Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics of existing conditions, the perceptions of respondents of parking users, and the need for parking space based on the highest accumulation rate. Methods of data collection are done by a direct survey to the field to record the number and time of the vehicle when entering and exiting and survey the perception of respondents parking users by using questionnaires. The result of data analysis shows that the average daily vehicle volume is 2649 with the highest average accumulation is 639. Average vehicle duration per day is 1.65 vehicles/hour, average parking turn over value of 6 and parking index of 1.48%, this means that on average per day only 6 vehicles alternately occupy 1 parking space. Low parking turnover is due to the very high vehicle volume with a long parking duration but parking space available is very less ie as many as 432 parking spaces, so that the impact on over-capacity parking that can be seen from the high number of parking accumulation that occurred at the peak hour is at 12:30 to 13:00 pm. Of 313 respondents of parking users who responded to 16 parameters about the characteristics of parking lots, 5% stated very worthy, 23% stated feasible, 57% said it was not feasible, 11% expressed bad, and 5% said very badly. The model of parking space needs shows the relationship between vehicle volume and accumulation of R = 0,67 with the modely = 0,06972x + 454,07, Capacity and accumulation of R = 0,62,with the model y = 0,0696x + 454,07, Duration and accumulation of R = 0,60 with the model y = -91,72x + 789,49.

Abstract

The present study aims to investigate the characteristics of motorcyclist in Makassar City, Indonesia, as well as to analyze the motorcyclist’s preference in utilizing helmet SNI for both sides, policy and comfortability. The study conducted data collection in a primary arterial road in the city using interview survey method based on a questionnaire instrument. We adopted statistically descriptive, and multi-nomial logit model approach in order to assess the significant level of the motorcyclist characteristics on their preferences in using helmet SNI. The results show that age and education of the motorcyclists have become two significant variable which influence their preference, not only for policy, but also for comfortability in utilizing the helmet. The results provide a basic information which useful in deriving a policy on traffic management measures for motorcyclist in Makassar City, and generally in Indonesia. Studi bertujuan menginvestigasi karakteristik pengendara sepeda motor di Kota Makassar dan menganalisis preferensinya terhadap penggunaan Helm SNI, baik dari sisi kebijakan maupun dari sisi kenyamanannya. Pengumpulan data dilakukan di salah satu ruas jalan arteri utama di di Kota Makassar dengan menggunakan metode survei wawancara berbasis instrument kuesioner. Pendekatan analisis data statistik deskriptif dan lebih jauh mengadopsi pendekatan model multi-nomial logit untuk menilai sejauhmana signifikansi karakteristik pengendara sepeda motor terhadap preferensinya dalam penggunaan Helm SNI. Hasil-hasil analisis memperlihatkan bahwa karakteristik umur dan pendidikan merupakan dua variabel yang cukup signifikan mempengaruhi preferensi pengendara sepeda motor dalam aspek kebijakan dan kenyaman penggunaan Helm SNI. Hasil ini menjadi informasi dan dasar yang cukup penting dalam perumusan upaya-upaya pendekatan yang dapat dilakukan terhadap pengguna sepeda motor, baik berupa upaya memassifkan penggunaan Helm SNI di masyarakat, maupun upaya untuk implementasi berbagai aturan tertib berlalu lintas lainnya di Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the characteristics of motorcyclists in the city of Makassar and analyze its preference for the policy of prohibiting the use of mobile phones when driving. Data collection was carried out on an arterial road segment in Makassar City using an interview survey method based on questionnaire instruments. The descriptive statistical data analysis approach was conducted to see the significance of the characteristics of motorbike riders against their preferences related to the policy of prohibiting the use of mobile phones when driving. The results of the analysis show that age and education characteristics are two variables that significantly influence motorbike riders' preferences regarding the policy of prohibiting the use of mobile phones when driving. This result is an important information and basis in formulating approach efforts that can be done in terms of strategies for implementing the policy of prohibiting the use of mobile phones when driving in order to improve traffic safety in Indonesia. Pengumpulan data dilakukan di suatu ruas jalan arteri di di Kota Makassar dengan menggunakan metode survei wawancara berbasis instrument kuesioner. Pendekatan analisis data statistika deskriptif dilakukan untuk melihat signifikansi karakteristik pengendara sepeda motor terhadap preferensinya terkait dengan kebijakan larangan penggunaan handphone saat berkendara. Hasil-hasil analisis memperlihatkan bahwa karakteristik umur dan pendidikan merupakan dua variabel yang secara signifikan mempengaruhi preferensi pengendara sepeda motor terkait kebijakan larangan penggunaan handphone saat berkendara. Hasil ini menjadi informasi dan dasar yang penting dalam perumusan upaya-upaya pendekatan yang dapat dilakukan dalam hal strategi implementasi kebijakan larangan penggunaan handphone saat berkendara dalam rangka meningkatkan keselamatan berlalu lintas di Indonesia.

