Abstract

E-Book atau elektronik book disebut juga digital book yang saat ini merupakan media yang mulai banyak ditemukan. Saat ini E-Book lebih banyak diminati karena selain praktis untuk dibawah kemanapun E-Book juga membuat para penggunanya tidak perlu membawa buku secara fisik. Di kalangan mahasiswa, E-Book sudah menjadi hal lumrah karena tidak semua sumber bacaan terutama buku dapat diakses dalam bentuk fisik. Sejauh ini buku digital merupakan pilihan alternatif sebagai sumber referensi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan Media E-Book dan melihat efektivitas Media E-Book dalam Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia Mahasiswa Jurusan Administrasi Bisnis, Metodologi yang digunakan yakni penelitian dan pengembangan atau dikenal dengan Research and Development (R & D). metode penelitian dan pengembangan adalah metode yang umumnya banyak digunakan dalam dunia pendidikan, Penelitian pengembangan dapat diartikan sebagai cara ilmiah untuk memperoleh data sehingga dapat dipergunakan untuk menghasilkan, mengembangkan dan memvalidasi produk. Dengan metode pengumpulan data yakni Peneliti megumpulkan data melalui dokumentasi kegiatan validasi, dokumentasi kegiatan uji praktikalitas, dan Kuesioner yang terdiri atas Kuesioner validitas materi dan validitas media serta praktikalitas Media E-Book dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Sementara untuk prosedur pengembangan melalui tahapan-tahapan berikut: 1). Pengumpulan data, 2). Merancang media pembelajaran, 3). Uji coba produk 4). Implementasi, dan 5). Evaluasi. Dalam penelitian ini, Proses pembelajaran Mahasiswa diharapkan dapat mencapai hasil yang sebaik-baiknya, sehingga bila dinyatakan ada mahasiswa yang belum berhasil sesuai dengan harapan, maka diperlukan suatu proses pembelajaran yang membantu agar tercapai hasil yang diharapkan.

Abstract

Pelatihan dan simulasi TOEFL merupakan salah satu strategi yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa Inggris mahasiswa di UKM Bahasa Politeknik Negeri Manado. Program ini dirancang untuk memberikan pengalaman belajar yang komprehensif dan mendalam, dengan fokus pada keterampilan utama yang diujikan dalam TOEFL: Listening, Structure and written expression, dan reading. Melalui pelatihan dan simulasi tes TOEFL, mahasiswa dapat mengidentifikasi kelemahan mereka dan bekerja untuk memperbaikinya. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas pelatihan dan simulasi TOEFL di UKM Bahasa Politeknik Negeri Manado, serta mengidentifikasi skill yang masih perlu ditingkatkan oleh mahasiswa. Metode yang digunakan pada program ini yaitu metode ceramah dan interaktif dengan peserta. UKM Bahasa merupakan Mitra pada pengabdian ini yang terdiri dari 15 orang perwakilan dari berbagai tingkatan semester dan jurusan. Pengabdian ini menunjukkan antusias dan ketertarikan mahasiswa untuk belajar lebih mengenai TOEFL, ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan yang berguna bagi peningkatan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris mahasiswa khususnya di UKM Bahasa

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find Business Management students perceptions regarding the use of Quillbot as a writing tool for English writing skill improvement This research employs a qualitative case study approach. The research instruments were questionnaire and interview. The questionnaire closed-ended questions utilizing a four-point Likert scale (ranging from Strongly Agree to Strongly Disagree) shared via Google Forms. Additionally, semi-structured interview questions were formulated based on the questionnaire responses. The data obtained from the closed-ended questionnaire questions are quantitatively was analysed through frequency calculations. The total of the population are 40 business management students. The results indicate that AI has the capacity to enhance writing skills by aiding in idea generation, improving critical thinking, preventing plagiarism, and elevating academic writing quality. Consequently, integrating AI into higher education can effectively enhance the quality of writing education, aligning with the digital era's advancements and optimizing the learning process for effectiveness and efficiency.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to find out whether the use of English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) was effective in improving the English Language of Students majoring in Business Administration and to analyse the factors that influence the effectiveness of English as a medium Instruction (EMI) in improving the English Language Skills of Students majoring in Business Administration. This study employed qualitative research which the data was collected using observation and interviews. The collected data was interpreted qualitatively. This study employs purposive sampling. Class II MB 6 and IV MB 6 were the population and IV MB 6 was the sample with 30 students. The finding showed that implementing EMI can improve some aspects of English language skills, namely speaking and listening. On the other hand, some difficulties in understanding the topic delivered occurred. The factors that influence the effectiveness of English as a medium of Instruction (EMI) in improving English Language Skills are the Frequency of using English, the Frequency of listening to English speakers, and the interaction of the students with their classmates where they need to speak English during the classroom activity.

Abstract

This study explores the optimization of speaking abilities among Business Management students through the implementation of English as a Medium Instruction (EMI). With the increasing global demand for effective communication skills in the business environment, enhancing students' speaking proficiency is important. This study employed qualitative research in which the data was collected using an observation checklist for Business Management students, especially in the class of IV MB 6. Results indicate that EMI not only improves students' confidence in speaking but also enhances their fluency and overall communicative competence. Furthermore, the study highlights the importance of interactive teaching strategies and real-world applications in fostering an engaging learning environment. Students are encouraged to speak English in groups or respond the other speaker as they move through the material. Students practice language skills in context through discussions and projects, which improves their comprehension of the material and their ability to communicate ideas in English. The findings suggest that EMI can be an effective pedagogical tool in developing essential speaking skills for future business leaders.

Abstract

The use of digital media in English language learning represents a strategic approach to preparing students for the demands of the professional world, where technology and digital communication are highly prioritized. The integration of digital media enables students to access authentic English learning materials, thereby enhancing their linguistic competence in ways that align with workplace requirements. The urgency of this study lies in the necessity to understand the effectiveness and patterns of digital media utilization in supporting the achievement of English language competencies relevant to the needs of business and industry. The research explored the way digital media applied in English language learning at the Department of Business Administration. It focuses on the types of digital media used, the challenges faced, and the impact on students' English skills. The study employs a qualitative method, incorporating classroom observations and semi-structured interviews with students and lecturers. Purposive sampling was applied. The population includes all students and lecturers in the department. The sample consists of second-semester students from Business Administration (II AB1 and II AB2), Business Management (II MB1–MB5) and seven English lecturers. These research results are expected to give insights for evaluation and decision-making. They will help the Department of Business Administration work towards its goal of developing internationally competitive management professionals.
