on the learning outcomes that are increasing.

Abstract

Learning Islamic values for Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) students or Elementary School (SD) children presents challenges in conveying abstract moral and spiritual concepts, considering that children's cognitive abilities are at the concrete operational stage. The primary challenge is to effectively internalise Qur'anic values so that they can be understood, internalised, and practised in everyday life. This article aims to explore the effectiveness of learning based on Qur'anic stories as a pedagogical strategy that is appropriate to children's developmental characteristics. The research uses a qualitative approach with literature study methods. The results of the study show that Qur'anic stories have strong potential in forming noble morals, because they present characters, event plots, conflicts and resolutions that are concrete, so that it makes it easier for children to interpret abstract values. In addition, the integration of stories with creative methods such as role playing, drawing, and group discussions increases students' emotional engagement and conceptual understanding. This research recommends that MI/SD teachers develop interactive Qur'anic story-based learning models, use visual and audio media to strengthen the learning experience, and carry out ongoing assessments of the application of values in student behaviour. This approach is believed to be able to shape Islamic character from an early age and provide a strong foundation for the younger generation in facing the challenges of the times.
