Abstract

Maintenance is an important activity in ensuring the machine operation in a company. If maintenance activities are carried out in a planned manner, production activities can run smoothly. This research was conducted in a manufacturing company engaged in the manufacture of paper packaging. Based on the data, Duplex machines have a higher frequency of breakdown compared to other machines, which is 125 times in 22 months. This study aims to implement preventive maintenance of Duplex machines. The analysis starts with determining the critical components on a Duplex machine. Furthermore, the calculation of Mean Time to Failure (MTTF), Cost of Failure (Cf), and reliability. Finally, a preventive maintenance cost calculation (Cp) was carried out to determine the time interval for replacing components at a low cost. After the implementation of preventive maintenance, there were three components that experienced a decrease in maintenance costs. Bearing components experience a cost reduction of 8.30% with a reliability of 61%, chain components have decreased costs by 15.60% with a reliability of 62% and unwinder components have decreased costs by 10.70% with a reliability of 61%.Keywords: Duplex machine, preventive maintenance, MTTF, reliability

Abstract

Permintaan tepung jeli yang tinggi  pada special event seperti Lebaran, Natal dan Tahun Baru terjadi secara periodik setiap tahunnya (seasonal) dan cenderung meningkat (positive trend). Lost sale terjadi karena jumlah permintaan telah melebihi perencanaan kapasitas yang tersedia (regular time dan over time) akibat kurang btepatnya peramalan permintaan. Sedangkan pada periode dimana tidak terjadi lonjakan permintaan (non special event) masih terdapat kapasitas yang dapat digunakan. Hasil ramalan pada periode Lebaran memerlukan faktor koreksi karena tanggal berlangsungnya selalu bergeser setiap tahunnya pada kalender Masehi. Oleh karena itu pemilihan metode peramalan yang memperhitungkan pengaruh special event, seasonal dan trend diharapkan dapat memprediksi permintaan dengan lebih akurat. Metode Decomposition dengan faktor koreksi untuk dapat digunakan untuk meramalkan permintaan untuk seasonal, trend dan special event dengan tingkat akurasi meningkat sebesar 8.1 persen dari 86,67% menjadi 94,77%

Abstract

Lecturers at the university and having an obligation to teach students and conduct research should also do community service. One of the communities that need to be assisted by the university is the community around the university. Therefore, this community service is intended to help elementary schools located within the university environment in dealing with the Covid 19 Pandemic. Online learning poses a challenge because it is not easy to transfer face-to-face learning to online learning. In this service, lecturers collaborate with teachers to design online education. In addition, the lecturer team also donated credits to help students in need. The result of this service is that elementary school students can continue to follow online learning without experiencing material lag. The lecturer team can look for collaboration opportunities with various institutions around the university in the future.

Abstract

Nowadays, innovation and improvement in the industrial and logistic sector are significantly increasing sustainability issues and awareness. The concept of green supply chain focuses on the supply chain management that aims to reduce the environmental impacts, increasing the natural and ecological efficiency. The companies that are willing to accelerate their environmental performances will enhance competitive advantage that will bring income and market share enhancement, also a more positive corporate image. From the literature study, several green supplier criteria were identified and then be selected and categorized by interviewing the experts. From those results, ten criteria been developed in the model by using MCDM methods, which are DEMATEL and ANP. There are five respondents as experts in the environmental engineering field and industrial estate management, who know best the condition in Cikarang Industrial Estate. Five top criteria that have the highest weight number are Environmental management system (EMS), PROPER assessment from KLHK Indonesia (PROPER), Pollution prevention and control (PLC), Energy management/efficiency (EM), and Green design or R&D (GD).

Abstract

This environmentally sound behavior is conveyed through giving courses on sustainability. The purpose of this study is to determine differences in environmental behavior, environmental imagine and environmental protection between students who receive courses on sustainability and students who do not. The method used is a quantitative method with data collection using a survey method through distributing questionnaires. The population used is students from the Faculty of Business as students who receive the subject of sustainability (in one subject, namely the Sustainability and Business subject) and students from the Engineering faculty (not from the Environmental Engineering study program), the computing faculty and the humanities faculty who do not get a special subject regarding sustainability. Samples were chosen deliberately with the criteria being President University students. The collected data were analyzed using the chi-square test to show significant differences regarding environmental behavior, environmental imagine and environmental protection. The results obtained indicate that there is no difference in environmental imagine and environmental protection between student that ever have sustainability subject and the student had not. In environmental behavior, several statements showed the differences and some not, such as witness burning rubbish, wasting of food, wasting of electricity and animal abuse.

