Abstract

Educational media is one of the factors that influence the learning process. One form of educational media that is effectively and efficiently used in the learning process is mobile learning. Because, by using mobile learning learning can be done anywhere and anytime, apart from that learning by placing the smart phone on will motivate students who in the digital era like today who prefer to operate smart phones. However, the skills and expertise possessed by teachers as educators and instructors as well as media makers and materials are still minimal. Therefore, the Biology education of IPI Garut held a training on Making Mobile Learning Media Based on Html 5 for Ipa Teachers in the Districts of Pameungpeuk to make teachers trained in making good mobile-based learning media. This training was held in Pamengpeuk District, which was located at MAN 3 Pamengpeuk, Garut Regency. The activity was held on December 22, 2018. This activity was attended by 17 teachers who were members of the Biology MGMP. The data obtained is data from the training participants in the form of questions raised about the activities carried out. The data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive. The results obtained by the training on the use of mobile lerning are very helpful for teachers in making learning media. effectiveness in the use of learning media based on mobile learning is considered good by most teachers, but there are also some teachers who judge it to be less effective due to certain factors, such as schools implementing regulations that students are prohibited from bringing gadgets to school. However, basically the use of educational media by using mobile learning can have a major impact on creativity and effectiveness during the learning process.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve teacher competence in distance learning during the adaptation period of new habits through the creation of online learning media, in particular making online questions based on google classrooms and interesting quizzes that can be easily used by teachers and students at SMPN 1 Banyuresmi. The service activity consists of two stages, the first stage is the delivery of material and the second stage is the practice of making online questions. The activity was attended by all teachers of SMPN 1 Banyuresmi. The training material is making online questions based on google classroom and quizziz. The results of the activity showed that community service was going well and smoothly. This was marked by a good response from the training participants and enthusiasm during the training and the application of online question making through the classroom and quizziz applications. the good is the point of view of assessment in this community service. Through this training, universities carry out their role to contribute to improving the competence of teachers or educators, especially in making learning media and online questions in Distance Learning activities. The obstacles that arise at this training stage are the relatively short time allocation, so that not all teachers can complete online question making

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out how the utilization of education technology development area in the manufacture of learning media by certified teachers in Garut Regency, West Java. This research is qualitative research using descriptive method. The research subjects involved were ten certified teachers. As a result of the research, all teachers have utilized educational technology in the manufacture of learning media, especially during the COVID-19 outbreak which has made the government implement distance learning, so that teachers are required to understand and master a variety of interesting learning media creation. Most teachers take advantage of computer-based media both online and offline, because it is more accessible to students. In addition, audio visual media is also the most used media by teachers, because it is considered to be a medium that can interest students in learning. In conclusion, the use of learning media by certified teachers mostly leads to the utilization of multimedia computer-based technology with more choice on audio visual materials both online and offline in providing learning materials, taking into account aspects of the availability of supporting facilities and infrastructure in schools. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to create and develop learning media in the form of applications used for plant identification in The Division of Pinophyta. The approach used is conventional approach with Expert System Development Life Cycle (ESDLC) method from Durkin, the inference mechanism used is Forward Chaining, while the software, used for Data Base Management System (DBMS) is MySQL, Unified Modeling Language (UML), Personal Home Page (PHP). Based on the results of the application assessment test in general obtained results that this expert system application deserves to be used as a learning media with criteria for Quality of end-user interface design (55.5%), Engagement (52.3%), Interactivity (64.3 %) and Tailorability (52.4%). Conclusion, application made by Expert System Development Life Cycle (ESDLC) method, with Forward Chaining inference mechanism worthy to be used as a learning medium of plant identification in Divisio Pinophyta. Abstract

