Abstract

Phytoplankton is a biological parameter that can be used as an indicator to evaluate the quality and level of fertility of a water. Changes in water quality as a result of the large load of nutrients entering the Ciliwung River will affect the life of phytoplankton. This study aims to see the comparative index of diversity (H ') and the Dominant Index (D) of phytoplankton in Ciliwung River from upstream to downstream. The study was conducted from December 2016 to February 2017 from upstream to downstream of the Ciliwung River. From the index analysis of diversity and index of dominance, there was a significant difference, where the downward index of diversity (H ') of phytoplankton was lower, ranged between 1,21 and 2,6 (the index of diversity ranging from low to medium).  Otherwise, the dominance index showed the opposite result. The more downstream the dominance index is higher than the upstream, ranged between 0,09 and 0,68. Thus the index of diversity and the index of phytoplankton dominance has a relationship inversely. Differences of diversity index and dominance index in upstream to downstream poses an imbalance of ecosystem in Ciliwung River.             Keywords: Ciliwung, diversity index, Dominant Index, Phytoplankton

Abstract

Spirulina is blue green algae that have high nutrient content like protein and vitamin so itcan beused as source ofsingle cell protein (SCP). This research was conductedto know minimum doses of Spirulina in different protein feed on growth performance of tilapia. Experimental diets devided by two different protein level (25% of protein and 28% of protein) and three levels supplementation of Spirulina 0% (25A), protein level 25% supplementedSpirulina 3% (25B), protein level 25% supplementedSpirulina 6% (25C), protein level 28% supplementedSpirulina 0% (28A), protein level 28% suplemented Spirulina 3% (28B), and protein level 28% supplementedSpirulina 6% (28C). Testeds feedwere tilapia with average initial weight 17,24±0,29 g and density five fish/aquarium. Tilapia rearedin aquarium sized 50×40×35 cm3 filledwith 30 cm waterand provided altrecirculation system. Fish were cultured for 40 days and fed at satiation with three times feeding frequency. All data analyzed statistically by one-way ANOVA.Result demonstrated that various dosesof Spirulina in different protein level of feed influencedspecific growth rate, feeding efficiency, protein deposition, and fat deposition. Fish were fed by feed containing Spirulina 3% in protein level 25% showed growth performance as same as fed of protein level 28%. Keywords: feed protein, Spirulina, growth performance, tilapia

Abstract

Ikan badut percula (Amphiprion percula) merupakan salah satu komoditas ikan hias laut bernilai ekonomis tinggi yang banyak dibudidayakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh salinitas terhadap pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup benih ikan badut percula. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Akuakultur Universitas Satya Negara Indonesia dengan perlakuan salinitas berbeda: 30 ppt (kontrol), 26 ppt, 22 ppt, dan 18 ppt. Parameter yang diamati meliputi pertumbuhan panjang dan berat mutlak, tingkat kelangsungan hidup (SR), kadar kortisol, dan kecerahan warna. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa salinitas 18 ppt menghasilkan pertumbuhan terbaik (1,35 cm; 0,36 g) dan SR tertinggi (93%). Namun, salinitas ini juga menyebabkan penurunan kecerahan warna. Salinitas optimal untuk pertumbuhan dan SR ikan badut percula berkisar antara 18–22 ppt.

Abstract

Program normalisasi Sungai Ciliwung menjadi program prioritas pemerintah pusat bersama dengan Pemerintah Provinsi DKI Jakarta yang dimulai sejak tahun 2013. Pemerintah Provinsi (Pemprov) DKI Jakarta menargetkan normalisasi Kali Ciliwung rampung pada tahun 2018 mendatang. Normalisasi bertujuan untuk mengembalikan fungsi sungai dalam menampung, menyimpan dan mengalirkan air yang berasal dari curah hujan ke danau atau ke laut secara alami. Salah satu upaya yang bisa dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi normalisasi adalah dengan memantau kualitas perairan dengan melakukan penelitianmenggunakan indikator biologis seperti plankton dan ikan. Sebelumnya, pada tahun 2016 peneliti telah melakukan penelitian terhadap kelimpahan fitoplankton di Sungai Ciliwung, sehingga perlu dilakukan penelitian lanjutan untuk mengetahui trophic level diatas fitoplankton, yaitu zooplankton. Stasiun pengambilan sampel adalah Sungai Ciliwung bagian hulu sampai dengan hilir. Adapun 10 (sepuluh) stasiun pengamatan yang terbagi atas 3 (tiga) segmen; yaitu Segmen I (Jembatan Gadog, Katulampa, Sentul); segmen II (Kelapa Dua, Kalibata, Kampung Melayu, Manggarai), dan segmen III (Pejompongan, K.H. Mas Mansyur dan Teluk Gong). Pengambilan airdilakukan secara komposit pada tiga titik sampel yangmewakili bagian tengah, tepi kiri, dan tepi kanan sungai.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan, kelas zooplankton yang dapat ditemukan pada semua stasiun adalah Rotifera dan diikuti dengan protozoa. Sementara itu, kelas zooplankton yang paling jarang ditemui di Sungai Ciliwung adalah kelas Gastropoda yang hanya ditemui di stasiun Katulampa. Rotifera yang paling banyak ditemui adalah Asplachna sp. diikuti oleh Brachionus sp.. Sementara itu untuk protozoa, jenis yang paling banyak ditemui adalah Arcella sp. Parameter kualitas air yang berpengaruh terhadap kelimpahan zooplankton pada penelitian ini adalah suhu, Total Suspended Solid (TSS), dan nitrat.

