Abstract

The study was aimed at evaluating the effect of feeding Clitoria ternatea hay and silage on nutrient intake and digestibility of Ongole cattle. There 12 Ongole cattle of 2-2.5 years old with 192-248.5 kg (avg 209.08 kg), CV (16,71%) initial body weight were used in the study. The cattle were randomly allotted into the 4 treatment diets offered based on Block design of 4 treatments and 3 replicates procedure. The 4 treatment diets offered were formulated as: R0: local grass ad libitum + polard 1% BW (control); R1: local grass ad libitum + polard 1% BW + 1% BW of Clitoria ternatea silage; R2: local grass ad libitum + polard 1% BW + 1% BW of Clitoria ternatea hay. Statistically analysis shows that, effect of feeding 1% BW of Clitoria ternatea hay and silage is significant (P<0.05) on crude protein, fat and gross energy intake, and on dry matter, organic matter, protein, and fat, crude fiber, NFE and energy digestibility values, but not significant (P>0.05) on dry matter, organic matter, crude fiber and NFE intake. Feeding hay performed higher results than feeding silage in both nutrient intake and digestibility of Ongole cattle. ABSTRAK Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian Clitoria ternatea dalam bentuk silase dan hay terhadap konsumsi, kecernaan nutrien pada ternak sapi Ongole. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan Ternak sebanyak 12 ekor sapi Ongole, dengan umur ternak 2 - 2,5 tahun dengan kisaran berat badan 192 kg – 248,5 kg dengan rataan 209,08 kg, KV (16,71%). Ternak sapi secara acak dibagi dalam tiga kelompok perlakuan menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) dengan 3 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah R0: rumput alam ad libitum + polard 1% BB sebagai control, R1: rumput alam ad libitum + polard 1% BB + 1% BB silase Clitoria ternatea R2: rumput alam ad libitum + polard 1% BB + 1% BB hay Clitoria ternatea. Hasil penelitian menunjukan Pemberian pakan Clitoria ternatea dalam bentuk Silase 1% BB dan Hay 1%BB berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi bahan kering, bahan organik, serat kasar, BETN, namun berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap protein kasar, lemak kasar dan energi pada ransum sapi Ongole. Dan Pemberian pakan Clitoria ternatea dalam bentuk Silase dan Hay 1% BB berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kecernaan bahan kering, bahan organik, protein kasar, lemak kasar, serat kasar, BETN dan energi pada ransum sapi Ongole. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukan perlakuan yang lebih berpengaruh adalah pakan hay Clitoria ternatea lebih baik dari pada silase terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan nutrisi ternak sapi Ongole.

