Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of the group discussion method in improving the speaking skills of class XI students of SMAN 2 Bantaeng. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which is carried out in cycles. Each cycle has four stages, namely, the stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects in the study were students of class XI IPS 1 at SMAN 2 Bantaeng, totaling 28 students. The results of research on students' ability to speak using the group discussion method in class XI students of SMA Negeri 2 Bantaeng showed an increase in learning outcomes in each cycle and qualifications achieved in cycle II by achieving the provisions of the indicator of success that must be achieved, namely 75% of students who get a Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) score of 78. The learning outcomes in cycle I are with a percentage result of 25% or with an average result of 60.46 different in cycle II those who experienced changes were more effective, namely with a percentage result of 79% or with an average result of 80.42 in cycle II students were more enthusiastic in participating in the learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe speaking skills through a process approach for class X students of SMA Negeri 16 Bone. The type of research used is classroom action research. While the approach used in this research is descriptive qualitative. This research consists of two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings. The research subjects were class X students of SMA Negeri 16 Bone, totaling 36 students consisting of 16 boys and 20 girls. The research focus of class X students on speaking skills with a process approach. Data collection techniques using observation techniques, tests and documentation. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative. The results showed that the value of the speaking skills of class X students of SMA Negeri 16 Bone with the process approach increased from cycle 1 to cycle 2. This research proved that the use of the process approach in teaching speaking could improve the speaking skills of students of class X SMA Negeri 16 Bone.

Abstract

This study aims to describe (1) It is very important to use directive speech acts during the teaching and learning process at school. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the use of directive speech acts uttered by the teacher during the lesson. (2) This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this study were teachers who teach Indonesian at UPT SMA Negeri 14 Jeneponto. While the informants in this study were teachers who taught Indonesian for class XI Mipa 1 UPT SMA Negeri 14 Jeneponto. The results of research on the forms and functions of teacher directive speech acts in Indonesian language learning class XI Mipa 1 UPT SMA Negeri 14 Jeneponto show that the use of command directive speech acts and functions of command directive speech acts is the most widely used compared to other directive speech acts. This can be seen from the results of the research which showed that the form of command speech acts and the function of command speech acts were used by Indonesian teachers, namely 10 utterances. The forms of directive speech acts found are directive speech acts of commands, requests, granting permission, advice, questions and prohibitions.
