Abstract

Abstract: Parenting is the way parents behave, interact and treat their children. This paper aims to examine the family concept and typology of parenting from the perspective of the Qur'an and its comparison with Western parenting styles. This research is a literature review by tracing the verses of the Qur'an related to parenting. The results of this study indicate that the concept of family in the perspective of the Qur'an is based on parents' understanding of family goals. Meanwhile, from a Western perspective, parenting is influenced by external conditions of the family. The typology of parenting in the perspective of the Qur'an is determined from the goal of raising a family, saving the family from hellfire, and maintaining the nature of the child from birth. From these two goals, parenting styles in the Qur'an can be mapped into two, they are caring and ignorant parenting. Meanwhile, the typology of parenting in a Western perspective refers to two dimensions; responsiveness and demandingness resulting in four types of parenting; authoritative/democratic, authoritarian, permissive, and neglectful styles. The aim of Islamic parenting is not only for achieving happiness and family harmony in the world but also in the hereafter. Meanwhile, the aim of Western parenting is only to achieve happiness and family harmony in the world.

Abstract

Teori belajar merupakan kumpulan prinsip umum yang saling berhubungan dan penjelasan atas sejumlah fakta serta penemuan yang berkaitan dengan peristiwa belajar. Dalam teori belajar Barat, terdapat tiga teori yang populer yang salah satunya adalah teori behavioristik. Fokus penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana teori belajar behavioristik? Bagaimana pula teori belajar akhlak dalam perspektif Islam? Serta bagaimana perbandingan dan sintesa teori belajar konvensional dengan teori belajar Islam? Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Barat yang mempunyai worldviewsekuler-positifistik-materialistik, membatasi teori belajar pada gejala-gejala yang berkaitan dengan peristiwa belajar yang bersifat empiris-rasional-kuantitaif. Hal ini berimplikasi bahwa teori belajar behavioristik mereduksi manusia hanya terbatas pada mekanikal-pragmatis dan menjadikan individu berorientasi pada materi. Sementara teori belajar yang ditawarkan Islam, tidak hanya bersifat rasional-empiris, melainkan juga bersifat normatif-kualitatif. Terdapat teori belajar dalam Islam yang sepadan dengan teori belajar behavioristik, yaitu: 1) teori belajar akhlaq yang menekankan pada pembentukan tingkah laku, yang terdiri dari tiga model; taqlid (imitasi), ta’wid (pembiasaan), dan tajribah wa khata’ (trial and error). Meskipun demikian, tidak semua konsep teori belajar behavioristik itu bersifat destruktif atau bertentangan dengan Islam. Di sisi lain, masih terdapat teori-teori belajar yang tidak bertentangan dengan Islam, sehingga perlu diadakan sintesa. Dari sintesa kedua teori belajar tersebut muncul teori belajar terpadu yang selaras dengan idealisme Islam, yaitu kumpulan dari beberapa prinsip yang berkaitan dengan belajar yang bersumber dari al-Qur’an, al-Sunah, khazanah pemikiran intelektual muslim, dan mengadopsi teori belajar Barat yang relevan dengan Islam. Teori belajar terpadu ini memberikan implikasi pada proses pembelajaran yang holistik, efektif, dan efisien.

