Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify the diversity of fish species based on the waters in Kuala Langsa Village and provide outputs in the form of water conditions in Kuala Langsa Village. Fish sampling was carried out using the Purposive Sampling method. The composition of fish species caught at the three stations consisted of 12 species, namely: Mystus nemerus, Channa striata, Chanos chanos, Drepane punctate, Stolephorus sp, Gerres erythourus, Leiognathus splendens, Lutjanus johnii, Planiliza subviridis, Johnius belangerii, Epinephelus sp., Terapon jarbua. The total number of fish caught at station I was 36 fish, station II was 22 fish, and station III was 28 fish. Total relative abundance at stations I, II, and III in Kuala Langsa Kota waters obtained the highest abundance of fish from the species Leiognathus splendens with a value of 31.40% while the lowest relative abundance was found in the species Epinephelus sp and Chanos with a value of 1.16%. The diversity index at stations I, II, III ranged from 1.73 to 2.19. The three stations had moderate diversity criteria, indicating that the biological condition and fish diversity were still stable. Uniformity values of stations I, II, III, range from 1.53-1.59 which indicates high uniformity. This is due to the high uniformity because the fish population is spread evenly at each station. Dominance values at stations I, II, III range from 0.14-0.24 indicating low dominance or no fish species dominating at each station. Keywords: Diversity; Dominance; Kuala Langsa; Relative abundance; Uniformity

Abstract

Justification serves as a tool used to improve students' ability to understand mathematics and their proficiency in working on mathematical problems. However, despite its significance, student justification in the problem-solving process has not become a priority for teachers based on several studies. While justification research related to problem-solving has begun to develop, it is only limited to validating the truth of a mathematical solution. Thus, this qualitative descriptive research aims to analyze students' justification process in solving reasoning problems regarding the types of justification (interpretation, elaboration, prediction, and validation) and the function of each type. The research subjects consisted of two high school students in Indonesia with high abilities who solved algebraic mathematics reasoning problems. Meanwhile, data collection and analysis used the results of students solving algebraic reasoning problems involving the nature of justification tasks. The results show that the types of justification indicate a crucial role in students' problem-solving process. Apart from that, each of these also has the potential for use in the problem-solving process. Furthermore, this article also suggests several points that can be applied to develop student justification in reasoning algebraic problems.

Abstract

Trigeminal neuralgia is characterized by severe pain that is restricted to the trigeminal nerve and frequently causes abrupt, severe bouts in the face. About 80% of cases of classical trigeminal neuralgia are classed as idiopathic. With the use of the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) and the SF-36 questionnaire, this case study aims to determine how perineural injection therapy (PIT) affects pain relief in early trigeminal neuralgia cases and how it can affect patient function. The patient presented with a history of 8 years persistent facial pain, localized to the right side of the face. Described as sharp and intermittent, the pain rated between 6 on the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). It was exacerbated by activities such as chewing and combing, yet alleviated by rest and medication. Injections of a 5% dextrose solution in sterile water (D5W) are administered subcutaneously and intracutaneously at the trigeminal nerve point. The PIT has been performed three times. with an injection interval of 2-3 weeks. Injections are made at the trigeminal nerve point, based on the Lyftogt book. The NRS score on first injection was changed from 6 to 2, second injection was from 2 to 1, and third injection was 1 before and after injection. The quality of life is better than before. SF-36 questionnaire showed a change from 50-75% on first injection, 75-100% on second injection, and 100% on the third injection. This study showed that PIT can improve patient's pain and patient's quality of life.

