Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan padat tebar optimal rajungan (Portunus pelagicus) yang dibesarkan di tambak. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Instalasi Tambak Percobaan Balai Riset Perikanan Budidaya Air Payau Maranak, Maros selama 98 hari. Tambak yang digunakan adalah berukuran 100 m2 tiga petak, 125 m2 tiga petak, dan tiga petak yang lain berukuran 150 m2. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok, dengan masing-masing luasan tambak 100, 125, dan 150 m2 sebagai kelompok. Perlakuan yang diaplikasikan adalah padat tebar 1 ind./m2, 3 ind./m2, dan 5 ind./m2 berukuran lebar karapas rata-rata 3,9 ± 0,6 cm dan bobot 8,3 ± 1,3 g; masing-masing tiga kali ulangan. Selama pemeliharan diberikan pakan ikan rucah dengan dosis 5% dari total biomassa per hari. Parameter yang diamati adalah pertumbuhan lebar karapas, bobot, dan sintasan serta produksi. Selama percobaan beberapa kualitas air diamati. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa padat tebar tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan lebar karapas dan bobot rajungan yang dibesarkan di tambak (P>0,05) tetapi berpengaruh nyata terhadap sintasan dan produksi (P<0,05). Perlakuan yang tertinggi sintasannya diperoleh pada perlakuan 1 ind./m2, yaitu 10,7%.The aim of this experiment was to find out the optimal stocking density of swimming crabs ( Portunus pelagicus ) reared in brackishwater ponds. The research was conducted in research station of Research Institute for Brackishwater Aquaculture Maranak, Maros, South Sulawesi for 98 days. Nine brackishwater ponds were used in this research and the dimension were 100 m2, 125 m2, and 150 m2, three brackishwater ponds, respectively. Experimental design used the Block Randomized Design, stocking densities were applied 1, 3, and 5 ind./m2 with three replicates respectively, average size of 3.9 ± 0.6 cm in carapace width and 8.3 ± 1.3 g in body weigth. During the rearing the crabs were fed with trace fish given of twice a day, dosage 5% of total body weight a day. During the experiment, the determined parameters were carapace width, survival rate and production. The result showed that the effect of stocking density not significantly different on the growth of carapace width and weight (P>0.05) but the survival rate was significantly different (P<0.05). The highest survival rate obtained on the treatment of 1 ind./m2, it was 10.7%.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan data dan informasi tentang sintasan dan produksi rajungan, udang vaname, ikan bandeng, dan rumput laut yang dipelihara secara polikultur di tambak. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Instalasi Tambak Percobaan Balai Riset Perikanan Budidaya Air Payau, Marana-Maros selama 105 hari. Tambak yang digunakan berukuran 25 m x 10 m/250 m2 dengan kedalaman 100 cm. Rajungan yang ditebar berukuran bobot 0,05 g sebanyak 500 ind., udang vaname dengan bobot 0,009 g sebanyak 1.000 ind., ikan bandeng berbobot 25 g sebanyak 50 ind., sedangkan rumput laut sebanyak 25 kg. Selama pemeliharaan diberikan pakan ikan rucah (Clupea sp.) dengan dosis 15% dari total biomass per hari. Sampling dilakukan pada awal dan akhir percobaan. Data yang diperoleh dibahas secara deskriptif. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa sintasan dan produksi rajungan masing-masing adalah 32,6% (18 kg), udang vaname 70% (10 kg), ikan bandeng 100% (30 kg), dan rumput laut 125% (36,25 kg).

Abstract

A study has been conducted in Maranak Pond Station of Research Institute for Coastal Aquaculture, Maros South Sulawesi.  The objective of this study was to analyse the benthos diversity on the swimming crab (Portunus pelagicus) culture in the brackishwater pond.  Sampling of benthos was conducted each month for four times.  Benthos  samples were obtained from 9 ponds. Pipe (pvc) in diameter of 2 cm was used to collect benthos then preserved in 10% of formalin solution. Microscopically identification of benthos was conducted until genus and counting cell method was used to calculate their population density.  Research results showed that benthos composition were 32 genera of phytoplankton and 15 genera of zooplankton. Varies benthos density at the range of 954 – 23,850 ind. / cm2 and genus at the range of 2 – 14 genera.  Gut content of swimming crab were 6 genera of phytoplankton, Copepod nauplii and unknown organism.   Benthos diversity indices was classified moderately stable in ponds 2 – 6 and 8 - 9 while in pond 1 and 7 were not stable.  Evenness indices of benthos in ponds 3 - 8 were relatively more normal of distribution than ponds 1, 2 and 9. Dominance indices of ponds 3 - 9 relatively better than ponds 1 and 2.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to control the growth of green algae (Chaetomorpha sp and Enteromorpha intestinalis) by rabbit fish (Siganus gutatus) reared in brackishwater ponds in different stocking density. The research was conducted in the Research Station of Research Institute for Coastal Aquaculture, Marana, Maros South Sulawesi for 100 days. Nine brackishwater ponds in the size 100 m2 (3 ponds), 125 m2 (3 ponds) and 150 m2 (3 ponds) with the green algae growth were used respectively in this research. Group randomized design was used in this research. This research use three stocking density of rabbit fish in thriplicates that were (A) 20 ind/100m2 , (B) 30 ind/100 m2 (40 ind/125 m2), and (C) 40 ind/100m2 (60 ind/150 m2), respectively. The rabbit fish used in this research were 9.1+ 0.8 cm in length and 15+ 0,6 g in body weigth. The monitored variables were body length and weigth, survival rate and water quality. The result showed that the effect of stocking density not significantly different on the growth of body length and weight and survival rate of rabbit fish reared in brackishwater pond (P>0.05), but significantly different on the productivity of rabbit fish (P<0.05). Green algae growth in the brackishwater ponds could be controlled with the rearing of rabbit fish in the stocking density 20 - 40 ind/100 m2.
