Abstract

Abstract The objective of this research is to find out the use of Whatsapp Messenger as a mobile media to learn writing in EFL classes.Several researchers have attempted to prove applicability of mobile learning as modern ways of teaching and learning (Naismith, 2004:115). Moreover, applying portable technologies have been demanded by most of the modern learners who oftentimes are forced to study anywhere, and anytime, for example, at work, in the bus or at weekends (Evans, 2008:115).The research was motivated by the students’ difficulties in writing. The sample of this research was three classes of first grade students of English Department of Unswagati. The instrument of this research was questionnaire sheet. Data from questionnaire sheet was analyzed based on the frequency students’ answers and then was calculated and interpreted into percentages. The result shows WhatsApp Messenger attracts the students interest and also the students have positive responses towards the using ofWhatsAppMessenger. In applying WhatsApp group, the writer concluded that, learning using WhatsApp group has effective to develop their creativity in writing skill. On the other hand, the result from the questionnaire sheet indicated that almost of students is active in learning to writing recount text. Students can learn out of the classroom. Beside WhatsApp can be used privately, it can be used for students’ education. The students can use their gadget positively for their ability in learning English. The students can improve their knowledge in learning ICTs (Information and Communication Technologies). Abstract

This study aims to determine the social interaction that occurs in veiledMuslim women in the Ummahat Community with the surrounding environmentand to see how the communication behavior of veiled women interacts with thesurrounding environment.This research uses descriptive qualitative method with the informanttechnique using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques carriedout by observation, interviews, and documentation. Abstract

There are many mass media that can be accessed, including being accessed through television, radio, mobile phones (smartphones) and the internet, as well as the role of the closest environment in influencing children's behavior. Based on this phenomenon, children tend to like adult songs, and memorize the pronunciation of the lyrics. The study was conducted on elementary school students in SD Negeri 17 Kuningan, West Java. This study aims at 1) to find out the stimulus factors in children in the process of imitation of adult songs, and 2) to find out cognitive and affective in children in the process of imitation of adult songs. The method used for this study is a qualitative approach with a case study tradition, in this research is to find out approaches or searches that aim to explore and understand a central phenomenon. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation. While for data analysis using triangulation techniques. Based on the results of the study show that: 1) stimulus factors in children in the process of imitation of adult songs in Kuningan 17 Public Elementary School: (a) social media, the tendency to listen to adult songs via YouTube and Instagram and the duration that children need among them ? 1 hour, 1- 3 hours, and ? 3 hours. (b) mass media, children watch adult songs through television from advertisements, and concerts. (c) non-media / environment, children affected by adult songs through family, relatives, peers, the environment around the residence, and encouragement to know. (d) social media that is accessed, all children tend to often use YouTube, and other social media in accessing adult songs. 2) cognitive and affective factors in children in the process of imitation of adult songs in Kuningan 17 Public Elementary School: (a) cognitive, children tend to be exposed to adult songs from their closest environment, driven by personal curiosity, until finally memorized, but children do not understand the meaning and the meaning of the song in question. (b) affective, various reasons for their liking Korean songs, solely for purely entertainment rather than based on wishing for the praise of others. From the results of cognitive and affective processes found the types of children that are classified in imitating adult songs. Abstract

A comedian has a function to entertain the audience. He displays interesting content and can lead the audience to laugh. Humor put forward by comedians consists of aspects of verbal actions carried out by speakers which we usually call aspects of the mouth and nonverbal aspects, namely with other body movements which are stimulating, cognitive and intellectual activities as assessment and evaluation as well as those that are visible from smiles and laughter. . It is interesting to study with semiotic method. Semiotics is the science or method of analysis to study signs. Semiotics has various types, one of which is Social Semiotics. This research is about sarcasm humor in Uncle Roger's Youtube video content entitled "Uncle Roger is Sick of Nasi Goreng Eggs (BBC Food). Researchers analyzed the video by connecting representation theory and MAK Halliday's social semiotic theory who saw that the text contains three important components, namely: Discourse, Discourse Tenor and Discourse Mode Based on the analysis of social semiotics, the results of the research are: (1) There are 14 Discourse Fields discussed by Uncle Roger in the video entitled "Uncle Roger is sick with Egg Fried Rice (BBC Food)"; (2) People involved in the discourse in the Youtube video is chef Hersha Patel who is under the auspices of the BBC Food portal and involves Asian culture in cooking egg fried rice compared to white or western culture (3) The discourse in this video uses a sarcasm style. used, is a discourse that contains sarcasm or full of innuendo and ridicule directly or indirectly . Uncle Roger is also a hyperbole, figure of speech, and personification. Keywords: social semiotics, sarcasm humor, youtube videos.

