Abstract

The virtual laboratory for electrochemistry materials has been developed. The characteristic of this virtual chemistry laboratory associated with the effect on students? achievement was analyzed. Thus this type of research was research and development by using ADDIE development model. In the implementation, the phase of the product was the quasi experimental method with a post-test only design. Classes used for this study were 3 classes, first-class using traditional laboratory, a second class using only virtual laboratory, and the third class using traditional laboratory and virtual laboratory as a supplement. All three classes were performed by the same teacher and the learning time. The instrument used to see the effect of the virtual laboratory was a test instrument. While the instrument used to assess the quality of the media was a questionnaire assessment. The results of this study were a developed virtual laboratory that can be operated via the web on smartphones and computers. In addition, the results of the assessment by the chemistry teachers stated that the virtual laboratory was in good quality and in classroom studies, the third and first classes showed significant differences. In the future research virtual laboratory as a supplement in other subject, matters can be developed.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi kesetimbangan kimia di SMA N 3 Kota Bengkulu. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang terdiri tiga siklus. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas XI MIPA 5. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen observasi, dan tes kognitif. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan dari siklus I, siklus II, dan siklus III terjadinya kenaikan persentase aktivitas peserta didik dan ketuntasan peserta didik. Secara berturut-turut persentase aktivitas peserta didik adalah 32,37%, 55,25%, dan 84,76%. Sedangkan persentase ketuntasan hasil belajar peserta didik secara berturut-turut adalah 17%, 31,4% dan 82,8%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran problem based learning berhasil meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar peserta didik. Hal ini terlihat dari persentase aktivitas dan ketuntasan hasil belajar sudah meningkat dan lebih dari 75%.

Abstract

Self-efficacy is one of the factors that affect learning achievement. This study has the aim of analyzing the self-efficacy profile of students in learning using Chemdroid (Chemistry on Android) media. This media is an android-based media for Thermochemical material. This research is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The classes used in this study were 2 classes with 60 students. Both are randomly selected. The first class is the control class (C-Class) which carries out hybrid learning, as usual, namely face-to-face in class and online learning using WhatsApp groups. The second class is the experimental class (E-Class) with face-to-face in class and using Chemdroid media. The learning time and the teacher in this study were the same. The instrument used is a self-efficacy measuring instrument consisting of 3 main aspects with 22 statements adapted from previous research. The results of the study were then analyzed and categorized into 5 categories. The results obtained indicate that the self-efficacy of E-Class students is better than the self-efficacy of C-Class students

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has an impact on various areas of life. One of them is the field of education. Education cannot be separated from learning activities carried out in schools and universities. In overcoming this, online learning is an alternative for continuing to carry out learning during the pandemic. This study aims to determine students' perceptions about online learning that has been done. This type of research is a descriptive study with quantitative data analysis techniques. The method of data collection is the survey method for active students of the chemistry education study program at the University of Bengkulu from 4 years of class. The students involved in this research were 96 from various years. Aspects measured are aspects of readiness, aspects of learning effectiveness and aspects of impact. The instrument used was a questionnaire with 20 closed questions and 4 open questions. The scale used in closed questions is the Likert scale. The results of the research on the readiness aspect were very good, while the learning effectiveness aspect was good. For the impact aspect, students get more positive impacts than negative impacts. The most positive impact is to have more control over technology.Pandemi COVID-19 berimbas kepada berbagai bidang kehidupan. Salah satunya adalah bidang pendidikan. Pendidikan tak lepas dari kegiatan pembelajaran yang dilakukan di sekolah. Dalam mengatasinya, Pembelajaran online menjadi alternatif untuk tetap melaksanakan pembelajaran selama pandemi berlangsung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi mahasiswa mengenai pembelajaran online yang telah dilakukan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan teknik analisis data kuantitatif. Metode pengambilan data adalah dengan metode survei kepada mahasiswa aktif program studi pendidikan kimia Universitas Bengkulu dari 4 angkatan. Mahasiswa yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini adalah sejumlah 96 dari berbagai angkatan. Aspek yang diukur adalah aspek kesiapan, aspek efektivitas pembelajaran dan aspek dampak. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket dengan 20 pertanyaan tertutup dan 4 pertanyaan terbuka. Skala yang digunakan pada pertanyaan tertutup adalah skala likert. Hasil penelitian pada aspek kesiapan adalah sangat baik, sedangkan pada aspek efektivitas pembelajaran adalah baik. Untuk aspek dampak, mahasiswa lebih banyak mendapatkan dampak positif daripada dampak negatif. Dampak positif yang paling banyak dirasakan adalah lebih menguasai teknologi.

Abstract

Abstract: The Effect of Using PjBL in Conceptual Understanding and Science Process Skills Students’. Objectives: This study is a quasi-experimental study that aims to understand whether there are differences in the ability to understand the concept and science process skills among learners using a PjBL model with learners using the 5M learning model on Acid-Base material of high school Class XI.  Methods: The research sample was taken by cluster random sampling technique and obtained class XI MIA 1 as the Experimental Class and class XI MIA 3 as the Control Class. Data were collected by the test method to measure the conceptual understanding and non-test methods to measure the science process skills. The analysis of hypothesis testing was carried out by using the manova test. Findings: The results showed that the Hotelling's Trace value on the manova test had a significance of 0.793. Conclusion: there is no difference in the ability to understand concepts and science process skills between students who use PjBL models and students who use 5M learning models.

