Abstract

This paper deals with Ibn Khaldun and his theory of circle (cyclical theory). This theory is based on historical realities in nomadic societies and also urban societies which have their own social solidarity, organizational structure and civilization. From this fact, he is known as the first figure who construct scientifically the methodology of the history of human thought, so that history can be developed both as science and philosophy. Subsequently, Ibn Khaldun’s ideas become the seeds for the development of social sciences, including sociology and economics.Kata Kunci: Ibnu Khaldun, sejarah sosial, filsafat sejarah, ilmu-ilmu  sosial

Abstract

In modern era, the idea of Madani Society is one of  alternatives in building society wished by the majority of Indonesian people. They associate the idea of Madani Society with that of Madinah Society established by the Prophet Muhammad during his life in Madinah. Although Madinah society was simple, it was regarded highly modern in that era. The idea of  Madani Society lies on the principle of  khaira ummah (the best adherents) in Islam. Therefore, Islam orders its ummah (adherents) to lead to Madinah Society. Kata Kunci: Masyarakat madani, civil society, masyarakat Madinah,    khaira ummah

Abstract

This article specifically examines how the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method is applied in empowering local culture-based batik craftsmen in Kamonji Village, West Palu District, Palu City. In applying the PAR method, several techniques are used, including: observation, focus group discussion (FGD), sharing knowledge, in-depth interviews, training, and documentation. In the FGD, the batik craftsman community, as well as participants, can critique their social conditions, making them aware of the problems, needs, potential, and efforts to solve them in a participatory manner with the parties involved in the transformation effort. FGD participants recommended holding printed batik-making training activities to strengthen batik-making skills. This is considered more effective, efficient, and economically profitable compared to woven batik. Additionally, it can meet the need for developing local culture-based souvenirs in Palu City. This recommendation was followed up with training in making printed batik and sharing follow-up plans.

Abstract

Background. Self-harm among teenagers has become an increasing public health concern, often linked to emotional distress, social pressure, and undiagnosed mental health issues. Traditional intervention strategies often detect these behaviors after they occur. The emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) in mental health opens new possibilities for earlier detection and proactive intervention, especially through behavior tracking technologies. Purpose. This study aimed to explore early intervention strategies for self-harm prevention by utilizing AI-driven behavior tracking tools among teenagers. The research also examined the potential effectiveness of AI in identifying early warning signs based on digital behavior patterns. Method. This mixed-methods study involved 150 teenagers aged 13–18 across three urban schools. AI-based applications were installed on participants’ devices with consent to monitor digital activity patterns (e.g., sleep irregularities, social withdrawal, online search behavior). Psychological assessments and structured interviews were also conducted. Data were analyzed using a combination of statistical trend analysis and qualitative content analysis. Results. Findings indicate that AI algorithms successfully detected behavioral anomalies correlated with self-harm risk, such as significant decreases in social interaction, increased usage of depressive language, and disrupted sleep patterns. The AI tool enabled counselors to initiate timely interventions before self-harm behaviors escalated. Participants reported greater emotional safety and support when interventions occurred early. Conclusion. AI-driven behavior tracking shows promise as an early intervention tool for preventing self-harm in teenagers. Integrating such technology with school counseling programs could enhance mental health support systems. However, ethical concerns regarding privacy and data sensitivity must be addressed to ensure responsible implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation and economic progress of beneficiaries of the Family Hope Program (PKH) in Tomini Utara Village, Tomini Sub-district, Parigi Moutong Regency. The method used is qualitative descriptive, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the implementation of PKH is fairly good but has not yet achieved its optimal goals. Identified issues include mistargeted aid distribution and a lack of information provided to recipients regarding data changes. Economically, there has been progress such as meeting basic needs, home renovations, purchasing farmland, and starting small businesses. Suggestions are given to program implementers to improve targeting and communication, and to beneficiaries to be more proactive in seeking information. Future researchers are encouraged to explore this topic further from different perspectives.
