Abstract

Abstract: Christian religious education has the goal of teaching students the principles of Christian life, including moral values such as love, forgiveness, justice, and brotherhood. Christian religious education can help students understand and appreciate other religions with an inclusive attitude, tolerance, and respect for religious differences. However, there are several challenges that need to be overcome in implementing Christian religious education as an educational restoration agent to create a harmonious religious life in schools. One of the main challenges is the lack of understanding of religious moderation. In this research, the writer took the step of doing a literature study. Christian religious education plays a vital role as an educational restoration agent in creating a harmonious religious life in schools. Through teaching moral values, respect for religious diversity, character building, and interreligious dialogue, Christian religious education contributes to shaping students who live according to religious values and in harmony with fellow human beings.

Abstract

This article highlights the significance of believers as bearers of the good news, drawing upon the response of the shepherds in Luke 2:15. In contemporary Christianity, many believers appear passive or hesitant in proclaiming the gospel, often due to misconceptions such as the notion that evangelism amounts to proselytism, that it ought to be replaced by interreligious dialogue or apologetics, or that doing good alone is sufficient for salvation. This study seeks to recover the missional example of the shepherds, who actively shared the message with those who had not yet heard it. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach through biblical textual analysis, the study examines the theological significance of the shepherds’ response. The findings indicate that the shepherds not only received and witnessed the good news but also became its earliest messengers. Their response offers a model for believers today: to embrace their calling to proclaim Christ, that others too might come to faith.

Abstract

This article uses the library research method. The research conducted is an attempt to describe the "Significance of Understanding Human Damage as the Image of God in Pastoral Counseling Services for Church Members". This research aims to contribute thoughts on the problems currently being experienced by some members of the church. The problem is, there are not a few church members who still do not maintain the divinity of God's attributes within them. Thus, the tendency that occurs is that church members act arbitrarily without realizing that they are the image and likeness of God; who has a role as a representative in this world in protecting and caring for His creation. So as an alternative problem solving, one of the most effective approaches is pastoral counseling services. Through the pastoral counseling service, church members must be educated and guided so that they realize that within themselves there are attributes of God that must be maintained with holiness. One of the ways is by avoiding various things that mix and are related to sin.

Abstract

The 5.0 era is marked by rapid technological advances and social changes, affecting various aspects of life, including the field of education. Christian religious education plays an important role in shaping the character and morals of the younger generation. But in reality, the lack of emphasis on developing soft skills can be a problem, because the teacher's ability to interact empathetically, have creativity, leadership, and adaptability becomes very important in guiding students in a spiritual, moral, and emotional context. In addition, an excessive focus on hard skills, such as understanding theology and religious practice, can ignore the importance of developing soft skills in dealing with the changes faced in the 5.0 era. In this study, the authors used a literature study, therefore to achieve the objectives of this study, superior teacher quality was needed, which had a balance between software and hardware. The purpose of this study is to present software and hardware in improving the quality of Christian religious education teachers in the 5.0 era. Soft skills include interpersonal, communication, leadership, empathy, and adaptability skills, which support teachers in interacting with students, colleagues, and a changing environment. While hard skills include specific knowledge, information technology, teaching methodology, as well as expertise in the field of Christianity.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to Sunday School ministry and children’s faith education in the modern era. Children, as digital native generations, are increasingly connected to visual media, audiovisual content, and internet use, causing conventional learning methods to become less engaging and less effective in fostering active learner participation. This study aims to analyze Sunday School strategies in addressing the opportunities and challenges of digitalization, the utilization of digital media for children’s spiritual growth, and the roles of teachers, churches, and families in developing relevant and transformative spiritual learning. The research employed a qualitative approach with a library research design enriched through phenomenological analysis of digitalization practices in Sunday School ministry. Data were obtained through a review of literature on Christian educational theology, child pedagogy, digital literacy, and reflective observation of the use of Bible animation videos, social media, and online learning platforms. The findings indicate that the digitalization of Sunday School ministry through Bible animation videos, YouTube, Zoom, Google Meet, and Christian learning applications enhances children’s interest, participation, and understanding of God’s Word through learning experiences that are more interactive, communicative, and contextual. The challenges of digitalization are reflected in gadget-related distractions, digital dependency, reduced learning concentration, and unequal access to technology among certain families. The study concludes that the success of digital Sunday School requires the integration of technology, teacher competence, parental guidance, digital literacy, and continuous spiritual formation. The novelty of this study lies in the development of a digital Sunday School ministry model that integrates technological media, pedagogical strategies, family supervision, and children’s spiritual formation in a holistic manner, thereby ensuring that church ministry remains adaptive, inclusive, and centered on children’s faith development in the digital era.
