Abstract

The purpose of this study is to get an overview of the Science Process Skills of students in learning using the Guided Inquiry-based Colloidal System module. The type of research used is library research with descriptive analysis. The data used in this study are secondary data, i.e. scientific journals which are in the form of articles. The data collection method is in the form of a documentation method with data analysis techniques, namely content analysis. Based on the results of a journal review that has been done, it is obtained that the use of the Guided Inquiry-Based Colloidal System module in learning especially in practical activities can bring up the Science Process Skills of students well. Each Science Process Skill indicator appears with different percentages in either category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the validity and practicality categories of the modules that have been produced. This type of research is classified as a Plomp model which has three stages, preliminary research, prototype formation and assessment. The instruments used were validation and practicality sheets in the form of questionnaire sheets. The products produced were tested by 5 validators consisting of 2 chemistry majors at FMIPA UNP and 3 teachers from MAN 2 Pesisir Selatan and practicality tests conducted by 2 chemistry teachers and 30 students of class XI MIPA MAN 2 Pesisir Selatan. Based on the validation results obtained kappa moment value (k) of 0.87, then the practicality of the teacher and practicality of students obtained an average value of kappa moments (k) of 0.85 and 0.91. The value obtained shows that the module produced is very valid and practical.

Abstract

Remedial program is given to the students who do not pass the minimum criteria of learning result. Based on the “KTSP” Technical guidance evaluation in 2008 and 2009, generally teacher only gave retest to the student who didn’t pass the examination, without giving any treatment to pass the learning outcome which was not pass before. It happened because there wasn’t enough time to do this program. The solution was by using learning social media Edmodo which can be accessed online, so the students can do remedial program whenever and wherever they want without preparing remedial time at school. So, the Chemistry teachers in Kabupaten Solok was trained to use edmodo for remedial program. Besides, this media was also used for online teacher forum. This training was evaluated through questioner about practicality of social media edmodo for remedial program and online teacher forum. The result was analyzed by Kappa Cohen Formula with the value of k is 0,7, it means has high practice value.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of using guided inquiry-based ion equilibrium and pH of salt solution modules on students learning outcomes. This module has been tested for validity and practicality, but the effectiveness has not been tested. This study is using the pre-experimental method with pretest and posttest questions as the research instrument. The increased score of the student has a homogeneous variance and normally distributed. Based on the paired t-test at a 0,05 significant level, obtained t-count (62.29) score is bigger than t-table (2.73) score, which showed an improvement in student learning outcomes. The N-gain was conducted based on the student learning outcomes and had a value of 0.597, categorized as moderate. Thus, this module effectively improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The 2013 curriculum in chemistry learning demands that students to actively participate, skilled in the use of technology and communication so that the learning process is more interactive. This is also in accordance with the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution era. The application of 4IR in the field of education is the use of e-modules. This e-module is based on guided inquiry and is integrated with the verses of the Al Quran according to the claim of the West Sumatra Provincial Regulation No. 2 of 2019 and competence 1 in the 2013 curriculum. The goal of the research was to produce and reveal the validity of an E-Module based on Guided Inquiry and Integrated Quran on Colloidal System  Topic for Madrasah Aliyah (MA). The type of research is educational design research that uses the Plomp model. This model has three stages, which are preliminary research, prototyping stage, and assessment. The research instrument used in the validity test is a questionnaire and to prove the validity value, the Aikens formula is used. The results of the study get the average value of e-module Aikens is 0,8643 which can be categorized as valid. With this e-module, it can support learning in the 2013 curriculum as well as a good learning resource, where students can learn independently and think critically.

Abstract

Rendang is one of the typical foods of the Minangkabaunese in West Sumatra. Many people like to consume rendang because rendang has a distinctive taste because in making rendang the type of meat, coconut milk and spices used greatly affect the aroma and taste produced. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of aroma, color, texture, and taste of beef rendang with variations in the addition of Cinnamomum verum. The hedonic test of beef rendang with variations in the addition of C. verum was carried out on 50 panelists. Panelists present 6 samples with 6 different sample numbers. Panelists were asked to rate how much preference there was for the product using a hedonic scale. The hedonic test results showed that the less C. verum added, the better the taste produced. As for the aroma and color, there is no significant difference among these products

Abstract

Coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) is a spice known to have active ingredients, one of which is anti-cholesterol. Some regions use coriander as an ingredient in making beef rendang. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of preference for color, meat texture, seasoning texture, taste and aroma of beef rendang made using six variations of the addition of coriander rhizome, namely with levels: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 grams/500 grams. beef. The organoleptic test method uses the hedonic test, namely the level of preference test with 40 panelists of UNP chemistry students 2020. The hedonic test results show that, the addition of coriander seasoning to beef rendang in general there is no significant change (p> 0.05) to the original rendang.

