Abstract

The use of one type live food in the larval rearing of vannamei shrimp is insufficient for maximum larval development. This research was aimed to evaluate the use of phytoplankton Chaetoceros calcitrans and Thalassiosira weissflogii and its combination as food to the growth and survivorship of white pacific shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei. The research used prawn larvae at stadia Nauplius4-5 with 150/ litre larval density. The larvae were fed and their effects with 3 kinds of live food, C. calcitrans (A), T. weissflogii (B), and combination of both types (C) for each treatment with five replications. The data was analysed using SPSSV.16. Result showed that the survival rate for treatment A was of 55.04+11.81%, treatment B was of 68.22+6.80%, and treatment C was of 77.04+4.63%. This indicated that treatment A gave significantly different on survival rate (P<0.01) than treatment B and C. Treatment B and C were not significantly different (P>0.05). We recomended the use of combination both of C. calcitrans and T. weisflogii to provide maximum survival rate for vannamei shrimp postlarvae.

Abstract

Sangkuriang catfish is a freshwater consumption fish that has a pretty good profit. The application of biofloc technology in catfish farming increases the cost of feed up to 300 (20% of the total production cost, and my jugaldenaku)). The purpose of the study was to determine the application of interventions and measurement of aquaculture performance. FCR 0.8 and SR 88.3%. The application of intervention by grading began at Daily of Culture (DOC) 35 then every 2 weeks until harvest. The percentage of oversized harvest size in non-intervention ponds was 28.9% while in intervention pools 5.3% income loss can be increased from 1,036,600 IDR to only 78,000 IDR.

Abstract

Shrimp is a fishery commodity that has high economic value and is an upstream-to-downstream industry. The current problem is the hesitation of farmers and shrimp farming entrepreneurs to develop shrimp farming in ponds. The purpose of this study was to compare the production and financial aspects of Pacific White Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) cultivation in the intensive pond system industry in Indonesia. The data collection method is a field survey. The data analysis method is descriptive and quantitative. Data processing tools used Microsoft Excel and SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solutions).   The research locations are the shrimp farming industry AM Bangka, SUN Bengkalis, AN Probolinggo, MCS Yogjakarta, and UK Pandeglang. The results showed that the productivity of 18,540-38,498 kg. Ha-1 per cycle, survival rate (SR) 68 -99%, and feed conversion ratio (FCR) 1.05-1.98. Financial analysis R/C ratio 1.04-1.78, and payback period 1 year 28 days - 2 years 9 months. The cost of goods sold per kg of shrimp was US $0.87 to US $3.82.  The prospect of intensive Vaname shrimp farming industry in Indonesia has a good prospect by doing efficiency and effectiveness of production costs.
