Abstract

Abstract_ During Dutch colonialism, cities in Indonesia in general and cities in java, in particular, gained significant influence. The influence is seen in the downtown area. The influence is seen in the downtown area. The pattern of the Javanese city centre that had been formed since the Hindu-Buddhist kingdom and developed during the Islamic kingdom received European influence since the began to colonialism in Indonesia. Through the method of literature review, researchers tried to describe how European colonialism in the city centre on Java. From the results of the literature study, it was known that the central city of Java developed from what was once a very thick cosmological nuance to become increasingly functional to serve the public, especially European society. There are differences of European influence to the central city of Java following the geographical position of the city. The cities on the coast of Java will receive European influence with the acquisition approach, and cities on the island of Java will receive European influence with the acculturation approach. The difference of both approaches results in a different face of the central city, where cities on the coast of Java will tend to have a European or mixed face with Europe as domination, and cities in the island of Java will tend to continue to have an indigenous face or mix with the indigenous as domination. Keywords: Colonial Architecture; Central City; Coastal City; Inland City; Literature Review.

Abstract

Dalem Mangkubumen, is a residential house specifically for nobles in the Yogyakarta Sultanate. Dalem Mangkubumen itself was built as the home of the crown prince Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono VI. It cannot be denied that Mangkubumen has the largest land area and grandeur like Karton Yogyakarta. It was built in 1876 and still stands today. Since its founding until now, its function has changed, it was built as a residence and then changed to an educational function. This change in function has an impact on changes in building use and building additions to meet their needs. This qualitative research examines how permeable the spatial layout is when it functions as a residence and changes to an educational function. Using data that has been written down, both old maps and previous articles, as well as direct observations in the field, the latest map modifications and a list of spatial changes have been obtained. These data are used to see changes and assess permeability. The level of permeability and changes in permeability in the zones within Mangkubumen can be seen. Abstract

Purpose: The designation of the Gunungsewu UNESCO Global Geopark has implications for the development of various tourism destinations. This article seeks to reveal how the development of the Gunungsewu geopark in Gunungkidul district as a tourism destination. Methods: This study uses a qualitative method. The data used were descriptive data, with in-depth analysis. Collecting samples through proportional sampling, the selection of samples depends on the purpose of the study without regard to the ability of a generalist. Results: The level of development of tourism destinations in mountain geoparks varies based on Butler's classification of tourism destination development. Determination of an area with unique geomorphology cannot simultaneously lift the entire area into a tourist destination. Limitation: This study focuses on developing a geosite seen as a tourism destination. This study emphasizes observing the development of tourism destinations using the “Tourism Area Life Cycle” approach proposed by Butler (1980). Contribution: This research is expected to benefit the development of tourism science and geoparks in Indonesia. Conclusion: Species diversity in the Protection Report Diary (in 2010) was higher compared to the total number of wildlife species sighted by visitors (in 2021) and during the patrol (in 2020) indicating that some wildlife species in LCC declined within 10 years.

Abstract

The spirit of place in an area often changes due to natural or human factors. The Muntilan Catholic Complex was founded 1904 as a mission center for native teachers' schools. The architectural styles are village style, Hinduism, Art Deco, and Neo-Gothic. The Catholic complex's architectural form and environment are well preserved, and the functions still remain. This research aims to see the resilience of tangible and intangible heritage in Catholic complexes that form a spirit of place. The research uses qualitative methodology with field observation, literature studies, and interviews to obtain data. The data was then analyzed narratively. The aspects studied were the resilience of architectural, spatial, and visual forms. From an architectural perspective, the infill of the building was carried out due to the replacement of a building that was burnt down (1948). The spatial pattern formed from the building pattern that created the inner courtyard has stayed the same since 1914. The visual architectural style of the new building needs to consider its influence on the spirit of place of the Muntilan Catholic Complex.

Abstract

The waste problem is a problem faced by various regions in Indonesia, including Bantul Regency, ranging from the lack of public awareness, waste that is thrown carelessly on vacant land and in rivers, to landfills that have exceeded capacity. Previous research has been carried out on a community and community scale, but it is still rare to see from the perspective of the role of the world of education in handling waste problems. This is the background for the implementation of this research. This research was conducted with the aim of identifying the waste management system implemented in elementary schools in Bantul Regency and finding factors that influence waste management in elementary schools in Bantul Regency. The method used in this study is a qualitative deductive method. Methods of collecting data were interviews, questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The study was conducted at 14 elementary schools in Bantul Regency in both rural and urban areas. This research uses descriptive qualitative data processing and analysis methods. Testing the validity of the data in this study was carried out by triangulation. From the results of the study, it was found that most elementary schools in Bantul Regency had tried to implement a waste management system in accordance with government policies but still needed improvements in several ways. Waste management in elementary schools in Bantul Regency is influenced by factors such as school environmental conditions, availability of infrastructure, human resources, and funding/financing.

Abstract

Community-based tourism is closely related to the active involvement of local communities in the development of tourism in their environment. Community participation in maintaining and developing batik tourism activities is the main attraction in the Wukirsari village. The development of Wukirsari village into a leading tourist destination in Bantul Regency can be an example for other tourist villages. This is interesting to study by describing and identifying the extent to which community participation affects the community to participate in batik tourism activities. The research method used in this study is a descriptive research method with a qualitative approach that is carried out by in-depth interviews with the parties concerned and direct observation in the field to obtain a direct picture based on empirical conditions. The field results are then analyzed by reducing data and triangulation so that the data obtained is valid so that it can draw a conclusion. The results of the discussion on community participation in tourism activities are, in general, local communities involved in the planning, implementation, evaluation, and distribution of benefits. But it is still necessary to maximize the participation of people who have not been directly involved in tourism activities. The most dominant form of local community participation is in the form of energy.