Abstract

PT. DEF is a company that engage in developing children toys. At this time, PT. DEF is trying to implement industrial 4.0 concept. All of the aspects need to implement automation system, especially in the die cut area. In order to assign the job order from customer, the schedule was prepared manually and lack of parameter considerations. Consequently, planner should revise the schedule because they did miscalculation that will impact on job order distribution and unscheduled die cut part. Starting from January 2021 – September 2021 there are 420 die cut part numbers should be assigned to the die cut machine. Since the schedule is prepare manually, PT. DEF experience loss and it reached IDR 236,376,000,00. Thus, integrating the production planner schedule and daily schedule adherence (DSA) should be conducted and followed by user requirements consideration. This research uses business process improvement as the development method. New integrated system that developed using visual basic for application (VBA) can reduce the manual activities and human error issues. By reducing manual activities, according to measurement of cycle time, the new system can operate 102.46 minutes faster than previous system which is 123.58 minutes. It also can reduce 100% unscheduled part every month in the die cut area at PT. DEF. Overall, the saving cost of new integrated system when calculated based on time reduction and unscheduled part number is Rp 10,667,211.93 per month or equal to Rp 128,006,543.14 per year.

Abstract

Di zaman serba canggih ini, tidak dipungkiri bahwa internet sudah menjadi kebutuhan primer, mulai dari bekerja di kantor (email, teleconference) bahkan sampai membeli kebutuhan sehari-hari dari rumah (online shopping). Penggunaan internet yang meluas telah melahirkan sebuah sistem teknologi baru yang disebut dengan Internet of Things (IoT). Teknologi ini bahkan sudah merambah ke area perumahan warga (residential) dan biasa disebut dengan teknologi rumah pintar (smart home). Rumah pintar adalah sebuah konsep yang mana setiap benda-benda di rumah dijadikan sebagai perangkat (hardware) yang mampu untuk saling berkomunikasi melalui jaringan internet. Manfaat utama dari teknologi ini adalah membantu dalam hal penghematan energi, pengamanan, dan keselamatan penghuni rumah. Namun, ada beberapa kategori rumah pintar seperti kategori rendah (low), sedang (middle) dan tinggi (high) dengan karakteristiknya yang berbeda-beda: mulai dari penggunaan dan kebutuhan perangkat sampai pada tipe rumah dan segmentasi pasarnya di Indonesia. Tulisan ini membahas kategori-kategori tersebut (konfigurasi, kelebihan, dan kekurangan) yang dapat digunakan sebagai referensi bagi siapa pun yang sedang mempertimbangkan untuk membeli peralatan-peralatan canggih dalam melakukan upgrade bagi rumah tinggalnya sekarang.

Abstract

A flood is natural disaster that often occurs in many regions. Flood has a significant impact on the nature conditions, local communities, and regional economic losses. The flood can happen due to a damaged environmental system; therefore, it needs deeper study and extra effort to prevent it. Thus, an appropriate and right Disaster Relief Operation (DRO) is needed in responding to flood disaster. In this research, 50 articles categorized in "flood disaster relief operation" published in the range 2012 to 2022 have been reviewed. This review is conducted by using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. This study aims to explore and analyze flood DRO. The findings reveal that the flood DRO still has several weaknesses in the current system that should be improved: the lack of an integrated information system, not enough collaboration of the stakeholders, the lateness of information exchange, and unplanned relief operations through the preparation. For further research, it is recommended to implement the proposed system in the relief operations execution.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan pada salah satu produsen ban yang berlokasi di Cikarang, Jawa Barat. Produktivitas perusahaan sering mengalami gangguan yang diakibatkan oleh masalah kualitas produk ban, yang berkaitan dengan cacat blister under tread. Apabila terjadi cacat blister under tread (BL/UT) dapat menyebabkan terjadinya mesin berhenti berproduksi. Hal ini berdampak terhadap menurunnya produktivitas dan menurunnya kinerja pada ban tersebut. Selain itu, pencapaian Key Performance Indicator (KPI) terkait banyaknya waste pada proses tire building secara rata-rata masih belum mencapai target yang diinginkan, yaitu sebesar 0.205%. Salah satu kontribusi terbesar adalah cacat blister under tread dengan rata-rata sebesar 0.068%, sementara target perusahaan adalah sebesar 0.034%. Dengan menggunakan diagram tulang ikan akan dicari faktor penyebab cacat. Selanjutnya akan dilakukan perbaikan dengan metode 5W1H dan diimplementasikan. Hasil perbaikan menunjukkan bahwa cacat menurun menjadi 0.028%.
