Abstract

Drugs are materials or alloys, including biological products used to influence or investigate physiological or pathological systems for diagnosis, prevention, healing, recovery, health promotion and contraception for humans. In the treatment of a disease is not always used drugs, often massaged, scraped with coins, surgery, cut, and so on, but most use drugs. The purpose of this study is to determine the main factors that affect the selection of generic drugs or branded drugs on Health Analyst Students of the University of East Indonesia. The type of this research is analytical survey research using cross sectional study approach that is the measurement conducted only once. Subjects studied were Health Analyst Students with a large sample of 162 people. The sampling method used is simple random sampling. The results showed that there was influence between the security and the price of the drug with the p value of 0.034 and 0,000 respectively on the type of selection of generic drugs or branded drugs on the students, while the knowledge, efficacy and quality of drug p value of 0.054 respectively; 0.201; 0.985 indicates no effect. Based on the results of research, the main influence on the selection of generic drugs or branded drugs in students is the price of drugs with a value of 0.000 p

Abstract

A research about the correlation between thrombocyte profile and haematocrite on patient suspect dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) and the manual and automatic method comparison at Labuang Baji Hospital Makassar has been done. The aim of this research is to compare the test results of thrombocytes and haematocrite on patients. A research observational study with cross sectional approach used blood sample was contained 0.5 ml EDTA and taken from patient which matched the sample criteria. Samples was 32 consist of 13 samples (40.63%) were males and 19 (59.37%) were females. The research result showed that normal thrombocyte was used as an automatic method found on 4 (12.5%) patient and used manual methods found on 6 (18.8%) patients, abnormal thrombocyte results used automatic method found on 26 (81.2% ) patient and used manual method found on 28 (87.5%) patients. While the patient used the method found on 18 (56.3%) patient and used manual methods found on 17 (53.2%) patients, the abnormal hematocrite results used automatic method found on 14 (43.7%) patients and the used manual method found on 15 (46.8%) patients. In the conclusion, there was no decrease in thrombocyte correlation and elevated haematocrite on patient suspect dengue hemorrhagic fever and there was a difference between thrombocyte test results and haematocrite used automatic and manual methods.

Abstract

A research about the effect of yeast extract addition on the antibacterial activity of endophytic fungi Paecilomyces genus from cacao pod husk (Theobroma cacao L.) has been conducted. The purpose of this research vas to know the effect of adding yeast extract on the antibacterial activity produced by endophytic fungi of cacao pod husk. Isolate of endophytic fungi fermented in Potato Dextrose Broth (PDB) medium with the addition of yeast extract 0.25% w/v, 0.5% w/v , 1 % w/v, 2% w/v, on a rotary shaker at 150 rpm for 7 days and then centrifuged at 3000 rpm for 15 minutes. The antibacterial activity of supematant was determined by measuring the growth inhibition of pathogenic bacteria Streptococcus mutans with agar diffusion method using paper disc for 24 hours incubation. The inhibition zone of negative control and sample with the addition of yeast extract 0.25% w/v, 0.5% w/v , 1% w/v 2% w/v to S mutans were 7.2 mm, 7.3 mm. 7.7 mm, 8.0 mm, and 8.4 mm respectively. These results indicated that yeast extract addition 1% w/v and 2% w/v have the most significantly influence toward antibacterial activity effect of endophytic fungi Paecilomyces genus.

This type of research is laboratory observation with a descriptive approach that aims to determine the content of vitamin C levels in the mangosteen fruit that is traded on the market in the Eggplant City of Makassar using a UV-Visibel spectrophotometer. From the results of the analysis of the levels of Vitamin C in the mangosteen fruit in the 10gr sample containing vitamin C, that is, 0.05909 mg / gr, and vitamin c needed by the male body 90 mg and perenpuang 75 mg per day. To consumers to consume mangosteen because it can meet the body's needs.

Abstract

Hematocrit examination of the wintrobe method, where erythrocyte solids are obtained by a blood centrifugation process which is determined by the speed and time centrifugation factors. As the number of examinations increases, sometimes the accuracy of centrifugation is often ignored. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of centrifugation time variations on the results of the Macro Method hematocrit examination in D3 Health Analyst Study Program students. The method used in this study was a quasi-experimental method to find out the effect of variations in playback time on the results of the hematocrit examination of the Wintrobe method. The results of this study were obtained F-counts (0.835) and Ftables (3.35). Hematocrit centrifugation of the 25 minute macro method obtained the lowest levels of 37.5% and the highest is 68%. Centrifugation for 30 minutes obtained the lowest levels of 35.3% and the highest 66%. And lastly carried out centifugation for 35 minutes obtained the lowest levels of 37% and the highest 49.5%. Based on the above conclusions can be used for 25, 30, and 35 minutes centrifuge.
