Abstract

ABSTRACT ANALYSIS OF PRODUCTION FACTOR UTILIZATION AT LAYING HEN FARMS (CASE STUDIES AT UD. KAKASKASEN INDAH AND CV. NAWANUA FARM). Laying hen farm can support the government program due to its prominence in egg productivity. The problem that must be evaluated were how much the profit in one period of production gained and how many the scale of laying hen farm to reach the break event point. The laying hen farms used in this study were UD. Kakaskasen Indah and CV. Kawanua Farm. The objectives of this study were to evaluate utilization of production factor, profit level and break event point. Research was conducted by survey method. Data were collected based on field observation and direct discussion with the owners of laying hen farms. Results showed that both laying hen farms had the largest production costs of 69.44% for animal feeding on CV. Kawanua Farm and 76.66% for animal feeding on UD. Kakaskasen Indah. Analysis of profit level on CV. Kawanua Farm were Rp. 5,247,257,316 per production period with farm scale of 21,000 heads of animals per production period. The BEP were Rp. 209,297,896 for 10,956 heads of animals, with MOS of 94.36% and ROI of 1.78. Analysis of profit level on UD. Kakaskasen Indah were Rp. 17,523,288,446 per production period with farm scale of 60,000 heads of animals per production period. The BEP were Rp. 517,417,088 for 24,851 heads of animals, with MOS of 96.38% and ROI of 1.25. Results of analysis showed that both laying hen farms were using the capital efficiently as indicated by profitable values of MOS and ROI above the break event point.  Key Words : Production factor, BEP, MOS, ROI

Abstract

The largest allocation for cattle business illustrates the responsibility of farmers’ households in using resources for their goals. The research used a survey method. Then, the data collection technique employed interviews with respondents from cattle farmers' households by using the designated questionnaire. The sampling method was purposive, which was the population of cattle farmers’ households receiving capital assistance for cattle business and selling their cattle from capital assistance. The resource allocation for the cattle business was significantly influenced by the total of the received capital assistance, the value of calves, and the allocation of capital assistance for non-cattle businesses.

Abstract

The labor production factor was an important production factor and needs to be taken into account in the production process. This study aims to find out how much the allocation of male and female labor in the family and analyze simultaneously the factors that influence the allocation of male and female labor resources in the family in the cattle business in West Kawangkoan District, Minahasa Regency. A survey method using interview techniques on cattle rancher household respondents, an econometric approach with a simultaneous equation model and SAS 9.4 software analyzed was used in study. The research showed male and female workers in the family in the cattle business are assessed as the supply or outpouring of male and female workers for the cattle business. In conclusion, the outpouring of male and female labor in the family was significantly influenced by labor wages, allocation of capital assistance, the number of cows reared, the number of cattle sold, and household income. Farm households will respond positively by allocating male labor in the family for the cattle business if there is an increase in the level of labor wages, capital assistance, and household income.

Abstract

Smallholder pig farming in rural areas of North Sulawesi important role in food security, household economy, and socio-cultural of local communities. However, this sector faces various risks. The aims to analyze production dynamics and identify risk factors that affect the sustainability of smallholder pig farming in rural areas. The research employed a quantitative approach through a survey of 604 farmers (having 3-4 sows/farmer). Data analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that labor, the cage area, quantity of medicines, farm model, and farm location in rural areas significantly influenced pig production. The breeding model resulted in higher production than the combined pig farming model and tended to have lower production risks. Pig production in rural areas is also higher than in suburban areas. Disease risk is the main cause of losses, with production and income declines reaching 182.9% in the breeding model and 303.4% in the combined model. In conclusion, the breeding model resulted in higher production and tends to have lower production risks, particularly disease-related risks that directly affect productivity and farm continuity. These risks significantly reduce household production and income, highlighting the strong relationship between production dynamics, risk levels, and the economic stability of rural pig farmers.
