Abstract

Indonesia, as a country with two-thirds of the ocean, is located at the confluence of three major tectonic plates, namely Indo-Australia, Pacific and Eurasia, making it vulnerable to natural disasters such as megathrusts on the west and south coasts and megathrusts in the north and east that can trigger tsunamis. Lampung Province is one of the areas with high disaster risk based on the Indonesian Disaster Prone Index (IRBI). Therefore, the government has adopted the Destana program as a community-based disaster risk reduction effort. Sukaraja Village, located in South Lampung Regency, faces disaster threats such as landslides, tidal floods and tsunamis. The Destana program has been implemented in this village since 2012 by the South Lampung Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD). To evaluate this program, this community service uses the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model which includes evaluating the context, input, process, and product of the program with mixed methods. The results of community service show that the objectives of the Destana program in Sukaraja Village are appropriate in dealing with disaster risk. Although there are still some efforts that have not been implemented and unmet deficiencies in program resources and strategies, the Destana program as a whole has been running well. However, there are shortcomings in terms of issuing a Decree (SK) that supports Destana activities, which has an impact on access to village funds. Monitoring and evaluation of this program has been carried out by BPBD, but not yet by village officials. Sukaraja Village has shown results in implementing the Disaster Resilient Village program since 2012, although there are still aspects that need to be improved.

Abstract

Pagar Jaya Village is a coastal area at the southernmost tip of Sumatra Island and isolated in Punduh Pidada District, Pesawaran Regency, Lampung becoming one of the tourism villages in Lampung that has two main problems poor accessibility and low capacity of the community. As a result of this problem, the "KITA PAGAR JAYA" program has successfully enhanced the community’s capacity in tourism, particularly in the area of tourism branding. This program itself is implemented with Sadar Wisata and Sapta Pesona approaches. It was developed on 4 stages, first stage is potential and problem identification, second stage is delivering material about tourism management, the third is about MSMEs and branding knowledge, and the last stage is about evaluation of tourism management to develop sustainable system in Pagar Jaya Tourism. The implication of this program is to enhance the local community’s capacity to manage tourism by focusing on Sadar Wisata, Sapta Pesona, and disaster management. As a result, more community members are joining the Pagar Jaya Village Tourism Awareness Group and MSMEs to help with tourism management. The program also includes creating promotional materials like pocketbooks, tourism videos, and social media campaigns to enhance the branding of Pagar Jaya Village.

Abstract

The development of a city occurs along with the development and changes in land that are triggered by the dynamics of the population. Population dynamics can occur as a result of births, deaths and population movements that affect changes in the number, composition and growth of the population. This study aims to identify the impact of population dynamics on spatial patterns. To achieve these objectives, this research uses mixed methods, namely quantitative methods combined with qualitative methods. To determine the impact of population dynamics on spatial patterns, this study uses simple linear regression analysis. Research on this analysis uses the variable Population Dynamics as an independent variable that gives effect. Also using the variables of changes in spatial patterns, that receive the impact of influential variables. The results of the regression analysis of the impact of population dynamics on spatial patterns show that population dynamics only have an effect of 26.7% on spatial pattern changes. This analysis proves that population dynamics do not have a significant impact on spatial patterns. The initial hypothesis of this study, namely population dynamics has an impact on spatial patterns and spatial structure, has been proven through regression analysis that this hypothesis can be accepted because population dynamics has an impact on spatial pattern, although it is not significant.

Abstract

Regional development is an effort made to encourage economic development in achieving prosperity. Welfare is influenced through supply and demand. One of the supply and demand is the existence of educational facilities. Educational facilities are able to provide positive externalities. The education facility in question is the UIN RIL college located in Sukarame District, Bandar Lampung City. Before changing its status to UIN RIL, the existence of the campus had not affected the surrounding economic activities. However, since the increase in status from 2017 to 2022, slowly there have been many developments such as the conversion of land that was previously empty land such as rice fields and shrubs to turned into built-up land such as stalls, grocery stores, photocopies, and so on. This study aims to determine the impact of the existence of UIN RIL on the economic conditions of the people in Sukarame District. This research was conducted by considering two conditions, namely the conditions in 2017 before the increase in status and the current conditions after the existence of UIN RIL until now, namely 2022. This research uses a quantitative deductive approach that is oriented based on variables obtained from the literature review. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and observation. The results showed that the existence of UIN RIL had positive and negative impacts on economic conditions. These positive impacts include increasing employment opportunities, increasing basic and additional income, and increasing asset ownership. While the negative impact is the increase in the amount of public spending. This study also identified the level of impact through scalogram analysis which resulted in Sukarame and Way Dadi Sub-Districts being areas with the highest economic impact due to the existence of UIN RIL.

Abstract

Abstract

One area that has the potential for local economic development is Batu Kebayan Village, West Lampung Regency. Batu Kebayan Village has various potentials, especially in the field of coffee productivity, but this is still not optimal because it still has various limitations including the need for capital support in processing land and infrastructure; policies that are still inconsistent; and the lack of public interest in buying processed coffee products and lack of promotion. The approach used in this research is a deductive research approach with the analytical technique used in the form of a combination of qualitative descriptive analysis and factor analysis. The data collection method in this study used primary data collection techniques (open interviews and observations). The results obtained from this study are based on the results of the analysis on targets regarding the characteristics of local economic development, found various potentials that support local economic development based on robusta coffee productivity. However, to support this, it is necessary to increase the processing of production products that are not yet optimal, as well as improve road infrastructure to the plantation location.

Abstract

Fulfilling the lives of Indonesian people in coastal villages requires a direct active role from the community, government, community institutions and the private sector. One of the fishery processing industries which has great potential is in Maja Village with processed fishery products produced in the form of processed salted fish. Rural communities can play a direct role in solving problems according to regional conditions, and the government can provide assistance and management in realizing local economic sustainability. Sustainable development is access to the basic necessities of life to ensure that people can be economically, socially and politically active in their communities, so attention needs to be given to development and the provision of socio-economic facilities to stem the rate of rural-urban migration. Data collected from interviews, observations and documentation were then processed by identifying value chain activities in the salted fish processing industry in Maja Village and village economic sustainability competencies from each value chain in the salted fish processing industry. The identification results show that in marketing there is still collector intervention which reduces processor profits. For this reason, the sales chain through collectors needs to be stopped. In realizing local economic sustainability, several components that need to be improved are the quality of human resources in the fish processing community and the placement of the right people in each salted fish processing chain. Collaboration with partners who provide regular coaching to improve the quality and diversification of salted fish products. The final component is involving the entire fish processing community in every main and supporting actor in salted fish processing, so that they can work together with the same vision.
