Abstract

Apart from being a place to leave children when both parents work, daycare is also seen as a place for child protection and fulfillment that is suitable for parents of industrial workers, especially the existence of daycare not far from the work location so as to minimize the time to pick up and drop children from work to and from work. The social interaction that occurs between the parents of industrial workers and the community in South Tambun regarding the daycare phenomenon lies in the daily life of industrial workers who have erratic working hours and have to leave their children in daycare which is seen as a daycare for city people who can afford it. This study uses a descriptive qualitative strategy or method with an in-depth interpretation of field findings based on existing facts. This research tradition is a phenomenological tradition that focuses attention on the conscious experience of an individual and uses an interpretive paradigm that seeks to find explanations about social or cultural events based on the perspectives and experiences of the person or organization under study. Using a symbolic interactionism analysis knife, the research describes three concepts, namely Mind, Self and Society from parents of industrial estate workers who leave their children in daycare.

Abstract

The phenomenon of shifting media platform usage from conventional media accounts to homeless media (HM) is an undeniable fact. Through qualitative research using a phenomenological and virtual ethnographic approach, as well as utility and satisfaction theory, this study found that HM accounts have been widely operating on various official social media platforms, filling the information gap that conventional media cannot reach, especially at the level of marginalized and local communities. Despite internal challenges still surrounding HM, it holds significant potential as an alternative information provider, especially for local and marginalized communities. HM is a crucial phenomenon in the social transformation of Indonesia's digital society landscape today. With its speed of distribution, content innovation, and social mobilization capabilities, HM opens new avenues for information democratization, public participation, and social change dynamics. Synergy between HM, conventional media, and the public, along with news content accuracy, ethics, and journalistic responsibility, will be key to achieving inclusive and meaningful social transformation in the future

Abstract

This study analyzes how artificial intelligence (AI) adoption transforms news production in Indonesian online media, using the Hierarchy of Influences model by Shoemaker and Reese as the theoretical framework. The research explores how AI does not merely serve as a technical tool but functions as a structural agent influencing media content at the organizational, extramedia, and ideological levels. Using a qualitative-descriptive method based on document analysis, news texts, institutional reports, and regulatory documents from the Indonesian Press Council, the study finds that AI driven automation has reshaped newsroom hierarchies by replacing entry level journalists with algorithmic systems and promoting new roles such as editorial engineers. Additionally, external pressures from platform algorithms, SEO metrics, and audience expectations have significantly shifted editorial logic toward data-driven, market-oriented practices. Ideologically, AI reinforces digital capitalism, privileging speed and virality over journalistic ethics, diversity, and public interest. The study concludes that AI not only changes production techniques but also restructures values within media institutions, highlighting the need for critical regulation, technological literacy, and ethical safeguards in AI-assisted journalism.