Abstract

Rainbowfish originate from Sulawesi and Papua. These rainbow-like colors fish are becoming increasingly popular. Another unique characteristic of this species is its non-aggressive nature, allowing it to be kept with other fish species in the same aquarium. Enhancing the economic value of rainbowfish can be achieved by improving their color quality to make them more visually appealing. One method to achieve uniform bright coloration is through the supplementation of natural pigment sources in their feed. One such natural pigment source is Spirulina platensis, which contains high levels of beta-carotene. Based on this premise, research is necessary to determine the optimal dosage of S. platensis supplementation for enhancing the color quality of rainbowfish, thereby increasing their aesthetic appeal and market value. The tested S. platensis dosages were 0% (Control), 1%, 2%, and 3%, with four replications. The fish were maintained for five weeks, with sampling conducted weekly. Observed parameters included length growth, absolute biomass growth, and color measurement using M-TCF. The results indicated that, statistically, S. platensis supplementation at doses of 1%–3% had no significant effect on the growth of Boesemani Rainbowfish. However, in terms of color enhancement, the best treatment was observed in Treatment B (2% S. platensis dosage).

Abstract

The water quality in Ciliwung River gives a considerable influence on the survival and growth of biota in the river. The quality of the Ciliwung River is determined by the physical, chemical, and biological properties of the waters of the Ciliwung River. Water quality affects the amount, composition, species diversity, production and physiological state of aquatic organisms such as phytoplankton. Phytoplankton is one of the biological indicators that can be used to evaluate water quality. With the implementation of the river normalization program by the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta, it is necessary to conduct research on the composition of phytoplankton in order to evaluate the quality of the waters. Research is conducted along the Ciliwung River, from upstream to downstream. The sampling location consists of 9 (Nine) stations, namely; Gadog Bridge, Gadog, katulampa, Kelapa Dua, Kalibata, Kampung Melayu, Pejompongan, K.H. Mas Mansyur, and Gong Bay. The results showed that the composition of phytoplankton in the waters of Ciliwung River Year 2017 increased compared to 2008 by Fachrul et al. The compositions were 5 divisions consisting of 45 species, 20 species of Bacillariophyceae, 15 types of Chlorophyceae, 6 types of Cyanophyceae, 3 types Euglenophyceae, and 1 type of Dinophyceae. The types of phytoplankton that dominate the waters of Ciliwung are Scenedesmus sp., Nitzschia sp., Oscillatoria sp., Spirulina sp., And Cyclotella sp.

Abstract

Budidaya ikan adalah upaya campur tangan manusia dalam menumbuhkembangkan ikan dalam lingkungan yang terkontrol. Bahkan biaya terbesar yang dikeluarkan dalam kegiatan budidaya adalah untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pakan yang hampir mencapai 70% dari total biaya produksi. Dalam kegiatan ini, masyarakat diberikan pelatihan pembuatan pakan. Adapun yang menjadi sasaran adalah masyarakat pembudidaya ikan di Karang Tengah, Kota Tangerang, Provinsi Banten. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan penghitungan formulasi pakan sederhana, memberikan pelatihan membuat pakan mandiri dengan menggunakan bahan-bahan yang ada di lingkungan sekitar, meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat untuk dapat manfaatkan bahan-bahan potensial sebagai sumber pakan, mengurangi ketergantungan pembudidaya kepada pakan komersil dan menciptakan masyarakat yang mandiri yang inovatif dalam membudidayakan ikan. Pelatihan pembuatan pakan ikan yang telah dilaksanakan di Kampung Teduh, Karang Tengah, Kota Tangerang berlangsung dengan lancar dan masyarakat pun ikut mencoba. Dengan demikian, upaya tim untuk mendukung program Gerakan Pakan Mandiri (Gerpari) yang dicanangkan Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan dapat diwujudkan.

Abstract

The Citarum watershed, the largest in West Java, has experienced severepressure due to exploitation exceeding its carrying capacity. Therefore,managing the Citarum watershed cannot be done sectorally, but must beintegrated and inclusive of all stakeholders, both within and outsidewatershed, to achieve sustainable development. This requires support fromvarious parties, including academics, by promoting outreach activities. Theimplementation methods include observation, introduction, water qualitytesting, outreach sessions, evaluation, consultation and mentoring, as wellmonitoring. Pre-outreach questionnaire results showed that 70% ofparticipants were aware the impacts of waste and pollution on river life. Allparticipants expressed a desire to maintain the cleanliness of Citarum River,yet only 13% had actively taken part in river clean-up activities. Overall, thepre-outreach findings suggest that while awareness exists, communityparticipation in environmental actions especially in keeping the river cleanremains limited and needs to be increased through continuous education andengagement.
