Abstract

Kesalahan konsep sering didasarkan pada pengalaman pribadi dan sulit untuk berubah ke pemahaman konten ilmiahnya, bahkan setelah pembelajaran dirancang untuk menangani konten ilmiah di mana kesalahan konsep terjadi, banyak mahasiswa tidak merekonstruksi pemikirannya. Mahasiswa yang mampu merekonstruksi pengetahuan (perubahan konseptual) adalah yang menggunakan pemikiran kritis dan penalaran logis.  Konflik kognitif memiliki peran penting dalam terjadinya perubahan konseptual. Seorang pendidik yang dapat meyakinkan peserta didik bahwa konsepsi-konsepsi fisika yang dimiliki merupakan konsepsi yang salah (miskonsepsi), maka mahasiswa akan yakin bahwa dia membutuhkan perubahan konseptual. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis model pembelajaran CCM CCA (Concetual Change Model with Cognitive Conflict Approach) sebagai suatu produk yang valid beserta instrumennya yang akan dapat memfasilitasi terjadinya perubahan konseptual pada mahasiswa. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan mencakup materi dinamika partikel yang terdiri dari hukum Newton dan Usaha-Energi dengan masing-masing materi memiliki 3 SAP dan 3 LKM. Validasi perangkat pembelajaran secara isi dan konstruk dilakukan dengan teknik FGD (Focused Group Discussions) oleh ahli (expert) di bidang pendidikan fisika. Hasil validasi perangkat pembelajaran menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran CCM-CCA yang dikembangkan layak (valid) digunakan pada pembelajaran fisika dasar dengan melakukan sedikit revisi berdasarkan saran/masukan dari peserta FGD.

Abstract

A good and correct understanding of concepts is a fundamental thing that prospective Physics teachers must have before graduated from college. Therefore, it is necessary to identify the conception to ensure that there are no students who have misconceptions and do not understand the concept. This study aims at identifying the misconceptions experienced by prospective Physics teachers at the final level, especially in the friction force material. This is descriptive research conducted in a university in Mataram with 12 students involved. The instrument used was a three-tier test in the form of a multiple-choice test with open reasons. A total of 10 items with 30 questions were used in this study. Data collection techniques used was tests and interviews. The data that has been collected was then analyzed using descriptive statistics. Based on the results of the data analysis, it was found that 46.29% of the students had misconceptions with details of 50.00% of the students experienced misconceptions in determining the type of friction force, 43.75% in determining the direction of friction force, and 47.22% in determining the magnitude of the friction force. The results of this study indicate that there are still many students of prospective Physics teachers have misconceptions. Therefore, we need an alternative learning that can be used to reduce the misconceptions had by prospective Physics teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to develop learning devices based on a discovery learning model on global warming topics that are feasible to improve student physics learning motivation and outcome. The research is a research and development study with the ADDIE model standing for Analyze, Design, Development, Implement, and Evaluate. The developed research instruments are syllabus, Lesson Plan (LP), Student Worksheet (SW), learning video, and test instrument. Meanwhile, data collection instruments include a validation sheet, motivation questionnaire, along pre-test and post-test sheets. Paired sample T-test was used to assess the comparative hypothesis of the two samples' average. The research instruments were developed at the Department of Physics Education Laboratory, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Mataram and applied in XI MIA 1 class of State Madrasah Aliyah 1 Mataram. Those instruments were syllabus, LP, SW, and test instruments. The developed learning devices based on the discovery learning model were assessed by three expert validators, physics lecturers, resulting in learning devices with "very good" criteria. Hence, the learning devices based on the discovery learning model were feasible to be applied to improve student physics learning motivation and outcome. Based on the implementation of learning devices at State Madrasah Aliyah 1 Mataram, student physics learning motivation was increased by 0.53. In contrast, student physics learning outcome on global warming was improved by 0.47; therefore, both were categorized as "medium". According to paired sample t-test using SPSS 22, the physics learning outcome was 0.000 < 0.005 indicating a significant difference between before and after the learning treatment on students.

Abstract

This study aims to produce products in the form of learning media and instruments based on the 5E learning cycle model on harmonic vibration material. It is development research using the ADDIE model consisted of 5 stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages (this study was limited to the development stage). The products developed were Syllabus, Lesson Plan, Student Worksheets, and Critical Thinking Skill Instruments in Physics. The feasibility of the learning media and instrument developed was measured by three experts’ validation by calculating the validity and reliability values of the media and instrument. The validity results based on the experts’ assessment showed that the score of the syllabus was 3.70 with very valid criteria. The Lesson Plan was 3.66 with very valid criteria; the LKPD was 3.66 with very valid criteria, and the Critical Thinking Skill Instrument in Physics was 3.63 included in the very valid criteria. The reliability results of the syllabus were 94.52%, the Lesson Plan was 90.36%, the LKPD was 91.78%, and the Critical Thinking Skill Instrument in Physics was 93.62%, indicating that all aspects assessed had a reliable category. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the learning media and instrument developed are feasible to use in learning to improve students' critical thinking skills in Physics on harmonic vibrations material.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the effectiveness of physics learning media based on the guided inquiry learning model to improve students' science literacy skills and scientific attitudes effectively and efficiently.  The type of the research is a Research and Development (R&D) which adopts the 4D model. The effectiveness obtained from the limited trial which was used to get the value of the N-gain test and the efficiency was determined from the students' responses and the results of the scientific attitude questionnaire. The results of the study based on the results of the N-gain test obtained an average value of 0.55 with a medium category. Student responses indicated that they are not satisfied with online learning and the results of the scientific attitude response questionnaire showed that there is an increase in students' scientific attitudes. So it can be concluded that the effectiveness of the physics learning media based on the guided inquiry learning media on material of momentum and impulse is effective and efficient to improve students' scientific literacy skills and scientific attitudes.