Abstract

The concept is an understanding of an individual or a group of people who is expressed in the form of a meaning that produces knowledge. Misconceptions of students that appear continuously will interfere with the formation of scientific conceptions and can affect student learning outcomes. Therefore it is necessary to analyze the misconceptions of students. One of the diagnostic tests that can be used is a two-tier multiple choice test or known as a two-tier multiple choice, the first level is the question being tested while the second level contains the reasons for the answer to the first level. This study aims to analyze misconceptions and determine the percentage of students' misconceptions on hydrocarbon material using descriptive methods. The subjects were 27 students of class XI IPA 2 in SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang. The research instrument was a Two Tier Multiple Choice diagnostic test by dividing students' conceptual understanding into the categories of conceptual understanding, misconception, and conceptual misunderstanding. The results showed that the percentage of students' conceptual understanding in the concept understanding category was 31%, misconception was 36%, and did not understand the concept by 34% on hydrocarbon material. Students' misconceptions on hydrocarbon material at SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang were categorized as moderate. Konsep merupakan pemahaman individu atau sekelompok orang yang diungkapkan dalam bentuk pengertian yang menghasilkan suatu pengetahuan. Miskonsepsi peserta didik yang muncul terus menerus akan mengganggu pembentukan konsepsi ilmiah dan dapat mempengaruhi hasil belajar peserta didik. Oleh sebab itu perlu dilakukan analisis miskonsepsi peserta didik. Salah satu tes diagnostik yang dapat digunakan adalah tes pilihan ganda bertingkat dua atau dikenal sebagai two-tier multiple choice, tingkat pertama merupakan pertanyaan yang diujikan sedangkan tingkat kedua berisi alasan atas jawaban pada tingkat pertama. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis miskonsepsi dan menentukan persentase miskonsepsi peserta didik pada materi hidrokarbon dengan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI IPA 2 di SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang yang berjumlah 27 orang. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes diagnostik Two Tier Multiple Choice dengan membagi pemahaman konsep peserta didik dalam kategori paham konsep, miskonsepsi, dan tidak paham konsep. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase pemahaman konsep peserta didik pada kategori paham konsep sebesar 31%, miskonsepsi sebesar 36%, dan tidak paham konsep sebesar 34% pada materi hidrokarbon. Miskonsepsi peserta didik pada materi hidrokarbon di SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang termasuk kriteria sedang.

Abstract

Indonesia has many spices that have medicinal properties, one of which is cinnamon bark, coriander and cumin which are known to have antioxidants that can lower blood glucose levels, total cholesterol and anti-obesity. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of cinnamon bark, coriander and cumin on the taste of beef rendang. The hedonic test was carried out with 15 panelists and the parameters observed were color, texture, aroma and taste. The results showed that the addition of cinnamon bark, coriander and cumin had no significant effect on texture, aroma and taste but significantly (P>0.05) on color organoleptic values.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan lanjutan dari penelitian pengembangan modul ikatan kimia berbasis inkuiri terbimbing yang telah diuji validitas dan praktikalitas, namun belum diuji efektivitas. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan efektivitas penggunaan modul ikatan kimia berbasis inkuiri terbimbing terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas X MIPA SMA Negeri 4 Padang. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian eksperimen semu menggunakan desain Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. Penelitian dilakukan di SMA Negeri 4 Padang. Subjek penelitian dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dimana kelas X MIPA 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X MIPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrument penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes hasil belajar berupa soal pilihan ganda, terdiri dari tes awal (pretest) dan tes akhir (posttest). Nilai rata-rata peningkatan hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen sebesar 41.21, lebih tinggi dari pada kelas kontrol dengan nilai 35.00. Data kedua kelas subjek terdistribusi normal dan homogen. Hasil uji t pada taraf nyata 0,05 yaitu thitung (1,79) > ttabel (1,67). Hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi secara signifikan dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Nilai N-Gain pada kelas eksperimen 5.5 dan pada kelas kontrol nilai N-Gain 4.7. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan modul ikatan kimia berbasis inkuiri terbimbing efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas X MIPA SMA Negeri 4 Padang.
