Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the growth and survival rates of goldfish (Carassius auratus) with different sources in semi outdoor space. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 3 (three) treatments namely Treatment A (Kali Bungi Spring), Treatment B (La Sura Spring), and Treatment C (Uwe Balanga Spring). Each treatment was repeated three times so that there were 9 units. Each treatment consisted of 5 goldfish. The parameters observed were absolute weight gain, specific growth rate, survival rate, feed conversion ratio, and water quality measurements. Based on the results of the research and discussion above, it can be concluded that rearing goldfish (Carassius auratus) in semi-open spaces has a significant effect on absolute growth, but has no significant effect on specific growth rate and feed conversion and survival. Water quality parameters in three springs are still in the proper category to support the cultivation of goldfish (Carrasius auratus). Keywords : Growth, survival rate, Springs, Goldfish Chef.

Abstract

The cultivation of catfish Clarias gariepinus is very promising to be developed in Baubau City. However, the practice of catfish culture by farmers is still conventional, and the impact on catfish production results obtained by fish farmers is relatively low. The strategy is to develop intensive catfish culture using biofloc technology. This community service activity aims to provide farmers with knowledge regarding intensive catfish farming using the biofloc system. The method of this program is carried out using socialization of the program and the practice of catfish culture using the biofloc system. This activity results in farmers creating biofloc ponds, culture flocks, calculating carbon requirements, managing water quality, feed management, and disease control.

Abstract

Seaweed cultivation currently uses the longline method. In practice, the longline method demands significant effort, leading to a greater male dominance in the cultivation process. This community service activity offers the most effective approach to enhancing the involvement of women in seaweed cultivation. We carried out this community service activity in one of the cultivation areas in North Buton Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. Seaweed farmers received training and assistance to implement horizontal nets. Twenty female seaweed farmers and 20 male farmers participated in the training. During the training activities, women play a significant role by performing practical tasks such as creating, cultivating, and maintaining horizontal net tools used in seaweed cultivation. At the field implementation level, women play a greater role in operating and maintaining horizontal nets. This community service activity has instilled new hope in expanding the availability of seaweed seed gardens and enhancing the role of women, thereby potentially increasing the income of female seaweed farmers.

Abstract

Seaweed cultivation is an important activity in most coastal villages in Indonesia. Seaweed farming is mainly carried out by men, as longline fishing requires a lot of energy and can only be done by men. Women only help with small tasks such as tying and drying the seaweed. One of the most serious problems facing seaweed farmers is the presence of fish pests that attack the algae. This non-profit initiative aims to introduce innovations in seaweed farming to increase seaweed production and strengthen the role of women in seaweed farming. The horizontal net innovation prevents fish pests from attacking the seaweed during cultivation. This charity activity was carried out in one of the coastal villages in Eleke District, North Buton Local Government Area. This charity activity was carried out through training and operational support in the use of horizontal network devices. During the activity, it was noticed that residents, especially women, participated in the training with great enthusiasm. The activity was attended by 20 mothers representing seaweed farmers in the Ereke Local Government Area. This activity will lead to improved knowledge and skills in horizontal network management, especially women empowerment. It has been made easier for women seaweed farmers to design materials and produce horizontal nets directly. This horizontal net tool is very user-friendly and hassle-free to use.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the growth and survival rates of goldfish (Carassius auratus) with different spring water sources in semi outdoor space. The tools and materials used were 9 aquariums with a size of 40 cm x 25 cm x 25 cm with a volume of 20 L of water, and 45 goldfish measuring 5-7 cm. The design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 3 (three) treatments namely Treatment A (Spring Water Sources of Kali Bungi), Treatment B (Spring Water Sources of La Sura), and Treatment C (Spring Water Sources of Uwe Balanga). Each treatment was repeated three times so that there were 9 units. Each treatment consisted of 5 goldfish. The parameters observed were absolute weight growth, specific growth rate, survival rate, feed conversion ratio, and water quality measurements. Based on the results of the study rearing goldfish (Carassius auratus) in semi-open space the absolute weight growth in the spring water source treatment was highest in the treatment (Uwe Balanga) of 12.27 ± 0.12 g (p <0.05), the specific growth rate of the treatment the best spring water source in the treatment (Uwe Balanga) was 2.77 ± 0.10 %/day (p> 0.05), the feed conversion for the best spring water source treatment (Kali Bungi) was 4.30 ± 0.20 ( p>0.05), the survival rate of different spring water sources treatment was 100 ± 0.00% (p>0.05). Water quality parameters in three spring water sources are still in the proper category to support the cultivation of goldfish (Carrasius auratus).
