Abstract

The health of the digestive system affects the human immune system by 70%. Consuming food or drinks that contain probiotics is an effort to maintain digestive tract health which can be obtained from fermented foods and drinks. Tempoyak is a kind of traditional food which is the result of spontaneous fermentation of durian (durio zibethinus) by microorganisms. Mothers are generally not familiar with the term probiotics and do not know the benefits of probiotics, this can be seen from the results of the pre-test questionnaires distributed. Based on personal interviews with 3 breastfeeding mothers at PMB Yustati Ambarita, all of them admitted that they did not dare to eat tempoyak for fear of having an effect on their milk and babies. Not all mothers know that tempoyak contains good bacteria that are beneficial for digestive tract health. This study aims to determine the effect of health education on the knowledge, attitudes and perceptions of breastfeeding mothers regarding tempoyak as a source of probiotics (LAB) for the health of mothers and children. This research method is a quasi-experimental research with a pre-post test one group design. The population of this study were all breastfeeding mothers who had babies aged 0-2 years in the working area of PMB Yustati Ambarita. The sample in this study were all breastfeeding mothers who had babies aged 0-2 years as many as 20 people. Samples were taken by purposive sampling technique. This research was conducted from October 2021 to August 2022 at PMB Yustati Ambarita. The results of the study showed that there was an average increase in the knowledge, attitudes and perceptions of the respondents between before and after being given the intervention in the form of health education. It is hoped that PMB will improve health education programs related to the importance of probiotics during the third trimester of pregnancy. It is hoped that mothers can increase their knowledge about sources of probiotics from local food, especially tempoyak

Abstract

Pregnancy will change many things in the body, including the breasts. In addition to getting bigger, the nipples may become more sensitive than usual. Other changes are related to the glands around the breast area, specifically in the areola. This change is the appearance of lumps in the breasts during pregnancy and breastfeeding. This condition, known as Montgomery's tubercles, is considered normal. The problem encountered in pregnant and lactating women is the lack of understanding of the lumps that appear in the area, so the purpose of this activity is to provide understanding and increase knowledge about Montgomery tubercles in RT 03 Mekarjaya Village, Muaro Jambi Regency. In the form of counseling with a time of approximately 40 minutes and preceded by a pre test and ending with a post test, using a questionnaire. This activity was carried out in October 2021. The community service method used a survey approach, lectures, discussions and sharing experiences on matters related to the problem of the appearance of lumps in the areola of the mammary. The results obtained are that mothers understand about the Montgomery glands and do not need to worry about it. If there are no signs and symptoms that point to breast cancer then there is no need to worry. The next activity needs to optimize how to care for the breasts themselves for pregnant and lactating women. This activity will of course be included in the Abdimas Health Journal as an output.

Abstract

Infectious or infectious diseases are certain diseases (infections) that can pass from one person to another, either directly or indirectly . Until now, the world is facing a pandemic of infectious diseases, namely Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19). This disease is an outbreak in almost all countries, both developed and developing countries. One of the efforts to break the chain of transmission is through the implementation of health protocols by implementing the 3M protocol, namely washing hands, using masks and maintaining distance.   This service aims to increase awareness of residents, especially mothers and children in RT 36 to always comply with health protocols with the implementation of 3M so that Covid-19 cases do not occur in the RT 36 Mayang Mangurai area. The method of implementing PKM is to provide education and demonstrations on how to wash hands properly, distribute leaflets on how to open and install the correct masks, and distribute cloth masks to participating mothers in the number of 30 people. As a result of this service, mothers and children can re-demonstrate how to properly open and install masks (6 0%), demonstrate how to wash hands properly (60%), increase knowledge about preventing the transmission of COVID-19.     Especially for mothers, mothers are starting to realize and want to continue to comply with health protocols so that the health of all residents of RT 36 continues to improve. It is hoped that residents will continue to implement health protocols by means of 3M (washing, hands, maintaining distance and wearing masks).

Abstract

Adolescent girls are one group of people who are vulnerable to anemia due to a lack of iron in their daily food consumption.   Based on initial surveys, it was found that many young women suffer from anemia, one of which is due to a lack of consumption of vegetables and fruit. Teenagers prefer to eat foods that contain a lot of fat and sugar, they like instant food. The aim of the service was to determine the knowledge of young women about the importance of consuming Fe tablets and how and when to consume Fe tablets as an effort to prevent anemia at Adyaksa1 High School which was carried out in May 2024 for a total of 148 people. The activity begins with identifying partner problems, educational activities for young women about how and when to consume Fe tablets. Material is provided through lectures, giving leaflets and questions and answers with participants. Evaluation of the knowledge of young women before education is assessed by conducting a pretest, then they are given education once for 45-60 minutes. After the education ends, another evaluation is carried out in the form of a posttest with the same questions as the pretest.  The results of the pretest and posttest with an average difference of 2-3 points, it can be concluded that there is an increase in knowledge of female students/adolescents in consuming fe tablets.  Another expected output is the publication of the results of activities in the SINTA 5 accredited Health Services Journal (JAK).

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are known as chronic diseases but are not transmitted from person to person. The World Health Organization (WHO) predicts that in 2020 non-communicable diseases will be the cause of 73% of deaths in the world (Isa, 2017). Non-communicable diseases consist of asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cancer, diabetes mellitus (DM), hyperthyroidism, hypertension, coronary heart disease (CHD), heart failure, stroke, chronic kidney failure, kidney stone disease and joint disease or rheumatism. Around 80% of all NCD deaths occur in low-income countries (Riau Provincial Health Office, 2019). Some factors that trigger non-communicable diseases are behavioral factors such as smoking, alcohol consumption, lack of physical activity, fast food, lack of fruit and vegetable consumption, this is certainly a trigger for a person's physiological health. Abstract

Adolescence is a transitional phase that is vulnerable to various social problems, one of which is bullying. Bullying has a serious impact on adolescents’ psychological development, including trauma, decreased academic achievement, and the risk of long-term psychosocial disorders. This study aimed to determine the relationship between parenting style and trauma with bullying incidents among students of Nurul Khoir Junior High School in Jambi City. This research used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The population was all students of Nurul Khoir Junior High School with a total sample of 60 respondents obtained through total sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire consisting of respondents’ identities, parenting style, trauma experience, and bullying incidents. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test with a 95% confidence level. The results showed that more than half of the respondents had experienced bullying (60.0%), most reported authoritarian parenting (41.7%), and more than half experienced trauma (56.7%). Bivariate analysis indicated a significant relationship between parenting style and bullying incidents (p = 0.032) as well as trauma and bullying incidents (p = 0.018). The study concludes that authoritarian parenting and trauma experiences increase the risk of bullying among adolescents. It is recommended that schools strengthen anti-bullying policies, provide counseling services, and involve teachers and parents in prevention programs. Parents are encouraged to apply an authoritative parenting style characterized by open communication, emotional support, and balanced supervision to minimize the risk of bullying
