<![CDATA[Kegiatan pengabdian ini didasari oleh permintaan dari SMA IT (Sekolah Menengah Islam Terpadu) Fadhilah yang meminta Tim untuk memberi kegiatan pelatihan yang berkenaan dengan penerapan Project Based Learning (PjBL). Permintaan tersebut tentang hal-hal penting, langkah kegiatan (sintag) PjBL, luaran dan keuntungan penggunaan PjBL ini pada bidang studi yang ada di SMA IT Fadhilah tersebut. Oleh karena itu, tim perlu mengadakan kegiatan pelatihan penerapan Project Based Learning (PjBL) untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam mengajar selama pandemic covid-19. Berdasarkan analisis tersebut, pelatihan penerapan Project Based Learning (PjBL) dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam mengajar selama pandemic covid-19 di SMA IT Fadhilah Selanjutnya tim melaksanakan kegiatan pelatihan ini dengan bentuk pelatihan/workshop ke sekolah tersebut dengan mengikuti protokol kesehatan. Kegiatan pelatihan ini terbagi ke dalam 2 sesi. Pada sesi pertama, para peserta diberikan pembekalan tentang informasi PjBL dengan salah satu contoh kasus mata kuliah di level perguruan tinggi. Selanjutnya, pada sesi kedua, para peserta pelatihan diberikan lembar kerja dengan adanya bantuan sintag dari PjBL dengan mengisi sesuai dengan mata pelajaran yang diampu para peserta pelatihan ini. Pelatihan ini berjalan lancer dan para peserta sangat antusias bertanya dan memberi tanggapan terkait PjBL ini.]]>

<![CDATA[Teachers should teach and transfer knowledge successfully in online learning, despite the fact that it is still a pandemic. It is difficult because the teacher and students aren't in the same room. Combining Google classroom and Google meeting is one of the solution to help the learners get some knowledge even in in online learning class. This research can be a good input for the teacher to evaluate future learning better than before in EFL classroom during Covid-19 pandemic for online learning class. This study aims at EFL students’ perception of online learning for EFL students during the covid-19 Pandemic in online learning class. The method of the research was descriptively quantitative. The sample of this research was 13 students, collected by using total sampling. The tool for this study was a series of 20-question questionnaire delivered to students using Google Form. The students were asked to choose one of four options in the questionnaire to collect data. After getting the data based on the students’ answer in questionnaire, the data was analysed. The result of the research stated that the students’ perception about combining Google classroom and Google meeting in online learning was very helpful. However, only a few student was saying not effective in combining Google classroom and Google meeting because of the internet connection around his place. The conclusion of the research was the students’ perception in combining Google classroom and Google meeting was helpful to cover only a few part of learning process, like transferring knowledge, even though there are still many part of learning are missing even though by using Google classroom and Google meeting.]]>

<![CDATA[Kegiatan pengabdian ini didasari oleh kebutuhan guru-guru TK dalam membaca sound symbols yang berkaitan dengan pengucapan yang benar pada kosakata bahasa Inggris untuk level dini yang akan terus diingat oleh peserta didik pada usia ini. Berdasarkan analisis tersebut, pengucapan sebagian besar guru-guru TK di sekolah mitra dianggap masih rendah dalam membaca sound symbols bahasa Inggris. Berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan ini, tim merasa perlu untuk melaksanakan kegiatan workshop/pelatihan untuk guru-guru TK Education 21 Kota Pekanbaru yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca sound symbols berkaitan dengan pengucapan yang benar. Kegiatan ini akan dilakukan dalam 2 sesi. Pada sesi pertama, guru-guru TK di sekolah mitra diberikan pembekalan ilmu tentang sound symbols, dan contoh kosakata pada level usia dini/TK. Selanjutnya, pada sesi kedua, guru-guru TK di sekolah mitra tersebut akan diberikan waktu untuk menjawab pertanyaan sound symbols disertai dengan contoh. Dengan adanya kegiatan ini, tim pelaksana kegiatan menargetkan dan berharap agar guru-guru bahasa Inggris di sekolah mitra mampu mengucapkan kosakata sesuai dengan sound symbols dengan benar dan dapat menerapkannya di kelas.]]>

<![CDATA[English pronunciation should be taught effectively during pandemic in online learning. In classroom management, android application as learning media is one of the solutions in classroom management to help the learners practice pronunciation in English Phonology class. This study can help teachers evaluate classroom management for future learning in EFL during the Covid-19 pandemic for English pronunciation issues more accurately than before. This study aims at investigating EFL students’ perception of classroom management in online learning in the English pronunciation class during the covid-19 pandemic by applying android application as learning media. The method of the research was descriptively quantitative. The sample of this research was 34 students. The instrument for this research was a set of questionnaire of 20 questions delivering to the students by Google form. After getting the data based on the students’ answer in questionnaire, the data was analysed. The data analyzed by counting the percentage of each option of four, and give description on it. The result of the research stated that the students’ perception about classroom management in applying android application as learning in online learning was very helpful since it supported the students’ learning while using android application. However, only a few student was saying not helping them because this application only available in android mobile phone not in the IOS. The conclusion of the research was the students’ perception in classroom management in online learning was helpful themselves to learn English pronunciation by applying android application.]]>