Abstract

Perceraian sudah menjadi gejala fenomenal di negara tercinta ini. Hampir di seluruh propinsi yang ada di Indonesia mempunyai kasus perceraian yang sangat tinggi tidak terkecuali propinsi Aceh yang sedang menerapkan syariat Islam khususnya di kabupaten Aceh Tengah. Menyikapi hal ini, kabupaten Aceh Tengah yang masih kental dalam melestarikan adat di masyarakatnya harus mengambil langkah yang jitu untuk meminimalisir tingkat perceraian ini. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran lembaga kampong dalam manajemen konflik keluarga dan kendala apa yang dihadapi mereka dalam memainkan peran ini. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan teknik wawancara sebagai sumber data primernya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lembaga kampong yang ada di kabupaten Aceh Tengah tidak maksimal dalam memainkan perannya dalam manajemen konflik keluarga, hanya sebagian kecil saja yang menjalankan peran ini. Hal ini dikarenakan terdapat beberapa kendala yang dihadapi oleh lembaga kampong seperti sempitnya ruang gerak yang mereka miliki karena dibatasi oleh qanun, undang-undang serta kewenangan lembaga lain seperti muspika. Selain itu, juga terkendala oleh adanya pergeseran nilai-nilai adat di masyarakat Gayo sehingga masih banyak peran-peran adat dahulu yang sudah kabur dikarenakan konflik yang berkepanjangan dan munculnya pendatang yang membawa budayanya sendiri. Solusi yang bisa dilakukan didiskusikan dalam penelitian ini.

Abstract

Discipline internalization in schools cannot be achieved successfully if it is not accompanied by family involvement. This study aims to determine the attitude toward discipline instilled and to find out the programs held by the school involving families and the factors that influence the implementation of family involvement in disciplining children. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data sources in this study were principals, class teachers, and parents in AL-Hikmah Integrated Islamic Kindergarten's children. The results showed that the discipline that emerged in children was being on time, obeying the rules, putting things in their place, and doing self-cleaning. Meanwhile, family involvement programs are held in the form of meetings in the first academic year, parenting, intensive communication, and assistance on field trip activities. Factors that support family involvement in school programs are due to the awareness and concern of parents for their child's development. Meanwhile the inhibiting factor is the busyness of parents.

Abstract

Currently religious moderation is the main program promoted by the Indonesian Ministry of Religion so that Indonesian Muslims act moderate in religion. This study aims to determine the perceptions of teachers of the Qur'an Hadith about religious moderation in the aspect of tolerance. This research is descriptive qualitative research using interviews and documentation as data collection techniques. The participants in this study were six Qur'an Hadith teachers and three headmasters. The results of the study show that the perceptions of the Qur'an Hadith teachers regarding tolerance in religious moderation are positive and they accept this concept where they agree that religious tolerance is mutual respect between religious communities in order to create harmonious social relations. They also considered that religious moderation must be developed continuously and taught to students.

Abstract

Women working abroad have become a significant phenomenon in Indonesia, prompting the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) to issue a fatwa that regulates and provides guidance for those pursuing it. This study aims to analyze the positive and negative psychological impacts of women working abroad and propose solutions to address these challenges. Additionally, this study also analyzes the MUI fatwa regarding delivering female workers abroad. This article is a literature review using content analysis as a data analysis method. The results of this paper show that psychologically women who work abroad have a positive impact such as supporting their family's economic needs and contributing to the national economy. Meanwhile, the negative impacts include higher rates of divorce, mental health issues, neglect of childcare responsibilities, and the development of consumerist behavior and poor financial management. The way to overcome these negative impacts include establishing joint commitments, choosing legal and authorized agents, setting specific time targets for employment, and maintaining regular communication with family members. Therefore, the MUI fatwa regarding this matter is relevant, it is suggested that a clause on joint commitments, particularly for married women, be included to enhance its effectiveness.

Abstract

Self-esteem is an individual's evaluation of himself that he is valuable, meaningful, and capable. Having high self-esteem will bring happiness. This study aims to explore the concept of self-esteem sourced from the Qur'an, al-hadith, and thought of Muslim scholars then compares it with the concept of self-esteem from the West initiated by Coopersmith. This research is a research library using content analysis as a data analysis technique. The results showed that the concept of self-esteem in Islam is the essence of Surah Ali Imran verse 139 which states that true Muslims are individuals holding the highest degree. The comparison of self-esteem between the West and Islam, it is known that the aspects of self-esteem in the Western perspective include competence, significance, power, and virtue. Meanwhile, in Islam, aspects of self-esteem are the character of true Muslims such as having a safe belief, correct worship, good morals, building Islamic family and control of lust. The comparison between self-esteem in Western and Islamic concepts lies in its substance in which from a Western perspective, self-esteem starts from one's own efforts to have high self-esteem. Meanwhile, from an Islamic perspective, starts from being a true Muslim by internalizing the values of Islamic teachings in his life.