Abstract

Pola pergerakan dalam sistem transportasi sering dijelaskan dalam bentuk arus pergerakan (kendaraan, penumpang, dan barang) yang bergerak dari zona asal ke zona tujuan di dalam daerah tertentu dan selama periode waktu tertentu. Permintaan akan kebutuhan perjalanan ini sangat penting untuk keperluan perencanaan baik sarana dan prasarana khususnya transportasi. Angkutan umum menjadi salah satu moda transportasi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan perjalanan penumpang. Sebaran pergerakan perjalanan angkutan umum menjadi sangat penting untuk melihat distribusi pembebanan angkutan umum pada seluruh trayek yang ada. Distribusi pergerakan ini dapat dibuat dalam simulasi program Visumm yang memuat informasi bangkitan dan tarikan dari penumpang. Sosialisasi bagi pemangku kepentingan terkait dapat menjadi sangat bermanfaat dalam merancang dan merencanakan tatanan transportasi lokal. Kegiatan sosialisasi dengan pelatihan secara langsung ini diharapkan dapat memberikan gambaran secara visual dan menghasilkan proyeksi pola perjalanan penumpang dan kendaraan berdasarkan matriks asal dan tujuan dengan waktu yang lebih efisien. Sosialisasi aplikasi program visum ini juga diharapkan dapat memberikan pendekatan alternatif terkait model makroskopik dalam mengembangkan rencana jaringan jalan transportasi khususnya bagi pemangku kepentingan perencana transportasi di Kota Makassar.

Abstract

Transportation problems have an important role due to population and economic growth. The population of that simultaneity with the vehicle growth factor without the inadequate facilities is one of the factors that contribute to the traffic problems. The mitigation is needed to prevent other transportation problems. Makassar is one of the Metropolitan City has a vehicle’s growth factor 13-14 percent every year for motorcycle and 8 – 10 percent for every year; due to this condition, the critical networks frequently saw in the road would be disrupted. The level of service (LOS) of road decreased. The information about the LOS basically formulated by the Indonesia Highway Capacity Manual (IHCM) as guidance needs basic survey data such as vehicle volume, speed gun test result, geometric condition, and others as supporting data. Basically, the manual calculation using ICHM can be formulated with effective and efficient using application ZIN. The application of ZIN as one of the planning management to find the more efficient for more road network, especially for Makassar.

Abstract

The technology of transportation is able to support the performance and optimization in unraveling congestion problems. Transportation problems with complexity due to economic growth will require supporting facilities with transportation access. The road network is needed to be able to connect the location from origin to destination arising from generation and attraction. The movement of the trip is affecting the traffic arround. One of anticipation process is developing areas with a study on traffic impact analysis (andallin). Andalallin which is specific study assessing the impact caused by the generation or attraction of an area, potential hazards and accidents, and recommendations related to efforts to deal with impacts on development plans. Every plan for the development of activity centers, settlements, and infrastructure that will cause disturbances in security, safety, order, and smooth traffic and road transportation must be carried out with a Andalallin. Andalalin is able to calculate the trip generation that requires traffic engineering and traffic management to overcome the impact. The existence of a certain area/activity development is part of the transportation system that will create travel potential on building construction. This provides the influence or impact on the surrounding traffic conditions. Visualization for the condition of the road network in 3D through the Vissim program is usually used, the level of road service also shown on the program by entering the parameters from the road geometric condition survey. This traffic simulation is then very important to the stakeholder of transportation caused showing the condition that similar to the real situation with simulation. One of the implementation of Andalallin is traffic management for the construction plan of Bone Tower building in Bone Regency, South Sulawesi.

