Abstract

Listening skill is a receptive skill. As a receptive skill, students only have to receive and comprehend the materials, no need to have a production on it. However, Listening become a crucial material for students to comprehend the language, especially for EFL (English as a Foreign Language) learners. Although, it is a receptive skill, it is important to use the strategy to encourage students to be more active in learning a language. Thus, students will easily to comprehend the language that they learn. Due to the issue, the study was aimed to determine students‘ perspective on the implementation of cognitive and metacognitive strategies through listening comprehension. This study involved 35 participants on the second semester from English department, faculty of letter Pamulang University. The instruments of the data finding were the paper-based Linkert scale survey and the reflective questions related to students‘ perception on the implementation of the cognitive and metacognitive strategies through their listening comprehension: first, what are the difficulties on listening comprehension?, second, how the cognitive and metacognitive strategies help to encounter the difficulties? The data finding showed that the students gave positive responses to the cognitive and metacognitive strategies of the improvement on their listening comprehension. Yet, the cognitive and metacognitive strategies implication is needed for further research.

Abstract

This research aims, firstly, to analyze the significant effect of role-play and discussion techniques on the students? speaking skill. Secondly, to analyze the significant difference of the students who are holistic learners with those who are sequential learners regarding their speaking skill. Thirdly, to discuss the interaction regarding the teaching techniques and learning style concerning the students? speaking skill. The objects of the research were two classes of English department students, Universitas Pamulang (UNPAM). The instruments used were the speaking test and questionnaires. The method of the data analysis was quantitative using SPSS 20. The result of the research shows, firstly, there was a significant effect of the role-play technique and discussion on the students? speaking skill. Secondly, there was no significant difference concerning the students who are holistic learners with those who are sequential learners, regarding the speaking skill. Thirdly, there was no interaction between teaching techniques and learning styles in relation with students? speaking skill.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media pembelajaran, fasilitas pembelajaran dan minat belajar mahasiswa terhadap motivasi belajar daring selama pandemi Covid-19 Program Studi Bahasa dan Sastra Arab Fakultas Ushuluddin dan Adab Universitas Islam Negeri Sultan Maulana Hassanudin Banten. Dalam penentuan sampel penelitian menggunakan purposive sampling. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis menunjukan media pembelajaran berpengaruh signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar mahasiswa, kemudian fasilitas pembelajaran berpengaruh signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar mahasiswa selanjutnya minat belajar dinyatakan tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar. Kontribusi pengaruh variabel media pembelajaran, fasilitas pembelajaran dan minat belajar adalah 49,7% terhadap motivasi belajar dan sisanya 50,3% dipengaruhi variabel lain di luar variabel penelitian. Kata Kunci: Metode Pembelajaran, Daring, Fasilitas Pembelajaran, Minat Belajar, Motivasi Belajar

Abstract

Masalah utama dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana pengaruh potensi diri, motivasi belajar, lingkungan sosial, dan prospek kerja terhadap keputusan mahasiswa untuk memilih kuliah di Program Studi Bahasa Arab UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten. Beberapa hipotesis telah ditentukan dalam penelitian ini untuk menjawab hipotesis tersebut dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Pengujian instrumen meliputi uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, dan uji asumsi klasik, serta terakhir uji hipotesis (uji T). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat dua hipotesis penelitian (H1 dan H3) dimana hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis penelitian yang diajukan ditolak yaitu potensi diri dan lingkungan sosial tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keputusan memilih kuliah di BSA UIN SMH Program Studi Banten. Kemudian ditemukan bahwa hipotesis lain (H2 dan H4) yaitu variabel motivasi dan prospek kerja dinyatakan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keputusan memilih perguruan tinggi pada Program Studi BSA UIN SMH Banten. Kata Kunci : Potensi Diri, Motivasi Belajar, Lingkungan Sosial, Dan Prospek Kerja, Keputusan Siswa

Abstract

This study deals with the investigation between teaching methods and learning style. The process in conducting the study, two classess were chossen as sample in sixteen classes. The implicit and explicit methods choosen to know which method gives significant effect to the students deals with their learning style, holistic and sequential learners. The study focused on student’s writing ability, recount text. The first class used the implicit method as the experiment class and the other used explicit method as a comparison class. To see which methods were more effectives to introduce the simple tenses that are on the recount text. It also to see whether learning style gives significant effect on both method. The result of the study suggest that the materials given are not deep enough to see the difference on both methods. It was suggested to provide more materials related to the structure of grammar to deeply see the difference between the methods.

Abstract

The Research aims to examine the effect of learning motivation, interest, and time management to the learning achievement on limited face to face learning for students of Arabic language and literature Ushuluddin and Adab Faculty Islamic State University (UIN) Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten. The sample of research are 118 students. Data analysis technique on the research is descriptive analysis and regression analysis with the help of SPSS 21 program. The result of the research showed that learning motivation significantly effect to learning achievement, learning interest significantly effect to learning achievement, and time management significantly effect to learning achievement. Learning motivation affects 15,97%, learning interest affects 17,86% and time management affects 19,96%. The result of learning motivation, learning interest, and time management in total have 53,79% to learning achievement

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of self-efficacy on independence learning to learning motivation as an intervention variable in college students of the Ushuluddin and Adab Faculty, State Islamic University (UIN) Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten. The research sample was 83 students. The data analysis technique used SEM analysis with the help of SmartPLS. Self-efficacy has an effect of 41% on the learning motivation variable and the rest is influenced by other variables. Then self-efficacy and learning motivation show an effect of 77% on the independence learning variable and the rest influenced by other variables. The results showed that self-efficacy had a positive and significant influence on independence learning, there was a positive and significant influence between the self-efficacy variable on learning motivation, and there was a positive but insignificant influence on the learning motivation variable to independence learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keinginan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kompetensi dosen terhadap prestasi belajar mahasiswa Prodi Bahasa dan Sastra Arab UIN SMH Banten. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Metode penelitian yang dipakai adalah penelitian studi deskriptif dengan penelitian survei. Dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan nonprobability sampling, pengambilan sampel menggunakan rumus perhitungan Isaac dan Michael dimana diperoleh 60 sampel penelitian. Hasil peneltian menunjukan tidak terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan kompetensi pedagogik, kompetensi kepribadian, kompetensi sosial dan kompetensi profesional terhadap prestasi belajar mahasiswa Prodi Bahasa dan Sastra Arab UIN SMH Banten pada semester genap TA 2021/2022.
