Abstract

Palliative care is total care that is carried out actively, especially for patients suffering from chronic diseases. The aim of this research is to obtain an overview of nurses' experiences in providing palliative care in independent nursing practice. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive phenomenological method design. The population is nurses who carry out palliative care in independent nursing practice with a sample of 5 nurses selected using the snowball sampling technique. Data collection techniques are interviews, observation and documentation. This research produced 6 themes related to nurses' experiences in carrying out palliative care in independent nursing, including: (1) Sufficient knowledge, (2) impact of palliative care, (3) Nursing Intervention, (4) Barriers, (5) Problem solving, and (6) Hope. In providing palliative nursing care, nurses must have sufficient knowledge regarding palliative care in order to provide maximum nursing care. While providing palliative care, nurses carry out nursing interventions to improve the patient's quality of life. Providing maximum nursing care is the main hope for every nurse in providing palliative care.

Abstract

Discharge planning is a crucial element in nursing care, especially for patients recovering from severe medical conditions like ischemic stroke. Effective discharge planning influences patient outcomes, including recovery levels and quality of life. This literature review aims to explore studies on the implementation of the SECI model in discharge planning for ischemic stroke patients. Databases used include Google Scholar, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Semantic Scholar, ResearchGate, and BMC, with a systematic literature review method. Keywords used were "ischemic stroke" and "discharge planning." A total of 120 articles were retrieved from the literature search, which were then filtered using the PICO framework and CRAAP criteria. The SECI model-based discharge planning was found to be more effective than standard methods. To enhance discharge planning for ischemic stroke patients, hospitals and nurses need to train nurses in the SECI model and develop audiovisual-based educational modules. Good communication among healthcare team members should be maintained, and families need to be involved in the discharge process. Regular evaluations are also essential to identify improvements and gather feedback from patients and families

Abstract

Introduction: Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer that occurs in women due to the growth of abnormal cells in the breast tissue. One of the most widely used treatments is chemotherapy with the most common side effect being fatigue. Continuous fatigue can affect the patient's sleep quality, especially in advanced stages. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between fatigue and sleep quality of advanced breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Method: This study used a descriptive correlation design with a cross-sectional approach. This study amounted to 43 respondents who were taken based on the inclusion criteria using the total sampling technique. The instruments used the study were Brief Fatigue Inventoy (BFI) and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). The analysis used was Chi Square test. Results: As many as 21 respondents had fatigue in the mild category (48,8%) and 22 respondents had fatigue in the severe category (51,2%) while in the sleep quality of 43 respondents, 8 respondents had good sleep quality (18,6%) and 35 respondents had poor sleep quality (81,4%). There is no significant relationship between fatigue and sleep quality in advanced breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy with p value (0,689) > alpha (0,05). Conclusion: Fatigue has no significant relationship with sleep quality in advanced breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Can further develop the results of this study regarding other factors such as physical, psychological
