Abstract

INPATIENT WARDS NURSES WORK MOTIVATION AND THE DISCIPLINE OF INTRAVENOUS FLUID INSTALLATION BASED ON THE STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE Patient safety in hospitals is a significant global issue. One of the ways to prevent injury to patients is to perform an invasive procedure such as infusion following the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). The type of research was descriptive verification using a cross-sectional study. The population in this study were nurses inpatient wards X Hospital Bandung, amounting to 108 people, while the number of samples were 103 people, with a proportional stratified random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out from April to July 2014 by filling out validated questionnaires, interviews, and observations of research respondents involving the head of the room and clinical instructure. The analytical method used descriptive analysis by tabulating the data to answer the identification of problems of descriptive and regression analysis to test the hypothesis. From the results, the motivation of nurses was in a good category and discipline infusion following SOP in the excellent category. Based on the results of the linear regression test showed that the variables of work motivation had a positive influence on the discipline nurses in action infusion following the SOP. The effect of work motivation can increase the discipline of infusion, according to SOP.

Abstract

Patient treatment intention is a vital indicator of hospital service success amid competitive dynamics among healthcare facilities. This study analyzes the influence of corporate identity, physical environment, contact personnel, and service offering on the treatment intention of outpatients at RSUD KH Daud Arif, Tanjung Jabung Barat Regency, motivated by an 8.80% decline in outpatient visits in December 2025. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design was employed. The population comprised all 17,286 outpatient visits during the last quarter of 2025, from which 170 respondents were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed with multiple linear regression to test partial and simultaneous effects. The results show that, simultaneously, the four independent variables have a positive and significant effect on treatment intention, with an adjusted coefficient of determination of 0.582. Partially, service offering is the most dominant factor (β = 0.412; p = 0.000), followed by contact personnel (β = 0.224; p = 0.002), corporate identity (β = 0.185; p = 0.005), and physical environment (β = 0.152; p = 0.022). These findings confirm that the reliability and completeness of clinical services are the primary determinants of treatment intention, so strategies to recover patient visits should prioritize strengthening specialist service availability and the quality of staff interaction.

Abstract

Patient dissatisfaction at primary healthcare facilities has become a systemic problem in North Sumatra, marked by rising public complaints, low revisit intention, and unmet service promises at Dewina Clinic, a private primary clinic whose workload is dominated by BPJS patients at 79.46% of 7,324 annual outpatient visits. This study aims to analyze the influence of healthcare personnel competence and service quality on outpatient satisfaction, both partially and simultaneously. A quantitative method with a descriptive-verificative approach was applied to 100 respondents selected through accidental sampling, and the data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 26. The results show that competence (B = 0.425; t = 5.000; p < 0.05) and service quality (B = 0.342; t = 4.385; p < 0.05) each have a positive and significant partial influence on patient satisfaction, and simultaneously both variables have a significant influence (F = 48.650; p < 0.05) with a contribution of 50.1% (R square = 0.501). Competence is the more dominant variable, with medical knowledge scoring highest (4.45), while staff composure during busy conditions (3.88) and registration waiting time (3.50) are the weakest points. These findings validate the Donabedian structure-process-outcome model. Clinic management is advised to strengthen continuous medical education, digitalize the queue system, and develop staff interpersonal competence to sustain service quality and patient safety.
