Analysis and Evaluation of Productivity Using the Marvin E. Mundel Method and the Productivity Evaluation Tree (PET) at PT. YZ Endang Palupi Sumarto; Elfitria Wiratmani; Fatoni Fatoni

Abstract

PT. YZ is currently still not optimal in utilizing the resources it has (input) so that the results (output) produced are not in accordance with the target which results in a decrease in company productivity and so productivity measurements must be carried out in the company. Besides that, at PT. YZ has never conducted a thorough productivity measurement during the production process. Therefore, in this study, productivity measurements were carried out with the aim of knowing the results of measuring productivity levels at PT. YZ, to find out the factors causing a decrease in productivity levels and evaluate productivity against measurement results that have low productivity. The proper method for analyzing these problems is to use the Marvin E Mundel method to measure productivity and the Productivity Evaluation Tree (PET) method is used to evaluate productivity issues. In carrying out processing using this method, it is assisted by the Embarcadero-Dev C ++ Software. Based on the results of research using the Marvin E. Mundel method, it was found that company productivity had decreased, namely that in 2021 total productivity was 1.14 and in 2022 total productivity was 1.13. The cause of the decline in company productivity is that the labor factor is not clearly regulated for sanctions and rewards for the company; the raw material factor is the long distance of delivery from the raw material supplier to the production site; and the energy factor has not yet carried out accurate calculations regarding the use of electricity for the process. Production and machine factors have not yet established a machine maintenance schedule. The evaluation results using the Productivity Evaluation Tree (PET) method show that total productivity has increased; in 2022, total productivity was 1.13, and in 2023, total productivity was 1.15. To increase productivity, this was done by reducing input, namely the number of workers. By reducing the number of workers, productivity increases.

Abstract

The development of manufacturing industry is currently experiencing very rapid development, although the Covid-19 pandemic is still ongoing, this development cannot be inhibited. PT. Madya Putera Tehnik is an industry-engaged automotive part manufacturer that produces bushings. The problem experienced is that the high demand for bushing rubber products makes companies have to optimize the performance of employees and their machines so that targets can be met on time. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the production line in the process of making rubber bushings as well as to provide suggestions regarding the balance of the track to increase productivity by using the Theory of Constraints and Heuristic methods. The Theory of Constraints method aims to identify bottlenecks at the outer pipe cutting, rubber roll, rubber clean, and packing work stations that are experiencing problems, and the Heuristic method aims to calculate the balance of the production line. The results obtained from data processing, namely the ranked positional weight and largest candidate rules method have the same results with the number of work stations as many as 14 work stations, track the efficiency of 70%, balance delay of 30%, smoothing index of 66.57, and total exits as many as 1145 units of rubber bushings. It can be interpreted that the two methods have proposed the most optimal trajectory conditions. The company should review the balance of the track and the current production capacity of the company.

Abstract

Agriculture is largely carried out by the Indonesian people, taking into account favourable agricultural conditions and a culture of food security that has relied on agriculture since ancestral times. The national herbal medicine company produces a considerable amount of herbal medicine waste from its production process. Currently, this waste is not being utilised to its full potential and poses environmental problems if not handled seriously, as the company's waste storage space is limited. PT Miracle Farm is a company focused on modern agriculture, utilising available land in Depok City. Its business activities include educational tourism, agriculture, and fisheries, comprising open fields and greenhouses. Farming stages include seedling production, planting, and cultivation processes using fertilisers, with fertiliser procurement requiring significant costs. The solution involves seeking affordable fertiliser options that deliver good quality and results. Training activities on compost production using herbal medicine waste begin with washing the waste, then adding EM4 microbacteria and sugar for compost decomposition, resulting in soil fertility, reduced production costs, and improved environmentally friendly waste management. Sustainable agriculture combines the concepts of the circular economy and waste management. The training aims to boost agricultural productivity at PT Miracle Farm, reduce dependence on chemical fertilisers, and enhance environmental sustainability. The compost production process was successful overall. Pre- and post-tests were conducted to measure the outcomes of the activity, showing significant improvements. This indicates that participants understood the material and gained substantial benefits from the community service, making the training experience valuable.Pertanian sebagian besar dilakukan oleh masyarakat Indonesia dengan mempertimbangkan kondisi pertanian yang mendukung, budaya ketahanan pangan yang mengandalkan pertanian sejak nenek moyang. Perusahaan jamu nasional, sisa produksinya menghasilkan limbah ampas jamu yang cukup berlimpah. Saat ini belum termanfaatkan secara maksimal, dan mengalami permasalahan lingkungan jika tidak ditangani serius, ruang penyimpanan limbah di perusahaan terbatas. PT Miracle Farm adalah sebuah perusahaan yang berfokus pada pertanian modern dengan memanfaatkan lahan yang tersedia di Kota Depok. Kegiatan usahanya melalui wisata edukasi, sektor lain seperti pertanian dan perikanan, terdiri dari lahan terbuka dan rumah kaca Tahapan bertani, pembibitan, menanam, proses penanaman menggunakan pupuk, penyediaan pupuk membutuhkan biaya tidak sedikit. Solusinya mencarikan ide pupuk murah, kualitas dan hasilnya bagus. Kegiatan pelatihan pembuatan pupuk kompos berbahan ampas jamu, pertama pencucian ampas jamu, lalu penambahan mikrobacter EM 4 dan gula untuk pembusukan pupuk kompos, hasilnya untuk kesuburan tanah, menurunkan biaya produksi, dan meningkatkan pengelolaan sampah ramah lingkungan, pertanian berkelanjutan menggabungkan konsep ekonomi sirkular dan pengelolaan sampah. Pelatihan untuk produktivitas pertanian PT Miracle Farm, dan membantu mengurangi ketergantungan pupuk kimia dan meningkatkan kelestarian lingkungan berkelanjutan. Kegiatan pembuatan pupuk kompos secara keseluruhan berhasil. Pretes dan posttest dilakukan untuk pengukuran hasil kegiatan, perolehan peningkatan yang signifikan, indikasi ini menunjukkan peserta paham, mengerti, serta banyak memperoleh manfaat dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat, sehingga pengalaman pelatihan ini dapat bermanfaat.