Abstract

The present study aimed at evaluating the production and economic performances of Bali cattle fattened on traditional system. Seventeen farmers and thirty six cattle were randomly interviewed and observed, respectively. The collected data were analyzed for the average and standard deviation. 12 forages species were used to fatten Bali cattle in traditional system. Feed compositions were calculated in % fresh weight as followed: Leucaena leucocephala 85.2 ± 13.13; Sesbania grandiflora 5.49 ± 7.31; Ficus sp 2.92 ± 6.2; Musa paradisiacal stem 2.52 ±4.22; Acacia leucophloea 1.33 ± 3.79; Manihot utilisima stem 1.17 ±3.04; Brousonetia papyritera 0.52 ±1.18; Timonius timun 0.38 ±0.97; Hibiscus rosasinensis 0.37 ±1.06, and Melochiaum bellata 0.28 ±0.70. The average of daily feeds offered to cattle were: 19.923 ± 6.44 kg. It can be concluded that majority feeds offered to cattle were forages as protein sources, however still below the daily nutrients requirement. Therefore, it is recommended that additional of edible feeds are required to meet the animal needs. ABSTRAK Suatu penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui komposisi botani dan jumlah pemberian pakan sapi bali penggemukan pada kondisi peternak. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adaah metode survey (wawancara dan observasi). Sebanyak 17 orang peternak sebagai responden dan 36 ekor ternak sapi penggemukan diambil secara acak untuk observasi. Data dianalisis dengan menghitung rataan dan simpangan baku. Hasil analisis data diperoleh bahwa komposisi botani (persen dasar bahan segar) yaitu lamtoro (Leucaena leucocephala)85.2 ± 13.13, turi (Sesbania grandiflora ) 5,49± 7,31, beringin (Ficus sp ) 2,92 ± 6,2, batang pisang (Musa paradisiacal)2,52 ±4,22, kabesak (Acacia leucophloea ) 1,33 ± 3,79, batang ubi kayu (Manihot utilisima) 1,17 ±3,04, kname/babui (Brousonetia papyritera) 0,52 ±1,18, timo (Timonius timun)0,38 ±0,97, kembang sepatu (Hibiscus rosasinensis) 0,37 ±1,06, dan busi (Melochiaum bellata ) 0,28 ±0,70; Rata-rata jumlah pemberian pakan 19,923 ± 6,44 kg/ekor/hari. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa komposisi botani didominansi oleh hijauan pohon sebagai sumber protein dan dengan jumlah pemberian pakan yang cukup akan tetapi belum memisahkan bagian edibel dan non edibel sehingga berpotensi pada pertambahan berat badan yang rendah.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of feeding concentrate with and without corncob flour on respiration rate, heart rate and rectal temperature of fattening Bali cattle. Six- two years old male Bali cattle (initial body weight 101,5-120 kg, SD= 15,114%) were used in the study following a Latin Square Design with 3 treatments and 3 period. Feed treatments offered were: P1 = Breeder pattern (Leucena leucocephala, Ceiba pentandra gaertn leaf and grass) ad libitum, P2 = P1 + concentrate feed without corn starch 1 kg, and P3 = P1 + concentrate feed containing corncob flour. The results showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on the respiratory rate, heart rate and rectal temperature. Therefore, feeding corncob concentrate to male Bali cattle had no significant effect on respiratory rate, heart rate and rectal temperature. ABSTRAK Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pakan konsentrat dengan dan tanpa tepung tongkol jagung terhadap frekuensi pernafasan, denyut jantung dan suhu rektal pada sapi Bali penggemukan. Sebanyak 6 ekor sapi Bali jantan dengan umur berkisar 1,5-2 tahun (berat badan 101,5-120 kg, KV= 15,114%) ditempatkan secara acak mengikuti pola Rancangan Bujur Sangkar Latin (RBSL) dengan 3 perlakuan dan 3 periode. Perlakuan yang dicobakan adalah: P1= Pola peternak (Lamtoro, daun kapuk dan rumput) ad libitum, P2 = P1 + pakan konsentrat tanpa tepung tongkol jagung 1 kg, dan P3= P1+ pakan konsentrat mengandung tepung tongkol jagung. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap frekuensi pernafasan, denyut jantung dan suhu rektal. Karena itu, pemberian konsentrat tepung tongkol jagung, tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap frekuensi pernafasan denyut jantung dan suhu rektal sapi Bali jantan.

Abstract

The experiment goal was to determine the supplementation effect of katuk leaves meal and Zn bio complex on dry and organic matter consumption and digestibility of postweaning male of Ettawa Crossbred. The experiment used sixteen heads of the postweaning male of Ettawa Crossbred aged 4-5 months with an initial body weight of 9.01±1.85kg (CV 20.55%). Completely Block Randomized Design (CBRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replications were applied in this experiment. Those treatments were P0: Lamtoro + concentrate without katuk leaves meal and Zn biocomplex (control); P1: P0 + 5% katuk leaves meal (on the basis of forage dry matter) and Zn bio complex; P2: P0 + 10% katuk leaves meal (on the basis of forrage dry matter) and Zn bio complex; P3: P0 + 15% katuk leaves meal (on the basis of forage dry matter) and Zn bio complex. Variables measured were dry matter (DM) consumption, organic matter (OM) consumption, DM digestibility, and OM digestibility. Average of DM consumption were P0 (326.68 ±44.13g/h/d), P1 (351.68±63.47g/h/d), P2 (351.78±33.41g/h/d) and P3 (346.24±32.48g/h/d). Average of OM consumption were, P0 (300.38 ±41.14g/h/d), P1 (316.11±57.05g/h/d), P2 (315.54±30.83g/h/d) and P3 (309.21±29.00g/h/d). Average of DM digestibility, P0 (78.94 ±4.67%), P1 (78.77±9.54%), P2 (64.82±11.45%), P3 (75.38±14.56%). Average of OM digestibility, P0 (81.17±4.01%), P1 (80.77±8.69%), P2 (68.79±9.90%), and P3 (76.93±12.77%). The result of variance analysis showed that treatment has a significant effect (P<0.05) on dry and organic matter consumption but no significant (P>0.05) on dry and organic matter digestibility It can be concluded that supplementation of of katuk leaf meal (Sauropus androgynus L. Merr) at 5% up to 15% and Zn bio complex might increase dry and organic matter consumption of postweaning male of Ettawa crossbred.