Abstract

Abstract: Implementation of Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) Learning Model to Improve Student’s Activeness and Learning Outcomes on Reaction Rate Materials. Objectives: The aims of this study to improve student’s activeness in learning process and student’s learning outcomes by applying the Team Assisted Individualized (TAI) type of Cooperative learning model. Methods: This research is classroom action research (CAR). It use 2 learning cycles consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were students of class XI Science 1, MAN 1 Bengkulu City which consisted of 12 male students and 23 female students. The problem in this class is the lack of student participation in the learning process. This causes a decrease in learning outcomes in each material. Findings: Increased student's activeness from 43.80% in the first cycle to 77.14% in the second cycle. While the percentage of mastery learning outcomes increased from 22.85% in the first cycle to 80.0% in the second cycle. Conclusion: These results state that the TAI type of cooperative learning model can increase the percentage of learning activeness and mastery of learning outcomes.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to develop a student self-efficacy scale in learning, especially in chemistry learning. This scale has been developed with 4 main steps, namely the determination of aspects, preparation of indicators, preparation of statement items and validation. The measured aspects are activity choice, effort, perseverance, learning, achievement, and strategy orientation. The items developed were 30 statements. The validation process consists of expert validation and empirical validation. At the expert validation produced 24 valid statement points viewed from the  Aiken V. The empirical validation phase involved 300 high school students. Analysis of the results at this stage using the Rasch model. At this stage, there were 22 valid and reliable statements for use in measuring students' level of self-efficacy. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan alat ukur efikasi diri siswa dalam pembelajaran, khususnya dalam pembelajaran kimia. Alat ukur ini telah dikembangkan dengan 4 langkah utama, yaitu penentuan aspek, penyusunan indikator, penyusunan butir pernyataan dan validasi. Aspek yang diukur adalah pilihan aktivitas, usaha, ketekunan, belajar, pencapaian/prestasi, dan orientasi strategi. Butir yang dikembangkan sebanyak 30 pernyataan. Proses validasi terdiri atas validasi ahli dan validasi empiris. Pada tahap validasi ahli menghasilkan 24 butir pernyataan valid dilihat dari besar Aiken V. Tahap validasi empiris melibatkan 300 siswa SMA. Analisis hasil pada tahap menggunakan model Rasch. Pada tahap ini menghasilkan sebanyak 22 butir pernyataan valid dan reliabel untuk digunakan dalam pengukuran tingkat efikasi diri siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a cognitive instrument based on critical thinking skills on acid-base material based on needs analysis in schools. This type of research is research and development with the ADDIE model, where researchers only carry out until the implementation stage. The sample of this research is class XI IPA 1 opening 29 people. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data analysis using item validation test and reliability test using Lawshe theory and Rasch model as well as testing students' critical thinking skills. The results of developing the Critical Thinking instrument show that it is valid and has a very high reliable value. Valid questions from validation are 18 questions from 24 questions developed, valid questions from empirical validation 8 questions from the expert validation stage. The results of the trial for critical thinking obtained 3.4% very critical, namely 1 critical person, 51.7% critical, namely 15 students, 37.9% critical, namely 11 students and 7% less critical, namely 2. Average value of thinking skills The overall critical score of students is 62.2% which is in the critical category. For results based on Ennis' critical thinking indicators, 76.6% of questions focus indicators are included in the critical category, 59.3% of indicators determine a source including the critical enough category, critical indicators analyze arguments 66.2% are included in the critical category, indicators define terms and considering a definition 52.4% is included in the quite critical category, the ID indicator assumptions 69.7% is included in the critical category, the indicator observes and considers the observation results 52.4% is included in the quite critical category, the indicator answers challenges 61.4% includes critical category, and indicators make and determine the results of the consideration 59.3% including quite critical category.

Abstract

Penerapan sistem pembelajaran student center learning (SCL) merupakan salah satu upaya untuk menciptakan pembelajaran yang bermakna (meaningfull learning).Akan tetapi penerapan SCL ini terkadang juga menimbulkan permasalahan seperti terjadinya miskonsepsi.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi miskonsepsi yang dialami mahasiswa dalam mata kuliah kimia sekolah II pada materi asam basa.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif.Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling.Sampel penelitian adalah mahasiswa yang mengambil mata kuliah kimia sekolah II kelas B dengan jumlah 26 mahasiswa.Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes tertulis yang disertai dengan certainty of response index (CRI). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 46,15% mahasiswa yang paham konsep, 34,61% mahasiswa yang tidak paham konsep dan 19,23% mahasiswa yang mengalami miskonsepsi pada konsep-konsep asam basa yang diujikan. Dari hasil penelitian juga diketahui bahwa miskonsepsi paling banyak terjadi pada konsep hidrolisis garam.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa miskonsepsi yang dialami mahasiswa dalam mata kuliah kimia sekolah II pada materiasam basa termasuk kategori rendah.