Abstract

Religious conversion is not a new phenomenon in society, especially in the diverse nation of Indonesia. Interestingly, there are several Karo children in Kala Wih Ilang Takengon whose parents or extended families still adhere to their traditional beliefs, but the children have converted to Islam. This community service aims to strengthen the resilience of these young converts, ensuring they remain steadfast in their new faith, and to promote religious moderation. The approach used is Community Based-Research (CBR), which involves treating the supported children as partners in the service project. The steps taken include a pre-assessment activity involving site observation, an assessment to gather information from stakeholders about the children's conditions, and the implementation of the service, which includes providing reinforcement of resilience and religious moderation. The results of this service show that five young converts were supported: Hevi Harpani, Febrina, Marsella, Rivaldo Ginting, and Alex Barus. Currently, they are spread across Islamic boarding schools in Takengon and Aceh Besar. Strengthening resilience and religious moderation was conducted through a personal approach, using question-and-answer sessions and discussions related to the topics to be reinforced. Additionally, the service team provided gifts such as prayer equipment and reading materials to help the supported children remain consistent in their Islamic faith and practice it moderately. This community service recommends that local governments provide attention and support to these children so they can pursue their education. Abstract

Covering the entire body except for the face and palms is the rule of aurat for Muslim women according to Islam, that aimed at preserving their dignity and honour. However, certain professions require Muslim women to expose some of their forearms, leading to the issuance of a decree by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) regarding its permissibility. This paper aims to critically analyse the MUI decree on the attire of female medical personnel and provide alternative solutions to ensure that they do not expose any part of their aurat. This paper is a literature review utilizing content analysis. The findings of this paper indicate that the MUI decree number 4 concerning the attire of female medical personnel in 2009 contains two decisions: one regarding the ideal coverage of aurat for women and another regarding the permissibility of exposing some parts of the aurat during duty. The Sharia objectives contained in the first decision are aimed at preserving religion and life, while those in the second decision are aimed at safeguarding life and property. A solution to prevent female medical personnel from exposing their forearms is by using long sleeves or gloves. The implication of this paper is that MUI is expected to provide alternative options to maintain aurat in any circumstance. AbstrakMenutup seluruh tubuh kecuali wajah dan telapak tangan adalah aturan aurat bagi perempuan Muslimah menurut Islam dalam rangka menjaga kemuliaan dan kehormatannya. Namun demikian, dalam pekerjaan tertentu menuntut perempuan muslim untuk membuka sebagian lengannya sehingga MUI mengeluarkan fatwa tentang kebolehannya. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara kritis fatwa MUI tentang pakaian tenaga medis perempuan dan memberikan alternatif solusi agar tenaga medis tersebut tidak membuka sebagian auratnya. Tulisan ini merupakan kajian pustaka yang menggunakan analisis isi dalam analisanya. Hasil tulisan ini menunjukkan bahwa fatwa MUI nomor 4 tentang pakaian tenaga medis perempuan tahun 2009 mengandung dua putusan, yaitu tentang aurat perempuan yang seharusnya dan tentang kebolehan membuka Sebagian aurat ketika menjalankan tugas. Maqasid syariah yang terkandung pada putusan pertama adalah dalam rangka menjaga agama dan jiwa, sedangkan maqasid pada putusan kedua dalam rangka menjaga jiwa dan harta. Solusi yang bisa dilakukan agar tenaga medis perempuan tidak membuka sebagian lengannya adalah dengan menggunakan manset atau sarung tangan panjang. Implikasi dari tulisan ini adalah diharapkan MUI memberikan alternatif pilihan untuk tetap menjaga aurat dalam kondisi apa pun.
