Abstract

AbstrakTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untu mengetahui efektivitas diskusi kelompok danpelatihan efikasi-diri untuk menurunkan tingkat stres menghadapi skripsi. Subyek penelitianini adalah mahasiswa fakultas psikologi Universitas Ahmad Dahlan Yogyakarta yang sedangmengerjakan skripsi. Terdapat 28 subyek penelitian yang kemudian  dibagai secara randomuntuk  masuk ke dalam kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok eksperimen. Sembilan orangmasuk dalam kelompok eksperimen dan  sembilan orang  sebagai kelompok kontrol. Eksperimenini menggunakan  desain pre-post tes.

Abstract

AbstrakThe purpose of  this research was to investigate the effectiveness of  group discussion thatgiven to minimize stress of  students writing thesis. The subjects were students of  the Faculty ofPsychology, Ahmad Dahlan University in Yogyakarta, working on their thesis. They volunteeredto participate in the research. There were 18 students who were randomly divided into twogroups. Nine were joining group discussion and the other nine were in the control group. Thisstudy performed by with pre-test and post-test control measurement toward scale of stress. Thesubject’s stress before, after the treatment, and one month after treatment were measured.The process of  the experiment was observed and recorded with video tape recorder.The data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The quantitative data were analyzedwith t-test. The data from the observational record, interview, and self  report from the subjectswere analyzed qualitatively. The result show that: there is not difference in stress between thediscussion group and the control group (t=-3,67, p>0,05).Keywords : group discussion, stress

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of classical music inreducing math anxiety. The participants in this study were 14 public highschool students from class XI at Department of Social Sciences (IPS)which has an average to above average IQ scores and high to very highlevels of anxiety. Data collection tool used Mathematics Anxiety Scaleand Evaluation Music Sheet. This study used a pretest-posttest experimentalwith control group design. Random used in this study was a matchingsystem. Data analysis in this study used Wilcoxon test. The results of dataanalysis showed significant decrease in scores between pretest and posttestin the experimental group (KE) with p = 0.014. This result indicated thatclassical music was effective in reducing math anxiety in students. Mathanxiety might decline as the students listen to classical music while learningmathematics.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelatihan harga diri terhadap penyesuaiandiri pada remaja. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa MAN 1 Yogyakarta sebanyak 22 orang yang memilkigangguan penyesuaian diri yang tinggi. Subjek dibagi dalam dua kelompok yaitu kelompok eksperimendan kelompok kontrol.Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan Mann Whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwapada saat sebelum dilakukan penelitian harga diri, kondisi kelompok eksperimen dan kelompokkontrol tidak berbeda penyesuaian dirinya. Setelah pelatihan, terhadap perbedaan penyesuaian diriantara kelompok eksperimen dengan kelompok kontrol (U=3.0; p<0.01), dengan demikian penelitianini menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh pelatihan harga diri terhadap penyesuaian diri pada remaja.Kata kunci : Pelatihan harga diri, penyesuaian diri, remaja

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to investigate the differences of the knowledge of ADHD between before and after group discussion. The subjects were parents of ADHD children. They volunteered to participate in the research. There were 8 parents. This study performed by with pre­test and post-test control measurement toward scale of knowledge of ADHD. The data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The quantitative data were analyzed with t-test. The data from the observational record and self report from the subjects were analyzed qualitatively. The result shows that: there is no difference in knowledge of ADHD between before and after group discussion (t=-0.499, p=0.633 (p>0.05)).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas pemberian metode token ekonomi terhadap motivasi belajar siswa pada anak kelas empat Sekolah Dasar. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan design pretest-posttest control group design.  Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian berupa behaviour checklist, yaitu alat observasi yang berupa daftar yang berisi nomor-nomor subjek dan perilaku-perilaku yang diharapkan muncul selama penelitian. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 39 siswa kelas empat Sekolah Dasar Negeri Jongkang, Sleman, yaitu 17 siswa termaksud kelompok ekperimen dan 22  siswa kelompok kontrol. Usia anak dalam rentang 9-10 tahun. Data yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan teknik analsis uji-t, yaitu paired sample t-test dan independent sample t-test. Hasil analisis uji-t paired sample t-test pada data pretest dan posttest kelompok eksperimen nilai t= -4,208 dengan p= 0,001 (p<0,01), artinya metode token ekonomi berpengaruh positif terhadap motivasi belajar siswa. Selanjutnya, hasil analisis uji-t independent sample t-test dengan menggunakan gain score pada data posttest kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol menunjukan nilai t= 3,073 dengan p= 0,004 (p<0,01), artinya kelompok ekperimen memiliki perubahan motivasi belajar yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa metode token ekonomi dapat mempengaruhi motivasi belajar siswa, khususnya minat dalam belajar, konsentrasi terhadap pelajaran, ketekunan dalam belajar, dan perhatian terhadap pelajaran.

Abstract

AbstractThis study examined how intensity of reading Qur’an related to maternal anxiety and the differences level of maternal anxiety among three different age groups using quantitative method.The reading Qur’an intensity scale and maternal anxiety scale were used to collect the data and it was analyzed using product moment analysis technique and ANOVA test through SPSS version16.0 for Windows. Findings showed that generating r value of -0.826, p = 0.000 (p <0.01) which means that there was a highly significant negative relationshipbetween the intensity of reading the Qur’an and maternal anxiety. Analysis of variance resulted in a total value of df=39, F=11.788, p= 0.000( p <0.01) which means that there was highly significant difference level of maternal anxiety among age groups. The age group of pregnant mother below 20 years had average score of maternal anxiety for 50,58 while the age group of pregnant mother between 25-35 years reached about 37,75 and the oldestgroup one which was consist of pregnant mother over 35 years gained 39,33. Based on the result, it could be conclude the higher intensity of reading Qur’an, the lower maternal anxiety and vice versa. Moreover, there was a difference level of maternal anxiety among the age groups. The youngest age group had the lowest maternal anxiety level compare to the two other groups.Keywords:anxiety, maternal anxiety, intensity of reading Qoran,

Abstract

A child should be able to pay attention well during task working. But, children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) experience difficulty in focusing attention or in concentrating when doing a task, both at home or at school. In the other hand, there is a behaviour modification technique that effectively proven in increasing concentration of child with ADHD.   The purpose of this study was to find out the effectiveness of token economy in improving the attention of children with ADHD when completing a task. The present study employed a single subject, a five years-old male Early Childhood Education student. The intervention was given in the form of token economy for two weeks through cooperation with parents. Observation and interviews were held to collect data regarding attention difficulty in engaging in the learning process and doing a task. The result of the study showed that there is an improvement in attention duration; the subject was able to give attention to the task in a longer duration (more than 5 minutes). The parents are expected to be more assertive and committed to applying token economy at home.

Abstract

People with mental disorders (PwMD) are individuals who experience disturbances in the process of thinking, behavior, and feelings that are manifested by meaningful behavioral changes and cause disruption of daily activities that make these individuals feel helpless. PwMD has a family caregiver who takes care of them every day. The family caregiver has its own burden when treating PwMD, such as having to accept the stigma from the community, economic burdens, as well as time divided for personal matters, and fears of a recurrence of the symptoms of mental disorders at any time. This burden causes stress on family caregiver. Stress is the interaction of individuals with the environment that eventually raises the gap of received demands and it causes physical and psychological reactions in family caregiver. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of relaxation to reduce stress in PwMD family caregiver. The scales that are used to measure stress levels in family caregivers are Depression, Anxiety, Stress Scale 42 (DASS 42). The research method is experimental research with one group pre-post-posttest research design with a purposive sampling technique involving 5 participants aged 34-62 years.