Abstract

The study was carried out at the UPT Dryland Field Laboratory, Nusa Cendana University from January 17 toApril 1, 2021. This study was conducted to examine the effect of feeding a combination of corn straw silage andconcentrate on consumption and energy digestibility and the BETN of fattening bali cattle. The test was carried outon 12 male Bali feeder cattle aged 1-1,5 years with a body weight of 66-93 kg and an average of 80,16 kg (KV10,28%). This study was designed using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3replications. The treatments in this study were P0 = 80% corn straw silage + 20% concentrate, P1 = 60% cornstraw silage + 40% concentrate, P2 = 40% corn straw silage + 60% concentrate, P3 = 20% corn straw silage +80% concentrate. The results showed that the consumption of BETN (g/h/d) P0 = 1330,99 P1 = 1307,12, P2 =1198,48, P3 = 1378,46, Energy consumption (Kcal/h/d) P0 = 10,796, P1 =10,451, P2=9,587, P3=11,032, BETNDigestibility (%) P0=74,46, P1=77,04, P2=77,70, P3=78,96, Energy Digestibility P0=73,59, P1=75,85, P2=77,07,P3=77,96. The analysis of diversity showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P˃0,05) on theconsumption and digestibility of energy and BETN for fattening Bali cattle. Conclusion : Combination of 80% cornstraw silage with 20% concentrate can be used in the ration because it has an effect in reducing the use ofconcentrate. Penelitian dilaksanakan di UPT Laboratorium Lapangan Lahan Kering, Universitas Nusa Cendana dari tanggal 17Januari - 1 April 2021. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menguji pengaruh pemberian pakan kombinasi silase jeramijagung dan konsentrat terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan energi serta BETN sapi bali penggemukan. Pengujiandilakukan terhadap Sapi Bali jantan bakalan umur 1-1,5 tahun sebanyak 12 ekor dengan bobot badan 66-93 kg danrataan 80,16 kg (KV 10,28%). Penelitian ini dirancang menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini adalah P0= 80% silase Jerami jagung + 20% konsentrat,P1= 60% Silase Jerami jagung + 40% konsentrat , P2= 40% silase Jerami jagung + 60% konsentrat , P3= 20%Silase Jerami jagung+ 80% konsentrat. Hasil penelitian diperoleh menunjukkan konsumsi BETN (g/e/h)P0=1330,99 P1=1307,12, P2= 1198,48, P3=1378,46, Konsumsi energi (Kkal/e/h) P0=10,796, P1=10,451, P2=9,587,P3=11,032, Kecernaan BETN (%) P0=74,46, P1=77,04, P2=77,70, P3=78.96, Kecernaan Energi P0=73,59, P1=75,85,P2=77,07, P3=77,96. Analisis keragaman menunjukkan perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P˃0,05) terhadapkonsumsi dan kecernaan Energi serta BETN Sapi Bali penggemukan. Kesimpulan : Kombinasi silase jerami jagung80% dengan konsentrat 20% dapat digunakan dalam ransum karena berefek dalam mengurangi penggunaankonsentrat.

