Abstract

Mother's knowledge is one factor in the success of exclusive breastfeeding. Research in Ghana (2008), 1.3 million infant deaths can be prevented by the provision of breast milk (ASI) in infants from the first day of birth until under the age of 5 years. If breastfeeding starts in the first 1 hour after birth, This figure rises to 22% from 16%,. This study aims to determine the differences in knowledge about Exclusive Breastfeeding and the factors that influence it in post partum mothers in BPM with Puskesmas in the East Jakarta area. Research Design: Observational analytic study with the approach used is cross sectional. The results showed that there were significant differences (P = 0.001) between the place of labor and the knowledge of nursing mothers. Mothers who gave birth at the Good Knowledge Midwife Practice (PMB) were 78.6%, while those in the Puskesmas were only 38.5%. Characteristics of respondents related to knowledge of post partum mothers about breastfeeding were Education (P 0.01), Economy, (P 0.000) and ethnicity (P 0.019). Factors-education, economy and ethnicity influence mother's knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding. Place of birth in the Independent Practice Midwives have the opportunity to increase knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding 3 times compared to the knowledge of mothers who give birth at the Puskesmas after controlled by the Education variable.

Abstract

More than 90% of maternal deaths are caused by complications that often occur during or around childbirth. Reducing the incidence of childbirth complications requires the active participation of the family, especially the husband. The study aims to find out the use of e-modules and SUMPING videos on the independence of husbands in childbirth assistance. Observational descriptive research with a comparative design of these two groups was carried out on 100 husbands who were divided into groups e module SUMPING and video SUMPING of each 50 person. Data were collected at Midwifery Independent Practice Sites in Tanjungpinang and Bekasi City using questionnaires and observation sheets. Data were processed and analyzed using the chi-square test and Fisher's exact test. The results showed that the variables of education, exposure to information, experience, knowledge, and motivation had a significant effect (p-value <0.05) on the independence of husbands in group e modules and videos, but had no effect on the variables of age and occupation (p-value > 0.05). The results of this study conclude that independence in childbirth assistance can be increased by increasing knowledge and motivation supported by higher education background, information exposure, and experience in childbirth assistance. The use of e-modules and SUMPING videos can be recommended for husbands to increase their independence in providing childbirth assistance.

Abstract

Causes of breastfeeding failure are influenced by several factors, including socio-cultural factors, psychological factors, the mother's physical condition, and health workers. Psychological or mental factors can affect the smooth production of breast milk because a mother's feelings can either hinder or enhance the release of oxytocin, which is necessary for milk production. Therefore, hypno-breastfeeding can help make breastfeeding mothers feel more comfortable and reduce anxiety. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of hypno-breastfeeding in overcoming anxiety in breastfeeding mothers. This is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental design involving an experimental group and a control group. The sample consisted of 66 respondents, with 33 breastfeeding mothers in each group. The instrument used to measure anxiety levels was the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted through univariate analysis to describe the characteristics of respondents and bivariate analysis using independent T-test and dependent T-test to test the effectiveness of the intervention. The results of the independent t-test showed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in reducing anxiety, with a p-value = 0.000 (p < 0.05) for the experimental group and a p-value = 0.326 (p > 0.05) for the control group. In addition, the results of the dependent T-test also indicated that hypno-breastfeeding was significantly effective in reducing anxiety levels in breastfeeding mothers (p-value = 0.000). It can thus be concluded that hypno-breastfeeding has an effect in overcoming anxiety in breastfeeding mothers at TPMB Bidan Jehanara in 2025.