Abstract

Misconceptions are one of the problems that often occur in education. This objected aims to identify misconceptions of pre-service physics teachers’ in motion concept from various representations. The method used in this research is descriptive method. A total of 40 pre-service physics teachers’ at a university in the city of Mataram were involved in this study. The instrument used in the study was a three tier test with open reasons. The reasons have been made to be open aims so that pre-service physics teachers’ are more free to describe the understanding that is in their cognitive structure. A total of 15 test items used in this study. The questions are classified into three types of representations namely; verbal, vigural, and graphics. The results showed that 67% of pre-service physics teachers have misconceptions on the concept of linier motion, 53% of misconceptions on the concept of vertical motion, and 57% of misconceptions on the concept of parabolic motion. The result shows that 61% of pre-service physics teachers’ have misconceptions on verbal type questions, 59% of misconceptions on vigural type , and 61% misconceptions on graphic type.

Abstract

Learning must be focus on creating conceptual change in students. One of the alternatives is using CCM-CCA-based learning devices because CCM-CCA is a learning model that can create cognitive conflict as a condition for conceptual change. This research is directed to develop learning devices based on CCM-CCA that can improve conceptual understanding. The learning devices developed to consist of LEU (Learning Events Units) and SW (Students’ Worksheet) for Newton's Law material about motion and work-energy. The results of the validation of learning devices (LEU and SW validation) indicate that these devices are valid in content and construction so that they are suitable for the learning process. Based on the results of the implementation of the device and the test results, it was concluded that the CCM-CCA-based learning device was able to improve conceptual understanding. The increase was obtained through an N-Gain analysis with an N-Gain value for LEU of 60.44% and SW of 54.01%. The percentage of the N-Gain score is included in the increase with the medium category.

Abstract

Abstract: Gunung Samalas yang kini disebut dengan Gunung Rinjani adalah gunung api dengan letusan terbesar sepanjang sejarah ummat manusia dari zaman Nabi Ibrahim hingga kini. Penemuan ini didasarkan pada cerita sejarah bencana kelaparan yang melanda hampir separuh belahan dunia dari sekitar Pasifik hingga ujung barat benua Eropa. Letusan gunung besar gunung samalas sebelumnya terjadi sekitar 2500 tahun yang lalu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap letusan besar yang pernah terjadi di Gunung Samalas berdasarkan stratigrafi endapan vulkanik di daerah Gangga, Lombok Utara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat letusan besar yang terjadi sebelum 2500 tahun yang lalu, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat 3 letusan besar yang telah terjadi pada Gunung Samalas. Penelitian awal ini masih memerlukan dukungan dari data dari tempat lain dan data hasil dating dari lapisan pumice yang diduga sebagai hasil letusan paling awal. Keywords: Letusan Samalas; Endapan Vulkanik; Lombok.

Abstract

Abstract: Kelerengan kasih lepas sangat tergantung pada koefisien gesek statis antar partikel hasil lepas dan gaya normal yang bekerja pada bidang gelincir antar pasir lepas tersebut. Getaran gempa dapat menurunkan besarnya gaya normal akibat turunnya percepatan sebagai akibat adanya akselerasi dari suatu getaran. Perubahan kelerengan berbanding lurus dengan amplitudo getaran gempa dan juga berbanding lurus dengan frekuensi getaran gempa. Penelitian ini merupakan kajian teoritis yang mencoba menghubungkan antara stabilitas kelerengan pasir lepas akibat adanya perubahan akselerasi sebagai akibat dari getaran gempa bumi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan, kepraktisan, serta keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran model kausalitik untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif momentum dan impuls peserta didik. Jenis penelitian ini termasuk penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development), dengan desain menggunakan model 4D. Prosedur penelitian yang dilakukan dalam mengacu pada langkah-langkah pengembangan model 4D yaitu define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Perangkat pembelajaran model kausalitik untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif momentum dan impuls peserta didik yang dikembangkan terdiri dari silabus, RPP, LKPD, tugas pendahuluan, dan instrumen tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif (KBK). Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui validasi perangkat pembelajaran oleh validator, angket respon peserta didik, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, serta uji coba terbatas. Hasil validasi perangkat pembelajaran mencapai rata-rata nilai validitas 87,52% dengan kriteria sangat valid. Respon peserta didik memperoleh nilai > 80% dengan kriteria baik, dan rerata keterlaksanaan pembelajaran untuk tiga kali pertemuan yaitu 3,6 dengan kriteria sangat baik. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran model kausalitik untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif momentum dan impuls peserta didik layak, praktis, dan efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran.