Abstract

Teknologi Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) dapat mendukung kualitas layanan yang sangat diperlukan pada layanan multimedia, seperti transmisi sinyal video. Namun, saat BWA digunakan untuk mengirimkan trafik video, terjadi peningkatan delay saat bit rate video meningkat. Hal ini akan mengurangi kinerja komunikasi video, terutama trafik real time yang membutuhkan delay rendah. Oleh karenanya upaya memperkecil kenaikan delay transmisi video menjadi sangat penting. Salah satu upaya tersebut adalah dengan menentukan alokasi contention slot yang tepat sebagai bagian dari mekanisme bandwidth request. Ukuran contention slot disesuaikan dengan banyaknya subscriber station (SS) yang menempati kanal yang sama dikalikan besarnya frame duration. Untuk melihat pengaruh bit rate trafik, maka beberapa kombinasi parameter tersebut dipilih dan selanjutnya disimulasikan menggunakan simulator NS-3. Trafik video  yang disimulasikan adalah pada kanal uplink. Metode penentuan nilai contention slot yang diajukan ini berhasil menurunkan delay transmisi video hingga 20,27% untuk bit rate trafik yang berbeda bila dibandingkan dengan jaringan BWA konvensional. Namun begitu, metode yang diajukan ini tidak mempengaruhi nilai throughput dan packet loss jaringan.

Abstract

Protein sequence data analysis is a fundamental task in bioinformatics, supporting the exploration of biological variations and the identification of functional relationships among proteins. This study presents a performance analysis of four clustering algorithms, which include Balanced Iterative Reducing and Clustering using Hierarchies (BIRCH), Density-Based Spatial Clustering of Applications with Noise (DBSCAN), Agglomerative Hierarchical Clustering, and Spectral Clustering, applied to protein sequence datasets. Feature extraction was conducted using the Discere package in Python, generating 27 numerical attributes from protein sequences. The optimal number of clusters for BIRCH, Agglomerative, and Spectral Clustering was determined using the Elbow method, while DBSCAN parameters (MinPts, Eps) were tuned using the sorted k-distance plot. Clustering performance was assessed using the Silhouette Score. Among the algorithms, DBSCAN produced the highest silhouette score of 0.8105, whereas BIRCH achieved a strong balance between clustering quality, with a score of 0.7405, and computational efficiency. Agglomerative clustering provided moderate results with a score of 0.6779, while Spectral clustering yielded the lowest score of 0.6310 but demonstrated flexibility in capturing complex structures. These findings provide a benchmark comparison of clustering methods for protein sequence data, offering practical insights into algorithm selection based on data characteristics and performance trade-offs.

Abstract

Pembelajaran bahasa, terlebih bahasa Arab tidak terlepas dari problematika yang ada. Agar mampu menerjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Indonesia dengan baik dan benar siswa harus menguasai mufrodat baru serta tata kalimat dalam bahasa Arab. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan pengembangan buku ajar bahasa Arab untuk membantu siswa dalam mempermudah memahami pembelajaran bahasa Arab. Pemilihan bahan ajar yang sesuai dengan materi yang diajarkan sangat diperlukan agar pembelajaran tidak membosankan atau monoton. Pengembangan berupa produk yang sudah ada dikembangkan dengan pembaharuan atau inovasi baru. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kefektifan pengembangan buku ajar bahasa Arab berbasis Mind Mapping terhadap siswa kelas VII. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Research and Development. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, angket, dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan teknik analisis data menggunakan deskriptif. Langkah penyusunan buku ajar  terdiri dari menganalisis buku yang akan dikembangkan, mengembangkan buku teks berbasis Mind Mapping, merevisi dan melihat kelayakan buku. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengembangan bahan ajar bahasa Arab berbasis Mind Mapping dapat digunakan untuk siswa kelas VII MTS Ali-Imron Bandar Selamat.

Abstract

Despite the growing awareness of the importance of spatial reasoning in schooling years, there is a notable gap in research literature to promote spatial reasoning in early childhood education in Indonesia. This research aims to address this gap by building the capacity of Indonesian early childhood educators in designing play-based activities to support children’s spatial thinking and reasoning. Twenty early childhood education (ECE) educators coming from different area in Java, Indonesia participated in the study. The study employed design-based research methodology to examine the way in which research team and ECE educators work collaboratively to bring about innovative learning processes and changes in ECE’s practices. A key design principle of the study features play-based activities to promote children’s spatial reasoning skills in the early years were analyzed.  This study finds that the professional learning program provides support for ECE educators in three areas, such as foster an understanding of key numeracy concept including one-to one correspondence and cardinality and how it is being implemented, offer insights about spatial ability and its constructs, and exposure to spatially rich play-based activities that could be adopted for ECE centers.