<![CDATA[Kegiatan pengabdian diadakan di SDIT Fadhilah yang meminta Tim untuk memberi kegiatan pelatihan tentang teknik mengajar yang efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berliterasi siswa. Oleh karena itu, tim perlu mengadakan kegiatan pelatihan penerapan teknik pengajaran story telling untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru untuk mengajar dikelas dan menstimulasi keterampilan berliterasi siswa. Berdasarkan analisis tersebut, pelatihan penerapan teknik mengajar story telling dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam mengajar dan menstimulasi keterampilan berliterasi siswa untuk memenuhi tuntutan kemampuan berliterasi sesuai dengan karakteristik perkembangan abad 21 di SDIT Fadhilah. Kegiatan pelatihan ini terbagi ke dalam 2 sesi. Pada sesi pertama, para peserta diberikan pembekalan tentang informasi teknik pengajaran story telling dengan materi kelas 3 unit 5. Selanjutnya, pada sesi kedua, para peserta pelatihan diberikan lembar kerja dengan langkah-langkah menyusun sebuah story telling sesuai dengan mata pelajaran yang diajarkan para peserta pelatihan ini. Pelatihan ini berjalan lancar dan para peserta sangat antusias bertanya dan memberi tanggapan terkait teknik pengajaran story telling ini.]]>

<![CDATA[Social semiotics is the study of a group of objects, events, culture, and so on in society as a sign with a specific meaning. This is extremely beneficial when it comes to the selection and production of educational materials in schools for 21st century skill. This study aims to describe the urgency of social semiotic considerations in the selection of learning material as printed-based literacy in English language teaching in schools for 21st century skill. This study used a qualitative method research. The subjects of this study were English language teachers in Riau. The data obtained in the form of the results of filling out a questionnaire in the form of choices and short answers in accordance with the objectives of this study. The data collection technique used is a questionnaire via Google form. This study uses qualitative in analyzing the data obtained. Based on this research, the researcher found that the need for consideration of social semiotics in the selection of learning material as printed-based literacy in English language teaching is very necessary. The biggest difficulty is applying social semiotics as a way of making learning material as printed-based literacy in learning English later. However, the textbook still does not use social semiotics learning material as printed-based literacy in English learning. Therefore, the six language components in social semiotics are needed. With the existence of the six language components in the study of social semiotics, it is hoped that teachers will find it easier to select and make learning material as printed-based literacy in the school environment]]>

<![CDATA[The researchers need in evaluating teacher’s belief in teaching EFL learners by online learning during pandemic. Online learning is different from face to face learning so that the researcher interested in doing this research. The aim of the research is about teacher’s belief in doing online learning for EFL learner during pandemic covid-19. The descriptive research was conducted in this research. There were 18 EFL teachers randomly filled the questionnaire distributed in Google form. To collect the data, all teachers were asked to fill the 12 questions of questionnaire. Next, to analyze the data, the researcher made some analysis based on questionnaire about teacher’ belief in online learning. In this research, the result indicated that teacher’s belief about the planning of online learning from analyzing learner’s need. It can be seen from most of the teachers give response “agree and strongly agree” in understanding the aim, operating the online media, in analyzing learner’s need in supporting online learning.]]>

<![CDATA[Today’s literacy requirements call for adept readers to be able to do more than just “read between the lines”. Creativity is very important since the changing era and development technology in online learning. The aim of research is teacher’s creativity in designing online learning activities to foster literacy for students in higher education level. The method of this research was descriptive qualitative research. In data collection techniques, researchers used online questionnaire techniques to obtain information. The questionnaire in this study was organized into 10 open-ended statements, compiled in a Google form to make it easier for researchers to obtain research data. In the data analysis technique, the researcher continued the analysis by looking at the answers to the questions that were distributed to the Google form. The result of this research showed that most of the lecturers understand the concept of “creativity” quite well. The findings of this result showed that several lecturers respond this question about the notion of “creativity” based on their own experiences and elaborate some teaching techniques, various media, and some gadget application to refresh students’ interest on the subject. The conclusion of this research was the way of teacher’s creativity in online learning activities to foster literacy for students like firstly know about the notion of creative to foster students’ literacy given by the respondent as a teacher, the way of creating creativity in online learning activities to foster literacy for students.]]>