Abstract

The analysis concept of transportation demand is using the trip and activity-based approach. Transportation planning is not only concerned about the trip demand of the commuters but also non-commuters such as leisure trips. Lego-Lego is one of the famous relaxation activity places in Makassar that support leisure trips. Lego-Lego is the only multipurpose relaxation facility provided by the government. Numerous people are visiting the Lego-Lego, especially in the weekend in the morning and afternoon. The long line of vehicles is often at the entrance and exit way of Lego-Lego due to the increase of visitors. The high demand to the place is important to overview the pattern of activities while use the facilities for expanding and developing the tourist area and reduce the traffic problems. According to the trip pattern and activities of visitors, this study aims to describes the visitors background, trip pattern and activities of people at Lego-Lego. This study used descriptive analysis and 1218 of total respondents. The result showed that the trip pattern of visitors using facilities as much as 88 patterns in the morning and 77 in the noon. Majority respondent’s pattern is “parking – rest area – parking” or about 17.08% in the morning and “parking – courtyard – rest area – parking” or about 13.87% in the noon. The trip pattern using facilities for morning and noon are quite different and low corellation. Hence, the corellation value shown 0,427 with not significantly affected the trip pattern and time period activities. In addition, the facilities with the most used were rest area and courtyard.

Abstract

The New Bendar 45 area in Manado - North Sulawesi is a shopping and office center that provides territories or spaces for pedestrians. This research, therefore, aims to determine the dimensions of the pedestrian's personal territory by observing their behaviors at the location in the morning, afternoon, and evening with the use of video and photo cameras. Person-centered Mapping technique was used for the analysis with the help of AutoCAD program. There are 17 dimensions of pedestrian's personal territories found, each with varying behavioral characteristics. These results are therefore useful as a reference when planning the pedestrian space requirements in the urban areas.

Abstract

Indonesia sebagai negara kepulauan memiliki potensi besar dalam peningkatan perekonomian karena letaknya yang strategis di persilangan jalur perdagangan internasional, sehingga peranan pelabuhan sangat vital. Kehadiran pelabuhan yang memadai berperan besar dalam menunjang mobilitas barang dan manusia. Pelabuhan menjadi sarana penting untuk menghubungkan antar pulau ataupun antar negara. Pembenahan dan perhatian khusus untuk infrastruktur transportasi di Indonesia masih dibutuhkan. Selain jumlah yang masih kurang memadai, begitu juga dengan aspek kualitas pelayanan prasarana dan infrastruktur masih cukup memprihatinkan. Untuk itu dibutuhkan upaya dan kiat-kiat khusus pada penyelamatan infrastruktur dan prasarana transportasi, sehingga eksistensinya dapat memberikan manfaat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa faktor-faktor peningkatan kepuasan pelanggan dan kualitas layanan pada proses stevedoring, saat kegiatan membongkar barang dari kapal ke dermaga, atau sebaliknya memuat dari dermaga ke kapal. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada kepuasan pelanggan dan kualitas layanan di terminal peti kemas. Metode yang digunakan untuk melihat faktor-faktor tersebut adalah Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). Hasil yang diharapkan adalah menemukan faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kepuasan pelanggan dan kualitas layanan pada proses stevedoring di terminal peti kemas.Kata kunci: stevedoring, terminal peti kemas, kepuasan pelanggan, kualitas layanan.
