Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the use of Auto-play Media to Improve Students’ Speaking Performance at SMAS Darul Hikmah Mataram. This research was classroom action research and focused on improving of the students’ speaking performance by using Auto-play Media. This research consisted of one cycle including all aspects of classroom action research model such as: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. In this research, the researcher took the XI IPS of SMAS Darul Hikmah Mataram. The instrument that used by the researcher in this study were test, observation and recording to measure the students speaking performance in deep analysis model.  Based on the result of data analysis, the mean score of students’ achievement during the primary observation was 45.05, meanwhile on pre-test and the percentage was merely 21.05% and post-test showed the students speaking performance increased into 79.36, with percentage score was 78.94%. Therefore, the researcher concluded that the score of the students’ speaking performance was increased after treated using auto-play and it was higher than minimum Complete Criteria Success (KKM), in which the KKM of SMAS Darul Hikmah Mataram was 75. Therefore, it could be underlined that this research was successfully in increasing the students’ speaking performance especially at SMAS Darul Hikmah Mataram

Abstract

This research is aimed to find out the types and process of borrowing words and frictions in the borrowing word from English into Indonesian language in Sport column of Tempo weekly magazine. The writer uses descriptive qualitative method and describes one by one the borrowing words from English. Then the writer analyzes those words, which are experienced the change of meaning, such as in Extension, Narrowing, and equal in meaning. And also the writer analyzes the type, such as loanword and loanblend. To support the analysis, the writer uses some dictionaries, such as Merriam Webster Dictionaryand Kamus KataSerapan Asing dalam Bahasa Indonesia and other related references. As the conclusion, the writer found the borrowing words from English into Indonesia. The writer concludes there are types of borrowing words process such as loanwords and loan blend. In addition, the process that presented in this research is the changes of meaning such as extension, narrowing, and same in meaning. But the writer didn’t find regeneration and degeneration process in those borrowing words.

Abstract

These problems gave birth to opinions about why certain tourism actors, particularly those who offer snorkeling at Nara Bay, Malaka Village, North Lombok Regency, are unable to learn English and excellence service. If we go deeper, we find that the lack of exposure to English and English is the main cause of the issue. The scarcity of English language training facilities that offer opportunities for language exposure poses a challenge for local tourism players. This activity uses mentoring and training for English language proficiency as well as guiding strategies for Snorkeling Guides. At the end of the training, 100% of participants used the language function in accompanying tourists and 100% had mastered guiding techniques in accordance with existing procedures such as explaining each function of snorkeling equipment, explaining how to breathe using a mask and demonstrating how to enter the water and swim using a mask. Snorkel your advice visitors not to handle potentially harmful marine life.
