Abstract

Abstract

Polyscias scutellaria can be planted as hedge plants at home. This plant has many advantages, one of which is a hair tonic that already has a patent number. To be used on an industrial scale, it is necessary to provide raw materials on a large scale, which can be done by planting in certain regions. The objective is that the empowerment of the PKK in Pasirwangi District, Garut will make the Pasirwangi sub-district one of the centers for producing P. scutellaria leaf raw materials. The activities carried out include educating on the use of medicinal plants, especially P. scutellaria and ginger, practicing training on planting techniques, cultivating them, and giving P. scutellaria cuttings and post-harvest processing techniques. This activity is an activity of the IPB Lecturer Homecoming Program in 2022 which is carried out in several stages. Evaluation and monitoring of cultivation executed two months after training. The evaluation results showed that there was an increase in knowledge related to the cultivation of P. scutellaria and participants cultivated P. scutellaria in their garden after the training was more than 90%. All of the participant’s responses to the training carried out stated that it was very useful and hoped that the activities would be sustainable.

Abstract

Character education is an effort to shape personality and noble morals in individuals. This is becoming increasingly important in today's modern era, where moral and ethical values are increasingly being eroded. As a result, character education in elementary schools is very important to shape students' morals and morals. The Qur'an as the main source in Islam contains many verses that discuss character education. These verses can be used as guidelines for building a young generation with noble character. This article reviews the development strategy for character education from an Islamic perspective at SDN 2 Sukamanah. This character education program is designed and implemented carefully and carefully to teach students the values of human behavior related to God, fellow humans, the environment and nationality. Through contextual and textual understanding studies, this paper aims to gain an understanding of the character education approach formulated from an Islamic perspective at SDN 2 Sukamanah. In-depth analysis also involves the role of teachers, students and the school environment in encouraging Islamic-based characters. Keyword: Pendidikan Karakter,Akhlak,Islam

Abstract

An in vivo test study to prove its effectiveness as an antihyperuricemia requires an animal model with a hyperuricemic condition. Foods that contain high purine bases have the potential to increase uric acid levels in the blood, including chicken liver and melinjo seeds. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the combination of chicken liver juice and melinjo seed powder in producing hyperuricemia conditions with the most optimal onset and duration in rats in vivo. Six groups of white Sprague Dawley rats (n=5) consisted of a normal group, a positive control group, a chicken liver juice group, a melinjo seed powder group and two groups that were given a combination of chicken liver juice and melinjo seed powder with different compositions. The treatment was given every day for 15 days orally. The parameters observed were uric acid levels which were measured every 3 days and, body weight. The results showed that the combination of chicken liver juice and melinjo powder with a half dose of a single dose each had a better onset and duration. The conclusion of this study is that the combination of chicken liver juice and melinjo seed powder is potent as an inducer of hyperuricemia in rats.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus can cause significant microstructural damage in liver tissue. This study evaluated the effectiveness of instant granules of Zingiber officinale and Cajanus cajan leaves on the liver histological profile in diabetic model rats. A total of 25 male Sprague Dawley rats were assigned into five groups. The group consist of negative control (NC), positive control (PC), metformin control group at a dose of 150 mg/kg BW (MET), and two treatment groups of instant granules of Z. officinale and C. cajan leaves at a dose of 300 mg/kg BW (T1) and 150 mg/kg BW (T2) for 28 days treatment. The diabetic condition was obtained by single induction of streptozotocin (35 mg/kg BW). The liver tissue was stained using hematoxylin-eosin staining to observe the cytoplasm intensity, central vein diameter, and nucleus intensity of liver cells in diabetic model rats. The results showed that administration of the instant granules significantly decrease liver microstructural damage (P0.01). The 150 mg/kg BW (T2) dose showed the most optimal effectiveness by successfully decreasing cytoplasmic intensity, reducing central vein dilation, and decreasing nuclear cell intensity. The research result indicate that instant granules have strong hepatoprotective properties that can repair liver microstructural damage caused by diabetes.

Abstract

Enhalus acoroides is a seagrass species known for its antioxidant potential due to its flavonoid content, including quercetin. This study aimed to optimize the extraction time using the ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) method based on physicochemical parameters and antioxidant activity. The simplicia was extracted for 20, 30, and 40 minutes, each in triplicate, using 96% ethanol acidified with 1% HCl. The results demonstrated that extraction time significantly influenced the physicochemical properties, including yield (highest at 30 minutes: 40.2%), total phenolic content (1.153 mg GAE/g), total flavonoid content (0.318 mg QE/g), quercetin content (0.316 mg/g), and antioxidant activity (IC₅₀ = 58.44 ppm), whereas no significant effect was observed on total ash content. Qualitative phytochemical screening revealed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and triterpenoids. Based on these findings, a 30-minute extraction time is recommended as the optimal condition for obtaining E. acoroides extract with the highest antioxidant activity.