Abstract

The experiment aims to determine the effect of substitution of rice bran with banana peel flour at different levelsinfocus feed on the utilization and digestibility of rough protein and unrefined fiber in male Bali cattle. This studyutilized 4 male Bali steers matured 1.5 to 2 years with a weight of 87.5 to 100.5 kg with an average of 98.0 kg.Thestrategy utilized is the exploratory technique. The design used was the Latin square design (LSD) with fourtreatments and four periods as replications. The treatment in this study was P0., Kume grass + 1 kg concentrate feed(60% rice bran) P1., Kume grass + 1 kg concentrate feed (substitution of bran with 20% banana peel), P2 = Kumegrass + 1 kg feed concentrate (substitution of bran with 40% banana peel), P3., Kume grass + 1 kg of feedconcentrate (substitution of bran with 60% banana peel). The variable examined in this studi were utilization andabsorbability. The information got was determined utilizing examination of fluctuation (ANOVA). The results ofstatistical analysis showed that the treatment of crude fiber consumption had a very significant effect (P<0.01), buthad no significant effect P>0.05 on PK consumption, PK digestibility and crude fiber. Conclusion: Banana peel flourcan replace rice bran up to 100 g % of the proportion of 60% rice bran in the concentrate feed mixture because itprovides a decreased consumption of crude fiber and consumption andunrefined protein, a similar edibility and roughprotein in rough fiber in male bali cows that consume kume grass basal feed. Tujuan dari penelitian ini agar dapat melihat pengaruh substitusi dedak padi dengan tepung kulit pisang pada levelyang berbeda dalam pakan konsentrat terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan protein kasar serta serat kasar sapi Balijantan. Penelitian ini menggunakan sapi Bali jantan 4 ekor berumur 1,5 sampai 2 tahun dengan bobot 87, 5 sampai100,5 kg dengan rataan 98,0 kg.. Rancangan yang digunakan rancangan bujur sangkar latin (RBSL) dengan 4perlakuan dan 4 periode sebagai ulangan Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini adalah P0., Rumput kume + 1 kg pakankonsentrat(60 % dedak padi) P1., Rumput kume + 1 kg pakan konsentrat (substitusi dedak dengan 20% kulitpisang),P2 = Rumput kume + 1 kg pakan konsentrat (substitusi dedak dengan 40% kulit pisang), P3., Rumput kume +1 kg pakan konsentrat (substitusi dedak dengan 60% kulit pisang). Variabel yang diteliti yaitu konsumsi dankecernaan (protein kasar serta serat kasar). Data yang didapatkan dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam (analysis ofvariance/ANOVA). Hasil analisis statistik menyatakan perlakuan terhadap konsumsi serat kasar berpengaruh sangatnyata (P0,01), tetapi berpengaruh tidak nyata P0,05 terhadap konsumsi PK, kecernaan PK dan serat kasarKesimpulan: Tepung kulit pisang dapat menggantikan dedak padi sampai 100% dari proporsi dedak padi 60% dalamcampuran konsentrat karena memberikan konsumsi serat kasar yang menurun serta konsumsi protein kasar,kecernaan protein kasar dan serat kasar yang sama pada sapi Bali jantan yang mengkonsumsi pakan basal rumputkume.

