Abstract

This study aimed to determine the feasibility of the wood workshop area in the Wood Stone and Plumbing Workshop, Faculty of Engineering, State University of Medan, based on the required standards. This is done to provide comfort for users of the Wood Stone and Plumbing Workshop, Faculty of Engineering, State University of Medan. This study is a type of research with a descriptive, evaluative method. The subjects in this study were the Wood Stone and Plumbing Workshop, the Faculty of Engineering, the State University of Medan, and the Wood Workshop. In contrast, the object of the study was the area of the Wood Workshop workspace, Faculty of Engineering. Data collection methods were by interview, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique was carried out using a quantitative method, namely comparing the research data at the Wood Stone and Plumbing Workshop, Faculty of Engineering, State University of Medan, with existing standards and supported by the results of field observations. The results of this study are that the area of the Wood, Stone and PlumbingWorkshop workspace at the Faculty of Engineering, State University of Medan meets the space standards, namely 128 m2, which is smaller than the standard size of 256 m2, and the area of the instructor's room at the Wood, Stone and Plumbing Workshop, Faculty of Engineering, State University of Medan does not meet the space standards, 40 m2, which is smaller than the standard size of 48 m2.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the relevance level of the curriculum of the Building Engineering Education Program at Universitas Negeri Medan (UNIMED) to the Learning Outcomes of the Construction and Property Engineering Program in the Merdeka Curriculum at Vocational High Schools (SMK). The objects of this research are the curriculum documents of the Building Engineering Education Program and the Learning Outcomes documents of the Construction and Property Engineering Program. This research uses a quantitative descriptive research method with the following stages: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, data verification, and conclusion drawing. The data collection techniques used are literature review, documentation, and interviews. The obtained data is analyzed by assessing the percentage of each competency or learning element of the Vocational High School (SMK) Construction and Property Engineering Program, and then the results are categorized according to the relevance level categories. The results show that the curriculum of the Building Engineering Education Program at Unimed is relevant to the competencies of the Vocational High School (SMK) Construction and Property Engineering Program, with a relevance level of 92,30%.

Abstract

Abstract: Public space in urban or urban areas is basically a space intended for the community to be able to interact and socialize safely and comfortably in public spaces. The quality of public space will greatly affect the appearance of a city. Corridor is a public space that can accommodate various types of community activities and including commercial activities. The public space on Jalan Karya Wisata Medan Johor is currently not like it should be a corridor which has very complex functions and is mixed with economic activity, thus limiting its movement and visibility. This study aims to determine the quality of the corridor which has various functions including as a commercial corridor with the concept of Livability Space which is considered to be able to solve the problems of a friendly and proper commercial corridor space in terms of activity, accessibility, security and environmental quality. This study used a qualitative method by looking at existing conditions and observing community movements and mapping them (Behavior Mapping) so as to know the tendency of people to be active in the corridor space of Jalan Karya Wisata, Medan JohorKeyword: Public space, Corridor Commersials, Livability Space.Abstrak: Ruang publik di perkotaan atau urban pada dasarnya adalah ruang yang diperuntukkan bagi masyarakat agar dapat berinteraksi dan bersosialisasi dengan aman dan nyaman di ruang publik. Kualitas ruang publik akan sangat mempengaruhi penampilan suatu kota. Koridor merupakan ruang publik yang dapat menampung berbagai jenis aktivitas masyarakat termasuk aktivitas komersial. Ruang publik di Jalan Karya Wisata Medan Johor saat ini tidak seperti koridor yang fungsinya sangat kompleks dan bercampur dengan aktivitas perekonomian sehingga membatasi pergerakan dan visibilitasnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas koridor yang mempunyai berbagai fungsi diantaranya sebagai koridor komersial dengan konsep Livability Space yang dinilai mampu menyelesaikan permasalahan ruang koridor komersial yang ramah dan layak ditinjau dari aktivitas, aksesibilitas, keamanan dan kualitas lingkungan hidup. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan melihat kondisi yang ada dan mengamati pergerakan masyarakat serta memetakannya (Behavior Mapping) sehingga mengetahui kecenderungan masyarakat untuk beraktivitas di ruang koridor Jalan Karya Wisata Medan Johor.Kata Kunci: Ruang Terbuka, Koridor Komersial, Livability Space.