Abstract — The existence of teaching materials in a learning activity has many benefits, including making learning activities more interesting, providing opportunities for students to learn independently and reduce dependence on the presence of lecturers, and provide convenience to students in learning the competencies that must be mastered. Development of Visual Literacy -Based Digital Modules Using Development and Development (R&D). Methods that produce a product in the form of a digital module while the development model uses an ADDIE model which consists of five stages which includes analysis, design, development, implementation  evaluation. At the evaluation phase the research instrument was used consisting of a practicality questionnaire validation sheet. Validation sheet aims to see the validity of the product developed. The validation sheet is filled by two experts. Practicality questionnaire aims to see the practicality level of digital module products. While the trial subjects that have used the developed digital module are second -level students of the Biology Education Study Program of IPI Garut class of 2022 who took the Botanical Panerogamae course. Data analysis techniques using descriptive analysis. From the distribution of the questionnaire, the results were found that e-modules were suitable for use as learning media with a percentage of 84.7 % of media experts, 90.7 % of the learning material and learning design experts and 85.7 % of student responses. While in terms of practicality e-module obtained a percentage value of 83.8% which is included in the good category, meaning that e-modules are said to be practical. Finally, to find out the effectiveness of e-modules, measurements are measured by distributing questionnaires to students, based on student response questionnaires to e-modules obtained a percentage value of 89.6 % with a good category means that the e-module of botanical panerogamae is effectively used as learning media.Keywords—Digital Module, Visual Literacy Abstrak — Keberadaan bahan ajar dalam suatu kegiatan pembelajaran memiliki banyak manfaat, antara  lain  membuat  kegiatan  belajar  lebih  menarik,  memberikan kesempatan mahasiswa untuk belajar secara mandiri dan mengurangi ketergantungan terhadap  kehadiran  dosen,  serta  memberikan  kemudahan  kepada  mahasiswa dalam mempelajari kompetensi yang harus dikuasainya. Pengembangan modul digital berbasis literasi visual menggunakan metode pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D) yang menghasilkan sebuah produk berupa modul digital sedangkan model pengembangannya menggunakan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima tahapan yang meliputi analisis (analysis), desain (design), pengembangan (development), implementasi (implementation), dan evaluasi (evaluation). Pada tahap evaluasi digunakan instrumen penelitian terdiri dari lembar validasi angket praktikalitas. Lembar validasi bertujuan untuk melihat validitas produk yang dikembangkan. Lembar validasi diisi oleh dua orang ahli . Angket praktikalitas bertujuan untuk melihat tingkat kepraktisan produk modul digital. sementara subjek uji coba yang telah menggunakan modul digital yang dikembangkan yaitu mahasiswa tingkat dua program studi pendidikan biologi IPI Garut angkatan 2022 yang mengambil mata kuliah Botani Phanerogamae. Teknik analisa data menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Dari penyebaran angket didapat hasil bahwa e-modul sudah layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran dengan masing-masing persentase sebesar 84,7 % dari ahli media, 90,7 % dari ahli materi dan desain pembelajaran serta 85,7% dari respon mahasiswa. Sementara dari segi kepraktisan e-modul diperoleh nilai  persentase sebesar 83,8% yang termasuk dalam kategori baik, artinya  bahwa e-modul dikatakan praktis. Terakhir, untuk mengetahui keefektifan e-modul dilakukan pengukuran dengan melakukan penyebaran angket kepada mahasiswa, berdasarkan angket respon mahasiswa terhadap e-modul diperoleh nilai persentase sebesar 89,6 %  dengan kategori baik artinya e-modul botani phanerogamae  efektif digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran.Kata Kunci — Literasi Visual, Modul digital

Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul “Analisis Kemampuan Literasi Sains Siswa pada Penerapan Beberapa Model Pembelajaran”. Bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan literasi sains siswa pada penerapan beberapa model pembelajaran. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Juli 2020. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi literatur yang menggunakan metode deskriptif dari hasil penelitian yang dipublikasikan pada tahun 2015-2019, dan menggunakan database Google Scholar. Beberapa model pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains siswa terdapat empat model pembelajaran yaitu: model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) dengan metode praktikum dan demonstrasi multimedia interaktif (MMI), model inquiry terbimbing, learning cycle 5E, dan model inquiry. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan pada penerapan beberapa model pembelajaran bahwa keempat model pembelajaran tersebut efektif digunakan pada saat proses pembelajaran berlangsung dan meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains siswa. Abstract

There is a need to prepare college students with non-cognitive or 21st Century skills to prepare them for successful college and future careers. As the number of applied STEM in Indonesian education increases, research is needed to understand how STEM learning projects promote student 21st Century skills. This study used a case study and mixed-methods conversion design to convert qualitative data into quantitative data by applying pre-established rubrics. This study provides evidence that STEM learning projects are beneficial to promote students' 21st Century skills, which are: (a) knowledge construction, (b) real-world problem solving, (c) skilled communication, (d) collaboration, and (e) self-regulation. The result shows that students demonstrate the highest grade on collaboration and the lowest on knowledge construction. Although most of the student work introduced multiple 21st Century skills and the overall scores were satisfactory, student knowledge construction still needs improvement. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jbt.v11.i1.27046

