Abstract

Honeycomb construction is a mimicry construction of a nest of bees/wasps form. The original form of honeycomb is hexagonal but in the development of the manufacturing process is transformed into other forms, e.g., quadrilateral, pentagonal, and polygonal. Honeycomb construction is widely used as a wall or panel because of its lightweight, lightweight obtained from the influence of the cavity due to the connection of each facet. In general, this honeycomb construction is not used for construction that receives either axial or radial loads. The axial load testing, especially using a three-point bending test was used in this research. The pineapple fiber-reinforced polymer composite is proven to have good damping ability which is expected to be suitable for alternative materials in the manufacture of the honeycomb structure. The honeycomb structure is hexagonal, which will be the core of a construction. The construction will be axially loaded which will be represented by a three-point bending test. In addition to direct testing, simulation of loading using Autodesk Inventor software will be compared and analyzed further. The mechanical properties, especially the bending stress for construction with a honeycomb core, are particularly useful in the design of an impacted construction, bent, and lightweight. The result of the simulation shows the difference with the test result caused by several factors, i.e., 1. The thickness of the honeycomb was not uniform, 2. There is a defect (air cavity) in the specimen, 3. Simulation has difficulties in determining the load and support of the nonsolid structure

Abstract

Rambak crackers are familiar to us, because most people make rambak crackers as friends when eating a meal. This shows that rambak crackers have become a part of daily life. Dusun Bayanan, Gesikan, Gantiwarno, Klaten is a village where some of its residents produce rambak crackers. Marketing is done traditionally, some are sold directly in the market or through cooperatives. The Seroja Makmur Cooperative is a place for farmers to gather crackers and discuss how to grow their food industry. More than 10 rambak cracker business actors are incorporated in cooperatives, one of them is Sriwijaya cracker cracker maker. The manufacturing process carried out is still done manually with simple tools because of limited funding to develop the business. Problems faced by rambak cracker makers are very complex, ranging from equipment to marketing and business competition from other regions. But what they really complained about was the drying process of the cut crackers. the key to the long journey of rambak crackers, because if drying is not perfect the frying process will waste cooking oil and not expand. So that this product is not worth selling and just thrown away. An environmentally friendly dryer is a solution for the makers of rambak crackers. By maximizing the heat from the sun it is expected that drying is far more perfect and drying time can be accelerated, so the amount of production can increase. By not using wood fuel or oil, it is also expected to reduce air pollution and the greenhouse effect.

Abstract

In the village of Bayanan, Gesikan Gantiwarno Klaten there is a home industry in the food sector. The home industry makes rambak crackers with two types, that is thin rambak and long rambak which is usually called “gilig”. The number of rambak business in Dusun Bayanan is 10 and to maintain the price and marketing of this micro business group has formed a communication container in the form of a cooperative called Koperasi Seroja Makmur. In the process of making rambak crackers, almost all do the production manually. For example, mixing the dough and cutting / slicing the dough is done by hand so that it causes the thin thickness of the rambak crackers to be different. Besides other problems that arise are waste generation in the production process, including waste in the form of used cooking oil, ash / charcoal residue from burning and smoke which can pollute the surrounding environme. So an effort should be made to minimize the waste produced. And also there is no control of the end result from the production of rambak crackers so that the quality of the product is not well maintained. Appropriate technology for kneading dough mixer and dough slicer is a solution for makers of rambak crackers because it can increase production yields and maintain quality. By providing insights and simple ways clean production of a product also becomes a program to maintain product quality and control the quality of product results.

Abstract

Desa Padarangin merupakan salah satu desa di Kabupaten Wonogiri yang memiliki potensi hasil bumi berupa porang. Pengolahan hasil panen yang dihasilkan masih belum optimal karena adanya keterbatasan Sumber Daya Manusia dan belum adanya pendampingan terhadap pengolahan hasil pasca panen. Masalah lain yang dihadapi para petani porang ini adalah penggunaan peralatan dan metode pengolahan yang masih tradisional. Hal ini menyebabkan butuh waktu yang relatif lama serta tenaga yang lebih ekstra untuk pengolahan dari proses panen hingga penjualannya. Tim dosen IST AKPRIND Yogyakarta dalam Program Matching Fund 2021 memutuskan untuk melakukan perbaikan terhadap proses produksi di Kelompok Tani Yin Porang ini. Salah satu yang diperbaiki adalah proses perajangan porang dengan membuat mesin perajang atau pengiris porang. Penggunaan mesin pengiris porang dapat membantu memperbaiki dalam pengolahan proses panen para petani porang Desa Padarangin. Mesin pengiris dapat menghasilkan chips porang dengan ketebalan seragam (0,5 sampai 2cm), serta mempercepat waktu produksi karena memiliki kapasitas 30 kg/jam.

Abstract

Desa Tuksono terletak di Kapanewon Sentolo, Kabupaten Kulon Progo yang sebagian besar bermatapencaharian petani dengan potensi kebun jati seluas 100 hektare. Saat musim kemarau, sampah daun jati menimbulkan masalah lingkungan. Upaya pengolahan sampah daun jati menjadi kompos melalui Bank Sampah dan Kelompok Tani Binaan KIM Desa Tuksono sudah dilakukan, tetapi belum optimal. Selain itu, jumlah pakan ternak dari rumput kolonjono (Brachiaria mutica) tidak tersedia setiap saat. Dari permasalahan tersebut, tim pengabdian berupaya menyelesaikan permasalahan dengan mitra KIM Nyi Ageng Serang Community. Metode awal yang dilakukan berupa 1) sosialisasi program tentang perancangan TTG alat pencacah multifungsi, penghancur kotoran ternak, serta pendampingan mitra dalam pembuatan kompos daun jati dan pembuatan silase dan 2) observasi lokasi pembuatan kompos dan silase. Sosialisasi program diikuti oleh 30 peserta anggota mitra, tim pengabdian dan mahasiswa. Para peserta antusias mengikuti pelatihan dan bersedia membantu penyediaan bahan baku kompos dan silase, ruang pembuatan kompos dan silase disediakan seluas 4×5 m, dan sumber daya manusia penyelesaian program. Hasil sosialisasi, mitra mendapatkan pengetahuan pembuatan kompos secara efisien dari waktu yang semula 3 bulan menjadi 1 bulan dan pembuatan silase dari rumput kolonjono di waktu musim kemarau.