Abstract

Abstract: A public space in an urban area is essentially designed for the community so that they can socialize and carry out activities safely and comfortably. The presence of public spaces in large cities, especially, is very important and influences various activities of its residents. Parks and streets are examples of public spaces that are frequently used by the community for various everyday activities. The Teladan Stadium area in Medan City is one such public open space that is widely used by the public for various activities and has become a popular destination. This study aims to assess the extent of the benefits of this public open space using a placemaking approach, based on the criteria of sociability, uses and activities, access and linkage, as well as comfort and image (Bohl, 2002). The results of this study are expected to provide direction and policy recommendations regarding issues in public spaces with a placemaking approach. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a mapping of public activities through Behaviour Mapping in the Teladan Stadium area in Medan, in order to determine the extent of placemaking and efforts to transform space into a place used for activities in that area. Abstract

SMK masih menjadi penyumbang tertinggi pengangguran dibandingkan jenjang pendidikan lainnya. Ketidakselarasan kompetensi antara lulusan SMK dengan kebutuhan dunia kerja. Revitalisasi SMK merupakan alternatif solusi untuk mengatasi kesenjangan tersebut. SMK Pusat Keunggulan adalah program nyata dari kebijakan Revitalisasi SMK. Program Keahlian Agribisnis Pengolahan Hasil Pertanian merupakan program keahlian unggulan di SMKN 1 Sei Kepayang yang mendapatkan bantuan SMK PK. Pembelajaran berbasis produk yang menyetting iklim dan budaya belajar menyerupai pabrik (Teaching Factory) dibutuhkan masyarakat menjadi tantangan bagi SMK. SMKN 1 Sei Kepayang berada di sekitar perkebunan kelapa. Ketersediaan limbah air kelapa yang tidak termanfaatkan menjadi peluang produk pembelajaran praktikum yang ekonomis dari segi biaya. Guru Produktif APHP telah beberapa kali melakukan eksperimen untuk mengolah air kelapa menjadi Nata de Coco namun belum mendapatkan hasil sesuai yang diharapkan. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR) dengan 5 Tahapan: (1) To Know, (2) To Understand, (3) To Plan, (4) To Act, (5) To Know. Hasil kegiatan pengbadian kepada masyarakat ini teciptanya Produk Nata de Coco SMKN 1 Sei Kepayang yang langsung dihasilkan oleh siswa didampingi oleh mitra industri. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini peranan mitra praktisi sangatlah dibutuhkan dalam upaya meningkatkan pembelajaran Teaching Factory.

Abstract

When a building is damaged by an earthquake, it's essential to assess its safety. The AMDA model is the result of the stages of developing a competency-based training model for Post-Earthquake Building Investigation which is designed to make someone competent in this matter. The construct of a development model needs to be tested for validity, reliability and evaluation of the construct or structural model of the syntax of the model being built. Each syntax is confirmed or tested through the value of loadings factor, Average Variance Extracted (AVE) and composite reliability. Next, the influence between variables is analyzed or the structural model or construct (Inner Model) is evaluated. Construct evaluation can be seen from the value of R2 (R-square) between 0 and 1 (0<R2<1), the greater the value and closer to 1, the greater the influence of syntax on the model. The test was carried out using the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method. The results obtained were loading factor values>0.7, meaning the indicators used in the syntax were valid, AVE>0.5 meaning the syntax was valid, composite reliability value>0, 7 means the syntax is reliable and the value of R2=0.963, a significant influence of the syntax on the model

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology in education necessitates the development of innovative, interactive, and adaptive learning media. This study aims to develop an interactive web-based learning medium designed to enhance students’ technical skills in the Map Digitization topic of the Geographic Information Systems course through the integration of interactive features. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the Richey and Klein model, which includes the stages of Design, Production, and Evaluation. The participants consisted of 31 students from the Building Construction Education Study Program who were directly involved in learning activities on the Map Digitization material. The data were analyzed using a quantitative descriptive approach to interpret the improvement in students’ learning performance. Based on the research findings, the developed web-based interactive learning media was declared highly valid by expert validators, with a validity percentage of 89% from material experts, 90% from media experts, and 94% from user feasibility assessments. These results indicate that the developed media meets the criteria of content accuracy, visual design quality, and interactivity, demonstrating its feasibility and effectiveness for use in the learning process of Map Digitization within the Geographic Information Systems course.

Abstract

The main challenge identified during the community service program was the limited experience of vocational teachers in effectively utilizing the available concrete design laboratory equipment at the school. This limitation has hindered the effective delivery of practical learning in concrete design, resulting in suboptimal skill development among students and reduced alignment with industry standards. This community service program contributed to enhancing vocational teachers’ competence in applying SNI 03-2834-2000 through hands-on training and mentoring on the effective use of concrete design laboratory equipment in SMKN 2 Medan. The community service program was conducted through several stages, including field needs analysis, development of a technical guidance manual, initial socialization, mentoring sessions, and evaluation of the resulting concrete design projects. The results of the community service program showed that the training participants successfully understood the steps of concrete design in accordance with the established standards, as evidenced by an evaluation involving 22 participants which indicated an average achievement score of 89% across the aspects of ease of use, usefulness, attractiveness, and satisfaction. In conclusion, the program effectively strengthened vocational teachers’ competence in concrete design based on SNI 03-2834-2000, and its implementation model can be replicated in other vocational schools to enhance the quality of practical construction learning.
