Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the teaching methods used by the teacher and the students' interest in mathematics. This research is a quantitative study with data collection in the form of interviews, questionnaires and documentation of the transcripts of mathematics grades in one of the primary schools. There is a positive relationship between how teachers deliver Mathematics material to students' interest in learning Mathematics. This is used as a topic of discussion because in the learning process, students' interest in the subject is needed. The teaching and learning process which is supported by high interest and enthusiasm from students can make learning much more effective. This is also supported by the opinion of experts on how effective learning can be done, one of which is the relationship between appropriate and fun teaching methods with high student interest. In addition, the author raises the subject of Mathematics because this subject is still a frightening specter for students, especially the response that Mathematics teachers are usually scary and boring teachers. Therefore a study was made that shows how effective the relationship is between the Mathematics Teacher's teaching methods and students' interest in learning about this subject.

Abstract

Since a teacher's ability to instruct in class has a direct bearing on students' hopes for their own education, it's crucial that they acquire effective teaching strategies through the use of proven pedagogical models. Teachers can implement the Contextual Teaching and Learning Model in the classroom to change the way their students learn. The primary purpose of this research is to evaluate the CTL learning model's potential for improving the quality of education in the primary grades by promoting student engagement and encouraging collaborative efforts to improve social studies instruction.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the Learning Cycle 7E learning model assisted by Montessori media on the critical thinking skills of elementary school students in class IV hearing senses. This research is motivated by the existence of a phenomenon where students have difficulty understanding material about the sense of hearing which is quite complicated because of the many terms used. Science subjects in elementary schools are generally taught by lecture and assignment methods, this will make students feel bored faster in class and unable to absorb the information conveyed correctly. Therefore, research was made to show how effective the Learning Cycle 7E model assisted by Montessori media was on students' critical thinking skills. This research was conducted using a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental methods. The research design developed was a quasi-experimental design model with nonequivalent control group design. The sample used was fourth grade students at SDN Sukarasa. As for the data processing techniques, the authors use descriptive techniques to obtain conclusions from this study. As a result, there is a positive relationship from the Montessori media-assisted LC 7E learning model to students' critical thinking skills. This is also supported by the opinions of experts on how effective learning can be done, one of which is by using a fun learning model so that children's thinking abilities increase.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine common misconceptions among elementary school students regarding the greenhouse effect. The method used was descriptive research, using 52 student samples selected by purposive sampling technique, and the Rasch model was used to analyze the data. The results showed that the Rasch Model confirmed the validity of the tool, highlighting the challenges in understanding the concept of the greenhouse effect among bright students. Students had a misconception rate of 63% when analyzing the relationship between the ozone layer and the greenhouse effect, 62% when distinguishing between the greenhouse effect and global warming, 60% when examining the relationship between the greenhouse effect and cow dung waste, and 56% when determining the relationship between the greenhouse effect and acid rain. Effective teaching strategies are essential for correcting misconceptions, and future research should explore media or learning models to address these issues. It is imperative for educators to design targeted interventions that specifically target these prevalent misconceptions to improve science education outcomes among elementary school students in Indonesia.