Abstract

Strategi Komunikasi ‘Ayo Makan Ikan’  yang dicanangkan Departemen Kelautan dan Perikanan RI memiliki tujuan meningkatkan konsumsi ikan sebagai bahan pangan yang kaya akan gizi. Selain itu pula, peningkatan produksi ikan akan lebih besar lagi mengingat potensi Indonesia sebagai negara bahari. Dalam mencapai tujuan tersebut, perlu adanya sosialisasi melalui kampanye program ‘Ayo Makan Ikan’  sehingga masyarakat yang menjadi sasaran bisa memperoleh informasi dengan tepat. Informasi yang tepat diharapkan mendorong masyarakat sehingga melakukan apa yang diharapkan pemerintah dari program tersebut. Untuk itu, adanya strategi perencanaan komunikasi yang terpadu perlu dilakukan demi keberhasilan program. Abstract

Interpersonal communication is one of the forms of one's self-concept. How a communication that exists can have a positive or negative influence on a person. This study aims to find out how interpersonal communication can shape the self-concept of a covid-19 survivor in the city of Cirebon. In this study, researchers used interpersonal communication theory according to De Vito (1997) which is divided into 5 namely: openness, empathy, supportive attitude, positive attitude, equality. And the theory of selfconcept according to Calhoun and Acocella (1990) which is divided into 2, namely negative self-concept and positive self-concept. The research method used in this study used descriptive qualitative research with data collection techniques using observation, interviews by providing in-depth questions, and documentation. As for the results in this study, researchers found that the influence of people around such as family, friends and neighbors in verbal and nonverbal forms has a very impact on the formation of a person's self-concept. Like the support, attention, spirit, assistance provided by people nearby the impact is very large for the formation of the self-concept of a survivor of covid 19.

Abstract

Pada kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk membantu memberikan bimbingan  dalam pembelajaran  di lembaga pendidikan baik formal maupun non formal terkhusus anak-anak yang terdampak kegiatan pembelajaran nya pada masa wabah Covid-19 yang bertempat di Desa Kedongdong Kidul Kecamatan Dukupuntang Kabupaten Cirebon Provinsi Jawa Barat. Lembaga yang dijadikan tempat pembimbingan  lembaga formal yaitu SDN I Desa Kedongdong Kidul dan TKQ Al-Hanan sedangkan Lembaga Non Formal yaitu tempat mengaji Masjid Jami Al-Bashar Kedongdong Kidul. Metode yang digunakan adalah kegiatan mengajar kepada anak-anak dengan secara tatap muka namun tetap menerapkan protokol kesehatan diantaranya memakai masker, jaga jarak, dan menggunakan handsanitizer sebelum dan sesudah aktivitas.

Abstract

  The research conducted by this researcher aims to find out and explain the motives of Instagram users with zero posts on feeds among students of the University of Muhammadiyah Cirebon. Every social media user, especially Instagram users with zero posts on the feed certainly have certain motives that are the cause and purpose for someone to act. In this study, researchers used qualitative methods with phenomenological studies using phenomenological theory according to the views of Alfred Schutz. Using this theory, because in this study want to know someone's experience that is the cause and purpose so that Instagram users choose zero posts on the feed. Alfred Schutz's theory of approach classifies motives in two parts, namely: 1) The Motive of Cause (Because of Motive) which refers to past experiences that are the reason or driver and 2) the Motive of Purpose (in Order to Motive) which refers to goals and expectations to be achieved in the future. The results of this study show that based on the Motive of Cause (Because of Motive), there are four motives that are the reasons for the aesthetic standard motive, the motive for being affected by bullying, the motive for worrying about photo abuse, and the motive for being affected by sexual harassment. Based on the Motive of Purpose (in Order to Motive) there are three motives that become the goal, namely the motive of comfort in using Instagram, the motive of being free from negative opinions and unrecognized followers, and the motive of belief in 'ain disease. Regarding the meaning of being an Instagram user zero post on the feed, the results show different meanings that are recognized by some informants, namely Instagram users who are expressive in expressing their feelings, Instagram users who are closed to their personal problems, passive Instagram users, and Instagram hobbies users. Abstract

Advances in technology and the internet have not only given rise to new media but have become a human need to interact and socialize, one of which is communication technology innovation in the form of social media. With social media that can be accessed by the wider community, people in villages and cities also get the same information about education, technology, knowledge and so on. The development of the use of social media as a means of communication is increasingly rapid after the internet can be accessed via cell phones, even now people can access it anytime, anywhere using a smartphone or the term gadget has emerged which makes it easier for people to access it anywhere and anytime without any time limits. Good communication ethics in consuming social media and in accordance with Islamic teachings are not to use harsh words, pornography, or "SAR" issues and do not post false articles or statuses, which will later cause conflict, and do not post articles or statuses that are not true. or images that are copyrighted. There are many theories that explain the ethics of using social media, namely being able to use correct language, be polite, not insult people and not engage in body shaming. The aim of this research is to determine communication ethics in netizen comments on the live content of the fake diploma trial continuing with Rocky Gerung becoming an expert witness on Refly Harun's Youtube and Refly Harun's content smelling of intimidation regarding the lawsuit for postponing the 2024 Election on Youtube tvOneNews. The theory used is communication ethics with Cyber ​​Media Analysis (AMS). The method in this research is a qualitative virtual ethnographic approach. The results and conclusions of this research are the essence of communication ethics in netizen comments on YouTube, namely as a process in conveying messages from the communicator to the communicant with intent and meaning. This means that in conveying the message there needs to be ethics or rules. This is so that the communication message to be conveyed has the same meaning for both the communicator and the communicant. YouTube Refly Harun and tvOneNews, namely the existence of video content which of course has informative benefits and goodness. Abstract