Abstract

Weeds are one of the obstacles to the growth of lowland rice cultivation which can reduce the quantity of rice yields so that weeds need to be controlled. This study aims to determine the effect of metamifop 150 g/L herbicide to control weeds in lowland rice cultivation. The experiment was carried out on paddy rice cultivation land in Langansari Village, Tarogong Kaler Cipanas District, Garut Regency, West Java, from November 2022 to February 2023. The experiment used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with six treatments and four replications. The experiment consisted of four treatments with the active ingredient metamifop 150 g/L at a dose of A: 5.4 ml, B: 7.2 ml, C: 9.0 ml, D: 10.80 ml, E: manual weeding treatment and F : control treatment with no weed control. The results showed that the application of the herbicide with the active ingredient metamifop 150 g/L at a dose of D: 10.80 ml was able to suppress weed growth but the results were not significantly different from the dose of 5.4 ml which was the lowest dose to reduce weed resistance and plant residues so that dose A : 5.4 ml able to suppress the growth of weeds Echinochloa crusgalli, Monochoria vaginalis, Cyperus rotundus, Spenochlea zeylanica, Panicum repens, Cyperus difformis and total weeds.

Abstract

Biologi sebagai cabang sains, bukan hanya belajar tentang pengetahuan konten melainkan juga belajar tentang proses. Oleh karena itu, dalam pembelajarannya, diperlukan kegiatan praktikum yang merupakan bagian integral dari pembelajaran sains. Potensi besar dari kegiatan praktikum dalam pembelajaran biologi tersebut, tidak diimbangi dengan sarana prasarana di lapangan seperti laboratorium, alat-alat laboratorium dan bahan untuk melaksanakan praktikum. Oleh karena itu, Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan tindakan untuk mengisi atau menjembatani gap antara konsep ideal tersebut dengan kondisi di lapangan yang tidak ideal tersebut melalui kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan terkait alat-alat laboratorium beserta penggunaannya dan pengenalan praktikum sederhana biologi sekolah. Mitra pengabdian adalah 6 guru biologi dan 32 siswa dari SMP Pakenjeng yang terletak di wilayah selatan kota Garut. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan melalui metode ekspositori, pameran, demonstrasi dan diakhiri dengan refleksi. Data diambil menggunakan angket berbasis skala Likert dan dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Indikator keberhasilan pengabdian adalah adanya peningkatan pengetahuan, minat, dan kesediaan untuk mengikuti pengabdian selanjutnya. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa 81 % peserta sudah meningkat pengetahuannya tentang alat-alat laboratorium. Selain itu, 63% peserta sangat setuju bahwa dengan demonstrasi praktikum, antusiasme dalam menyimak pembelajaran biologi menjadi meningkat. Sementara itu, 80 % peserta menyatakan puas terhadap pelaksanaan pengabdian ini dan menyatakan bersedia mengikuti jika diadakan acara pengabdian kembali dengan tema lainnya Training on the Use of Laboratory Equipment and Introduction to Simple Biology Practicum Biology, as a branch of science, not only learns about content knowledge but also learns about processes. Therefore, practicum activities are needed in learning, which is an integral part of science learning. The great potential of practicum activities in biology learning needs to be balanced with infrastructure facilities in the field, such as laboratories, laboratory equipment, and materials to carry out the practicum. Therefore, it is necessary to take action to fill or bridge the gap between the ideal concept and the conditions in the field that could be better through community service activities. This service aims to provide knowledge related to laboratory equipment and its use and introduction to simple practicum in school biology. The service partners are six biology teachers and 32 students from SMP Pakenjeng, located in the southern area of Garut City. This community service activity is carried out through expository methods, exhibitions, and demonstrations and ends with reflection. Data were taken using a Likert scale-based questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics. An indicator of successful service is increased knowledge, interest, and willingness to participate in further service. The results of service activities showed that 81% of participants had increased their knowledge of laboratory equipment. In addition, 63% of participants strongly agreed that enthusiasm for listening to biology learning increased with practicum demonstrations. Meanwhile, 80% of participants expressed satisfaction with the implementation of this service and expressed willingness to participate in a re-service event that was held with other themes.
