Abstract

This study aimed to determine (1) the readiness of teacher in applying ICT of science learning, (2) the level according to the application of ICT in the implementation of science learning, (3) the level of completeness of learners after applying ICT in science learning. This evaluation research use the Countenance Stake model that are Antencedent (input), Transaction (process), and Outcomes (output). Respondents involved in this study were Science teachers and students in Junior High School in Yogyakarta that consists of SMPN 5, SMPN 8, SMPN 15, and SMP Pangudi Luhur 1 Yogyakarta.Data collection techniques using purposive sampling using the instrument observation sheets, questionnaires teachers, questionnaires learners interview guidelines and checklist documents RPP. Data were analyzed using a quantitative approach to the t-score, anda qualitative approach descriptively. The results of this study are (1) the preparation of teachers in applying ICT is still not optimal. (2) the suitability of the use of ICT in the learning process quite well, it was shown that on average the suitability of the use of ICT 48,24% at a preliminary stage, 53,21% on core activities. 47,20% at the closing, and 36,74% in the assessment of the range of 56-68%, (3) learning Outcomes are still unsatisfactory ie 62,72% of the normal standard of 70%.

Abstract

The virtual laboratory for electrochemistry materials has been developed. The characteristic of this virtual chemistry laboratory associated with the effect on students? achievement was analyzed. Thus this type of research was research and development by using ADDIE development model. In the implementation, the phase of the product was the quasi experimental method with a post-test only design. Classes used for this study were 3 classes, first-class using traditional laboratory, a second class using only virtual laboratory, and the third class using traditional laboratory and virtual laboratory as a supplement. All three classes were performed by the same teacher and the learning time. The instrument used to see the effect of the virtual laboratory was a test instrument. While the instrument used to assess the quality of the media was a questionnaire assessment. The results of this study were a developed virtual laboratory that can be operated via the web on smartphones and computers. In addition, the results of the assessment by the chemistry teachers stated that the virtual laboratory was in good quality and in classroom studies, the third and first classes showed significant differences. In the future research virtual laboratory as a supplement in other subject, matters can be developed.

Abstract

DEVELOPING MULTIMEDIA BASED ON PROBLEM TO INCREASE STUDENT’S LEARNING MOTIVATION AND CRITICAL THINKING SKILL Abstract The aims of this research are (1) developing the multimedia based on problem in redox’s chapter, (2) analysing the quality of multimedia based on problem, and (3) testing the effectiveness of multimedia based on problem in increasing student’s learning motivation and critical thinking skill. This research used Borg Gall research and development’s model. The subject of the research is the grade X students of SMA Negeri 6 Yogyakarta. The data were collected by using media validation’s questionnaire, learning process observation sheet, learning motivation’s questionnaire and obser-vation sheet, and critical thinking skill’s test. The results of the research show that (1) the development of multimedia based on problem in redox’s chapter is done based on the development procedure, (2) generally, the quality of multimedia which has been developed can be categorized as very good; and (3) the multimedia based on problem is effective to increase student’s learning motivation and critical thinking skill in redox’s chapter. Keywords: multimedia based on problem, learning motivation, critical thinking skill

Abstract

Complexes of [Fe(paptH)2][X]2.nH2O, (paptH = 2-(pyridin-2-ylamino)-4-(pyridin-2-yl)- thiazole, X = CF3SO3 and n = 1.5, and X2 = [Fe(CN)5NO] and n = 3) have been characterized in magnetic, Mössbauer, and electronic spectral properties. The studies reveal that the two complexes are predominantly quintet state at room temperature, but singlet at low temperature (below 91K). The change is assigned as a thermally spin state transition, singlet 1A1g (LS, low-spin) ↔ quintet 5T2g (HS, high-spin), in iron(II), being gradual, continuous, and incomplete at the experimental temperature range, and without hysteresis in these instances. The two complexes were yellowish brown at room temperature (~ 298K) but darkening to reddish brown at the lower temperatures.
