Abstract

BNI Syariah is one of Indonesia's national sharia banks. In its operations, BNI Syariah implements several contracts, namely the Mudharabah Contract, the Wadiah Contract, and the Ijarah Contract. This study is focused on the discussion of the Ijarah Contract by taking BNI Syariah Branch Palu, Central Sulawesi as the research object. Islamic banking has good prospects. This is supported by two factors, they are the population which is predominantly Muslim and the strong support of the Government. But at the same time, there are number of challenges faced by this type of banking. The aspects of funding and the quality of Human Resources (HR) are two elements that are often referred to the serious problems faced by Islamic banking, especially when compared to conventional banking. Another factor is that Islamic banking has not had a clear business model scheme yet. Moreover, Islamic banking products are still not fully understood by a larger public. In other words, citizens who truly understand the principles and products of Islamic banking are still very limited. In relation to the operations of the BNI Syariah Bank Branch Palu, there are two segments that are practiced in the bank intermediation. Those two segments are the consumptive segment and the productive segment. Both of these segments face the same problem in their implementation, it is socialization. This study found that there was a correlation between the lack of socialization and the low interest of the people in Palu regarding the Ijarah product. In other words, lack of socialization has caused BNI Syariah Branch Palu products to be widely unknown to the public.

Abstract

This research examines the practice of rice blending at Tiga Putri Enterprises, which does not fully follow the principles of transparency stipulated in sharia economic law and consumer protection law in Indonesia. Without notice to consumers, this practice can be categorized as tadlis or fraud under sharia law, which obscures product quality and creates the potential for consumer dissatisfaction or loss. This study used an interview method to explore consumer perceptions regarding product information and business responsibility in delivering quality goods. The results show that the lack of information transparency makes consumers less aware of product quality, resulting in a decline in trust. The implications of the study highlight the importance of regulation and education on transparency in the buying and selling of rice, in order to build a fairer and more responsible trading environment in accordance with sharia principles and consumer protection in Indonesia. Abstract

This study aims to explore the reconstruction of Islamic economics and education epistemology in the face of technological advances, particularly artificial intelligence (AI) and the digital economy, using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. This method was chosen to obtain a comprehensive mapping of scientific discourse developments, identify research gaps, and synthesize findings from primary literature indexed in the Scopus database for the period 2019–2024. The research is exploratory and qualitative in nature, employing documentary and narrative analysis of articles relevant to the topic of Islamic economic epistemology and its relationship with AI, the digital economy, and Islamic ethics in technology. The search strategy uses a combination of Boolean keywords such as “Islamic economics” AND ‘epistemology’ AND (“artificial intelligence” OR “digital economy”), supported by the Google Scholar and ScienceDirect databases. The findings indicate that the integration of AI and the digital economy into Islamic economic systems and education requires a profound epistemological reconstruction to ensure that fundamental values such as justice, moral responsibility, and equality are upheld. AI plays a dual role as an instrument of efficiency and a potential source of ethical disruption, while digitalization drives the reinterpretation of traditional Islamic economic values and practices. Technologies like blockchain offer transparency but also raise ethical dilemmas related to privacy and Sharia compliance. Current literature still shows limitations in terms of a comprehensive conceptual framework and a lack of interdisciplinary empirical research. Therefore, a systematic and ethical approach is needed to harmonize technological innovation with Islamic principles, as well as further research examining the impact of AI on core concepts such as zakat distribution and ethical accountability in Islamic economics to ensure their relevance and adaptability in the digital age.
