Abstract

When a building is damaged by an earthquake, it's essential to assess its safety. The AMDA model is the result of the stages of developing a competency-based training model for Post-Earthquake Building Investigation which is designed to make someone competent in this matter. The construct of a development model needs to be tested for validity, reliability and evaluation of the construct or structural model of the syntax of the model being built. Each syntax is confirmed or tested through the value of loadings factor, Average Variance Extracted (AVE) and composite reliability. Next, the influence between variables is analyzed or the structural model or construct (Inner Model) is evaluated. Construct evaluation can be seen from the value of R2 (R-square) between 0 and 1 (0<R2<1), the greater the value and closer to 1, the greater the influence of syntax on the model. The test was carried out using the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method. The results obtained were loading factor values>0.7, meaning the indicators used in the syntax were valid, AVE>0.5 meaning the syntax was valid, composite reliability value>0, 7 means the syntax is reliable and the value of R2=0.963, a significant influence of the syntax on the model

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of using interactive learning media based on the Edpuzzle platform on the learning outcomes in the Basics of Building Modeling and Information Design (DPIB) subject among tenth-grade students at SMK Negeri 14 Medan. This study employs a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The research subjects consist of tenth-grade DPIB students divided into several classes. The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling, where classes were selected randomly to be designated as the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group was treated with interactive learning media based on the Edpuzzle platform, while the control group used non-interactive video-based media. Both groups were given a pretest and a posttest to identify differences in learning outcomes before and after the treatment. Data collection was conducted through learning outcome tests in the form of multiple-choice questions. The obtained data were then analyzed using statistical tests to determine the difference in learning outcomes between the experimental and control groups. The results show a significant improvement in learning outcomes in the experimental group compared to the control group. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of interactive learning media based on the Edpuzzle platform has a significant influence on the learning outcomes of the Basics of DPIB among tenth-grade students at SMK Negeri 14 Medan

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the Mood, Understand, Recall, Digest, Expand, Review (MURDER) learning model on students’ learning outcomes in Road and Bridge Construction among eleventh-grade students of the Building Design and Information Modeling (DPIB) Program at SMK Negeri 5 Medan in the 2025/2026 academic year. This study was motivated by the relatively low student learning outcomes, indicated by the number of students who had not yet achieved the Minimum Learning Competency Criteria, as well as the learning process that was still dominated by the Direct Instruction model, resulting in limited student participation during classroom activities. This study employed a quasi-experimental research method using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population consisted of 90 eleventh-grade DPIB students at SMK Negeri 5 Medan divided into three classes. The samples were selected using a cluster random sampling technique, resulting in two classes: an experimental class that received the MURDER learning model and a control class that received the Direct Instruction learning model. Data collection was conducted using a multiple-choice learning achievement test. The data were analyzed through normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing. The findings revealed a significant difference in learning outcomes between students taught using the MURDER learning model and those taught using the Direct Instruction model. This was evidenced by the hypothesis testing result, where the calculated t-value (3.07) was greater than the t-table value (2.00), indicating that H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. The average learning outcome score of the experimental class was 82.46, while the control class achieved an average score of 74.86. Based on the Minimum Mastery Criterion (MMC) of 75, the experimental class successfully achieved classical learning mastery. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the MURDER learning model is more effective than the Direct Instruction model in improving students’ learning outcomes in Road and Bridge Construction, particularly in the Implementation, Supervision, and Maintenance of Road Construction (P3K Jalan) element among eleventh-grade DPIB students at SMK Negeri 5 Medan in the 2025/2026 academic year.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve the Building Information Modeling (BIM) competencies of vocational teachers and students at SMKN 1 Lubuk Pakam and to support the integration of BIM into vocational building design education. The program was implemented through demonstrations, hands-on training, and curriculum integration assistance. A total of 16 participants, consisting of teachers and students from the Building Modeling and Information Design program, took part in the activities. Data were collected using a BIM knowledge test, a perception questionnaire, a teacher readiness questionnaire, and a practical assessment rubric for BIM modeling skills. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize the data, while changes in participants' BIM knowledge were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The results showed that the mean BIM knowledge score increased from 17.62 on the pre-test to 19.88 on the post-test. This improvement was statistically significant (p = 0.039), with a moderate effect size (0.65). Participants' perceptions of BIM also improved, with the mean score increasing from 3.44 to 4.09 and the proportion of responses in the high category rising from 51.3% to 90.0%. Teachers' readiness to integrate BIM into classroom instruction increased substantially, with the mean score rising from 2.00 to 4.36 and the proportion of high-category responses increasing from 13.9% to 94.0%. In addition, participants successfully applied fundamental BIM workflows and produced simple digital building models. These findings indicate that the program effectively enhanced participants' BIM knowledge, practical competencies, and teachers' readiness to integrate BIM into vocational learning. Nevertheless, sustained mentoring and advanced training are recommended to support the development of more complex BIM competencies and long-term curriculum implementation.
