Abstract

The descriptive study of Blauran Traditional Market Traders in Palangka Raya City was motivated by problems arising from the rapid emergence of modern markets which were feared to shift the existence of traditional markets in Palangka Raya City. Where the problems that occur in traditional markets greatly affect the existence of the traditional markets themselves, from the problems of services provided by traders to the most frequent problems that arise, namely regarding the cleanliness in traditional markets. This study aims to describe and analyze the social dynamics of traders in the Blauran traditional market, Palangka Raya City. While the research method is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, with data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation study. The results showed that the Blauran traditional market traders instilled values ​​and norms that had existed from generation to generation from generation to generation before them. So that traders can easily overcome problems that arise as a result of the emergence of modern markets, and with the development of the era traders provide other innovations from pre-existing values ​​and practice them directly to buyers in order to provide comfort obtained from the work ethic produced directly by traders.

Abstract

Teachers are an essential component of education as well a determinant of the quality of education. The Teacher’s professionalism is characterized by improving the learning quality (LQ) through the utilization and optimization of learning technology. Also, the quality of teaching is also supported by a conducive working environment conditions at the school. This study reported the results of research which investigated the correlation between school climate (SC) and learning technology utilization (LTU) with LQ. Sixteen participants from geographic subject teachers at the State Senior High School (PSHS) in Palangka Raya have responded to the questionnaire and recorded their perceptions of SC, LTU, and LQ. Spearman correlation analysis was used to test their correlation. This study revealed a positive relationship between LTU and LQ. As for the SC did not give influence on the LQ at PSHS in Palangka Raya. So that improving the LQ can be done by enhancing the ability of teachers in LTU and use it in teaching and learning activities in the classroom.

Abstract

Suku Dayak memiliki filosofi Belom Bahadat (hidup beradat)yang melandasi seluruh aspek kehidupan orang Dayak Ngaju. Salah satu tatanan kehidupan yang masih dipertahankan dan dilestarikan adalah penyelenggaraan perkawinan adat Dayak Ngaju. Tidak semua masyarakat Dayak Ngaju di Kota Palangka Raya memahami sepenuhnya mengenai makna perjanjian perkawinan dan makna simbolik perkawinan adat Dayak Ngaju. Terkadang hanya tua-tua adat dan para orang tua yang telah berpengalaman saja yang memahami makna perkawinan adat Dayak Ngaju, sedangkan pasangan muda umumnya kurang mengetahui akan hal itu. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui, menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan makna simbolik perkawinan adat Dayak Ngaju di Kota Palangka Raya. Sedangkan Perumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah: Bagaimanakah makna simbolik perkawinan adat Dayak Ngaju di Kota Palangka Raya. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa setiap tahapan prosesi perkawinan memiliki makna simbolik, dimana simbol-simbol tersebut mempunyai makna dan fungsi masing yang saling berkaitan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari masyarakat Dayak Ngaju. Simbol-simbol tersebut selalu mempunyai peranan dan sebagai petunjuk bagi para penganutnya.

Abstract

Work culture is a philosophy based on a view of life as values ​​that become the nature, habits and driving force, entrenched in the life of a community group or organization which is reflected from attitudes into behaviors, beliefs, ideals, opinions and actions that manifest as work or work. The purpose of this study was to describe the work culture and success tips of Javanese transmigrant farmers in Purwodadi Village, Maliku District, Pulang Pisau Regency. This study uses a qualitative research method with the object of farmer's work culture and the subject is the Javanese transmigrant community and the number of 10 people is determined by purposive sampling method. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation as well as data validation using triangulation techniques. The results of this study indicate that the work culture of transmigrant farmers in Purwodadi Village, Maliku District, Pulang Pisau Regency is very good, namely hard working culture. While the tips for success according to the farming community are very diverse, namely work hard, be diligent, patient, honest, use the best time possible, make more friends, continue to learn about new things, have principles and don't let people get hurt and don't forget to pray.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keserasian sosial masyarakat dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keserasian sosial masyarakat di Desa Beriwit Kecamatan Murung Raya Kabupaten Murung Raya. Metode penelitian adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, serta studi dokumentasi. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah kepala desa Beriwit, tokoh masyarakat dan warga etnis yang menjadi warga desa Beriwit. Interpretasi data dilakukan dengan menggunakan data yang diperoleh dari observasi, wawancara, serta diinterpretasikan berdasarkan kajian studi dokumentasi hingga ditarik kesimpulan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) potret kerukunan dalam masyarakat menunjukkan bahwa adanya hubungan baik yang timbal balik antar warga Kelurahan Beriwit, dan (2) Toleransi dalam keragaman etnik tergambarkan dari adanya sikap saling menghargai dan menghormati, (3) Konflik yang pernah terjadi menunjukkan bahwa adanya pengalaman masa lalu terkait terjadinya gesekan sosial, dan (4) Amalgamasi sebagai upaya pembauran budaya tergambarkan dari perkawinan campuran antara etnis. Ada beberapa faktor keserasian sosial yang mempengaruhi masyarakat hidup rukun dan damai dalam perbedaan daripada konflik, yaitu: forum-forum masyarakat sebagai komponen modal sosial, peran dan intervensi tokoh masyarakat dalam memecahkan masalah, serta agama sebagai alat perekat dalam membina keserasian sosial.

Abstract

Perempuan dalam masyarakat adat Dayak memegang peranan penting dalam pelestarian tradisi, struktur sosial, dan keberlanjutan budaya lokal. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara mendalam peran, posisi, dan kontribusi perempuan dalam sistem sosial masyarakat Dayak serta tantangan yang mereka hadapi dalam menjaga eksistensi adat di tengah perubahan sosial. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi lapangan di beberapa komunitas Dayak di Kalimantan Tengah, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa perempuan tidak hanya berperan dalam ranah domestik, tetapi juga sebagai aktor budaya, penjaga nilai-nilai adat, dan pemimpin informal dalam komunitas mereka. Namun, modernisasi dan masuknya nilai-nilai luar turut memengaruhi posisi mereka, menimbulkan dilema antara pelestarian budaya dan adaptasi terhadap perubahan. Studi ini penting sebagai dasar untuk perumusan strategi pelestarian adat yang berperspektif gender.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of peer education-based counseling in preventing risky social behavior among university students at Universitas PGRI Palangka Raya. A quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was employed, involving 50 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ knowledge and attitudes after the intervention. The mean score increased from 59.86 (pre-test) to 81.74 (post-test), indicating an overall improvement of approximately 36.6%. In addition, knowledge increased by 24% and attitudes by 22%. These results demonstrate that peer education is highly effective due to social proximity, interactive learning methods, and peer influence. However, several challenges were identified, including limited time, varying levels of participant understanding, and limited learning facilities. Overall, this study highlights the potential of peer education as a sustainable and participatory strategy for preventing risky behavior in higher education settings.