Abstract

This study aims to see the effect of EM4 levels and fermentation time on changes in the content of dry matter, organic matter, crude fiber and nitrogen-free extracts from corn cobs. The experimental design used was accomplete random design with a 3 x 2 factorial pattern which was repeated 3 times. The first factor, the EM-4 levels, are A1:10ml, A2:15ml and A3:20ml. The second factor, the fermentation time B1:7 days and B2:14 days. The research using a combination of EM4 levels treatment and fermentation time resulted in dry matter content that varied from 73.83%-76.27%, organic matter varied from 88.43%-89.78%, crude fiber varied from 26.87%-28.89% and the NFE varied from 60.30%-61.94%, while the results of the analysis of variance showed that there was no interaction (P>0.05) between the two factors on the content of dry matter, organic matter, fiber rude and NFE. However, a single factor at the EM-4 level had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on the dry matter content, had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the crude fiber content and had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the organic matter content and NFE. While the duration of fermentation had a significant effect (P<0.05) on organic matter content, but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the other three parameters. From the research results, it can be concluded that there is no best combination of treatment between the two factors for all parameters. The use of different EM4 levels for corncob flour fermentation can reduce the content of dry matter and crude fiber, while the organic matter and NFE are relatively the same for each EM4 level. The length of time of fermentation can increase the content of organic matter while the other three parameters are relatively the same. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh level EM4 dan lama waktu fermentasi terhadap perubahan kandungan bahan kering, bahan organik, serat kasar dan bahan ektrak tandpa nitrogen tongkol jagung. Adapun rancangan percobaan yang digunakan yaitu rancangan acak lengkap pola factorial 3 x 2 yang diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Faktor pertama, level EM-4 yaitu A1:10ml, A2:15ml dan A3:20ml. Faktor kedua, lama waktu fermentasi terdiri dari B1:7hari dan B2:14hari. Hasil penelitian dengan kombinasi perlakuan level EM4 dan lama fermentasi dihasilkan kandungan bahan kering yang bervariasi dari 73,83%-76,27%, bahan organik bervariasi dari 88,43%-89,78%, serat kasar bervariasi 26,87%-28,89% dan BETN bervariasi dari 60,30%-61,94%. Hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan tidak terdapat interaksi (P>0,05) antara kedua faktor  terhadap kandungan bahan kering, bahan organik, serat kasar dan BETN. Akan tetapi, faktor tunggal level EM-4 berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap kandungan bahan kering, berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kandungan serat kasar dan tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap kandungan bahan organik dan BETN. Sedangkan lama waktu fermentasi berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kandungan bahan organik, namun tidak berpengaruh (P>0,05) terhadap ketiga parameter lainnya. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa, belum terdapat kombinasi perlakuan terbaik  antara kedua faktor terhadap semua parameter. Penggunaan level EM4 yang berbeda untuk fermentasi tepung tongkol jagung dapat menurunkan kandungan bahan kering dan serat kasar, sedangkan bahan organik dan BETN relative sama untuk masing-masing level EM4. Lama waktu fermentasi dapat meningkatkan kandungan bahan organik sedangkan ketiga parameter lainnya relatife sama.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan Untuk mengetahui pengaruh level penggunaan premix dalam pakan komplit mengandung limbah isi rumen fermentasi terhadap kadar kolesterol hemoglobin dan trigliserida darah sapi bali jantan bakalan. Penelitian ini memggunakan 4 ekor sapi bali jantan pada kisaran umur 1-1,5 tahun dengan kisaran berat badan 69-74 kg dengan rataan 72.87 kg. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode experiment, menggunakan Rancangan Bujur Sangkar Latin (RBSL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Adapun perlakuan dalam penelitian ini adalah: P0 : Pakan komplit mengandung limbah isi rumen tanpa premix (kontrol), P1 : Pakan komplit mengandung limbah isi rumen + 0,5% premix, P2 : Pakan komplit mengandung limbah isi rumen + 1,0% premix, P3 : Pakan komplit mengandung limbah isi rumen + 1,5%  premix. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam atau sidik ragam. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh kadar kolesterol darah (mg/dl) P0; 161,91±2,9, P1; 164,88±4,4, P2; 168,12±7,1, P3; 167,06±5,4, kadar hemoglobin darah (g/dl) P0; 11,11±0,4, P1; 10,99±0,6, P2; 10,91±0,7, P3; 10,78±0,6, kadar trigliserida darah (mg/dl) P0; 70,74±3,4, P1; 72,59±3,7, P2; 72,80±3,1, P3; 72,14±2,8. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata (p>0,05) terhadap kadar kolesterol, hemolobin dan trigliserida darah pada sapi Bali jantan bakalan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu penambahan premix dengan level yang berbeda dalam pakan komplit mengandung limbah isi rumen sapi fermentasi, memberikan pengaruh yang sama p>0.05 antar perlakuan terhadap kadar kolesterol, haemoglobin dan trigliserida darah sapi bali jantan bakalan
