Abstract

Before 2006, biofuel mandate consumption was expected to contribute to increase economic growth and job creation, decrease poverty, mitigate climate change, and improve energy security. The objective of the study is an analysis of implementation of biofuel mandate in Indonesian economy. This research applied the long run of Recursive Dynamic General Equilibrium (RDGE) model by Indonesian Forecasting. Three simulations are used to increase of biofuel demand, seconds to increase of biofuel agriculture land expansion, deforestation, and rise fixed capital, and to last change agricultural and biofuel productivity. The policy of biofuel mandate implementation is effectively to increase economic growth, rise household income, and improve carbon emission, but less effective to built food security and feed, decline employment by industri for non biofuel agriculture, and descend forest and other forest outputs in Indonesia. The policy implication is to increase output for non biofuel agriculture by rising productivity and policy of import and inflation targetting to take sides for welfare farmer’s and food employee’s.  Keywords: Biofuel, RDGE, food security, carbon emission

Abstract

Most of the coffee production areas in Lampung are in the vicinity of production forests andprotected forests, also a catchment area for watersheds in Lampung, namely Sekampung andWay Seputih watersheds. Continuity of sustainable coffee production lines is an importantdemand that needs to be done. The application of coffee production systems with shade(agroforestry) in the catchment area is very important in ensuring environmentalsustainability. This study aims to analyze the income performance of agroforestry coffeebased on the land status in Hulu Das Sekampung. The research uses survey methods. Fielddata exploration conducted in April-November 2016 is located in Datar Lebuay and SinarJawa Villages. Air Naningan, Tanggamus, Lampung. The descriptive statistical analysismethod is used to explain the performance of agroforestry coffee production at the researchlocation. Based on the results and discussion it was concluded that farmers with landownership status had the highest level of coffee farming income compared to the land statusof HKm and non-HKm. Agroforestry coffee farmers obtain sources of income from coffeeproduction, MPTS production, and other crop production (multiple cropping). The averagecontribution of coffee farming income is 22% of the total farm income. Coffee contributes22% to the total income of farmer households. Farmer's household income with the status ofland ownership is the highest compared to the land status of HKm and Non-HKm. Thediversity of income sources of upstream farmers in the watershed. The villages that comefrom various vegetation plants are important in maintaining land cover as a catchment area. The practice of agroforestry coffee is an adaptation of sustainable production in the upperwatershed Sekampung. The pattern of agroforestry coffee production in the area aroundprotected and watershed forests needs to be continuously developed.

Abstract

Introduction: This study aims to analyze how the existence of branchless banking in rural areas affects the economic behavior of the micro and small business households, and vice versa. Background Problem:  Within the framework at inclusive finance program, Indonesia has implemented the branchless banking model. However, the impact of the branchless banking system to micro and small business household has not discussed yet. Research Method: The research was conducted in Bogor District, with many remote villages adjacent to Jakarta, a capital city of Indonesia. A total of 97 samples of micro and small business households were selected from 13 sub-districts. The estimation was conducted using 2SLS method. The model describes the existing condition that explains the uniqueness of the economic behavior of the micro and small business households in a branchless banking system. Novelty: Studies related to branchless banking generally analyzed from the perspective of banking institutions. However, this study focusses on supply side, namely it analyzDe the household economic behavior using simultaneously equation model. Findings: The results show that the presence of branchless banking agents, as measured by the value of the transactions conducted by the households, have little effect on the economic behavior of the micro and small business households. On the other hand, the economic behavior variables which are expected to affect the value of the transactions do not occur. The results explain that the utilization of the banking services provided through agents in the branchless banking system is in the form of payment transactions. In addition, the presence of branchless banking in rural areas has not affected production activities and vice versa. Conclusion: This study suggests a further study to find out the factors that make business actors unwilling to perform financial transactions related to their production activities through branchless banking agents.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the factors that influence productivity and the profitability of large red chili farming in Way Sulan District. This research used a survey method and was carried out in Way Sulan Subdistrict, South Lampung Regency in March - April 2019. The 56 respondents were selected using a simple random sampling method. The first objective was analyzed using the Cobb-Douglas production function with variables namely NPK fertilizer, SP36 fertilizer, insecticide, fungicide, herbicide, labor, and seed on the productivity of large red chilli farming. The second objective was analyzed by the analysis using the UOP or Cobb-Douglas profit function, which is a derivative of the production function but normalized by the output price. The study suggests that the productivity of large red chili farming was determined by NPK fertilizer, SP36 fertilizer, fungicide, labor which can increase the productivity. The second result suggests that the profit function of large red chili farming is influenced by land size, NPK fertilizer price, and labor wages that are normalized with output prices significantly and can increase the profit of large red chili production.Key words: production, profit, red chili

Abstract

The aims of this research are to analyze the financial feasibility and the sensitivity of laying hens farming.  The research was a case study at Takihara Farm in Natar Subdistrict of South Lampung Regency.  Data were collected in August 2020 and analyzed by using financial feasibility and sensitivity analysis methods.  The results showed that laying hens farming was financially profitable and feasible to be developed.  The NPV of laying hens farming was IDR10,131,628,683.22.  The Gross B/C value of laying hens farming was 1.15.  The Net B/C value of laying hens farming was 2.17.  The Payback Period value of laying hens farming was 13.81 years, showing that the initial cash outflow of investment could be recovered less than 30 years.  The IRR value of laying hens farming was 13.84 percent, which was greater than interest rate 6 percent.  Based on the results of the sensitivity analysis, with an assumption of an increase in the production costs of corn as a feed ingredient for laying hens by 10.73 percent and a decrease in the selling price of chicken eggs by 12.44 percent, the business of laying hens farming is still worth cultivated and developed.Key words : financial, laying hens, sensitivity
