Abstract

Abstract

Background: A long-term training process is required to train athletes, which requires systematic, targeted, planned, and repetitive handling. Training methods improve the mastery of fundamental techniques for beginner athletes. Training volleyball methods are essential for beginners as they make the exercise more focused and gradual to improve their under-passing. Coach training methods make it easier to give practical and concentrated exercises to the areas you want to enhance. Objective: The study aims to determine whether drill exercise and game approach can significantly improve female athletes' use of under-passing volleyball. Methods: With the type of research being Quasi-Experimental. The research design used was Randomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design. A total of 24 athletes were given treatment for two months. The instrument used was the Braddy Volleyball Test, and data analysis used the T-Test. Results: Results for the drill exercise experimental group were 0.695 > 0.05, and for the experimental group, the playing method was 0.695 > 0.05. This means that drill exercises and game approaches significantly improve the skills of passing volleyball. Conclusion: In experimental groups, I and II, athletes who were given a drill exercise program and game approach both improved their skills in the basic techniques of skills under-passing volleyball. The average posttest results of both groups of experiments are higher than the average pretest results. It shows a difference between the drill exercise program and the game approach.

Abstract

WHO recommendations (2020) advise adults to do moderate intensity physical activity for 150-300 minutes (40-60% of Maximum Heart Rate) or high intensity physical activity for 75-150 minutes (60-85% of Maximum Heart Rate ) ) per week to maintain and improve fitness. However, often obstacles such as "lack of time", low motivation, and non-compliance with existing guidelines are reasons for not exercising. High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) offers a solution that requires less time but still provides health benefits that are equal or even greater than the physical activity recommendations from WHO. This study aims to determine the effect of HIIT on physical fitness, VO2Max, and social status. The method used is library observation by searching for articles from electronic databases such as PubMed, ScienceDirect, and ProQuest. The research results show that HIIT can improve physical fitness, have a positive effect on social status significantly and efficiently.

Abstract

Declining physical activity and lifestyle changes among physical education students may reduce physical fitness, while professional demands require them to design data-informed exercise programmes. This study aimed to analyses the effects of physical activity numeracy ability, BMI literacy, and health statistical reasoning on physical fitness among physical education students. Quantitative correlational survey design was employed. The sample comprised 133 physical education students selected purposively. Data were collected using four-point Likert-scale questionnaires, each consisting of 16 items for physical activity numeracy, BMI literacy, health statistical reasoning, and physical fitness. Item validity was examined using Pearson correlation analysis, showing that all items were valid with item–total coefficients above the critical r value, whereas Cronbach’s alpha coefficients ranged from 0.945 to 0.967. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlations, and multiple linear regression, preceded by classical assumption tests. The regression model was significant (R² = 0.573; p < 0.001). Partially, physical activity numeracy (β = 0.504; p < 0.001) and health statistical reasoning (β = 0.284; p = 0.031) had positive and significant effects on physical fitness, whereas BMI literacy showed no significant effect (β = −0.006; p = 0.956). These findings highlight the importance of reinforcing exercise numeracy and health statistical reasoning in physical education curricula to support the design, monitoring, and evaluation of evidence-based exercise programmes, thereby enhancing students’ physical fitness and their readiness as future PE teachers. Longitudinal and structural modelling studies are recommended to minimise multicollinearity and test mediation mechanisms among variables in Indonesian higher education settings.
