Abstract

The central and vital role and function of language make it very interesting to continue to be explored, questioned, and studied. The Republic of Indonesia has an official language used by its citizens, namely Indonesian. This language aims to unite the Indonesian nation, which is multicultural or has ethnic and cultural diversity, so that there is no distance separating fellow Indonesian citizens from hundreds of ethnic groups, according to the 1928 Youth Pledge Convention. What must be realized now is the use of Indonesian, which needs to be stronger. The weakness is not that it is not used at all but foreign terms that enter public discussion and tend to be considered more prestigious. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method that refers to literature sources and the results of previous studies. The existence of the Indonesian language can decline when most Indonesian people are happy and proud to use a foreign language considered more respectable and classier. However, the condition for the Indonesian language's existence is still in a safe stage. The Indonesian language can continue to exist by continuing to preserve it by adhering to the overall context and linguistic rules and developing its constructions by the needs and desires of civilization.

Abstract

Dysgraphia is a writing disorder that is often found in children in elementary school. Dysgraphia children are usually called children with special needs or stupid because they are slow in conveying their thoughts through writing. The attitude towards dysgraphia children by teachers and parents is still very lacking and often considered trivial. Therefore, parents and teachers must act actively in learning children's written language. The purpose of this study is to analyze the form and characteristics of written language errors of dysgraphia children aged 9-12 years in the Inclusion Class and to find out the appropriate method for learning written language for dysgraphia children in the Inclusion Class. This research used the qualitative method. The results showed that written language errors in each child were different in terms of the shape of the letters, the thickness of the writing, and the error patterns experienced by each child. The error that is often found in child 1 is the replacement of reflected letters. Child 2 is writing letters upside down. Child 3 is the replacement of consonants. And child 4 is the addition of letters. To help children with dysgraphia learn, various methods of learning are needed, which need to be practiced continuously.

Abstract

With the Pancasila concept as a semantic frame, this report conceives democracy as a discursive system created by language. The research uses an interdisciplinary approach, integrating political theory, linguistics, and cultural analysis. It applies a mixed-method design, combining critical discourse analysis, corpus linguistics, and a quantitative model. The dataset contains about 950,000 words of electoral discussions (2019–26). These include official statements, campaign narratives, news reports, and digital communication. The findings reveal a semantic shift from deliberative language grounded in Pancasila, such as musyawarah and mufakat, to a competitive, evaluative, identity-based rhetorical mode. Competitive lexical items account for 41.7% of all words in the data. The count of deliberative terms drops to 18.6%. There is a strong positive relationship between the intensity of data evaluation and engagement (r = 0.72, p < .001). Qualitative examination shows competing framing, symbolic simplification, and identity polarisation dominate. Elections become a rivalry rather than a collective decision-making process. This semantic change is verified against three provable sources. The first is the nationwide shift from Pancasila scholarship to digital communication, which has heightened its seriousness. The research concludes that the fragility of Indonesia's direct electoral system stems from semantic differences between Pancasila’s deliberative aspect and patterns of public language. To maintain democratic legitimacy, social harmony, and long-term viability, Indonesia's electoral democracy must be adjusted

Abstract

This study, affiliated with emerging countries, explores strategic partnerships among Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei in today’s global multipolar politics. It uses a linguistic approach, based on Critical Discourse Analysis and Corpus-Based Semantic Mapping. The research reviews 312 state-owned publications from 2024 to 2026 to analyse how language shapes geopolitical cooperation. The findings show significant semantic merging, with Indonesia and Malaysia converging the most. This indicates a shared, albeit asymmetric, discursive framework. Quantitative data reveal that framing and conceptual metaphor (38.2% and 29.5%, respectively) dominate rhetorical strategies. Qualitative analysis shows Indonesia as the main force, Malaysia as a mediator, and Brunei as maintaining order in its territory and nearby areas if needed. Triangulating the conclusions shows that higher semantic matching drives more regional mutual aid, especially in ASEAN terms post-2011. The corpus also contains 29 documents; discursive fragmentation weakens coalition cohesion by adding vagueness. The study introduces 'semantic matching' as a new way to measure and assess national behaviour in international politics. These findings highlight how emerging-country groups can build shared narratives that align with the global landscape

Abstract

The Betawi language, which is the indigenous language of the original inhabitants of Jakarta, is currently in a precarious state due to rapid advancements and changes within the city's social and cultural landscape. This creates an urgent need for robust and effective strategies to conserve this linguistic heritage. The concern is rooted in the fear that the extinction of the Betawi language would result in the failure to transmit valuable Betawi traditions, technology, cultural norms, and customs to subsequent generations. Such a loss would signify the decay of a rich and unique civilization. This study is designed to assess the current health and vitality of the Betawi language, drawing upon the disciplines of Social Semiotics, Demography, and Sociology for its methodological framework. Rather than relying exclusively on quantitative data, this research employs a qualitative approach to capture the subtleties, nuances, and specific preferences related to the language's use and significance. The study's findings point out that the Betawi language is in an even more vulnerable state now than it has been in the past, and this decline has severe ramifications for the Betawi community. Despite these challenges, educational interventions show promise to aid in the preservation of the language. Going forward, it is imperative to develop a well-rounded strategy for the preservation of the Betawi language that involves collaboration from a variety of stakeholders across different sectors

Abstract

This research aims to explore how the Betawi language impacts the speech patterns of adolescents in Jakarta. Utilizing qualitative approach and descriptive analytics, the study focuses on words within sentences that show Betawi interference, categorized into affixation, reduplication, composition, and acronyms. Key findings reveal significant Betawi influence in the areas of affixation and reduplication. For instance, words were often modified with Betawi-inspired prefixes, suffixes, or confixes, and a specific form of repetition, 'dwilingga,' was also evident. Interestingly, no Betawi interference was found in composition and acronyms. This suggests Betawi language has a selective influence on speech morphology, primarily affecting affixation and reduplication. The study provides valuable insights for future research on linguistic influences in multi-ethnic and multi-lingual settings like Jakarta

Abstract

The Betawi language, akin to many global languages, is on the brink of fading due to various factors, one being the evolution of civilization. This decline jeopardizes several facets of the native Betawi culture. Hence, efforts to maintain and preserve the Betawi language are imperative. The challenge lies in understanding the extensive scope of Betawi's linguistic and textual context. Thus, it's crucial to develop a targeted strategy that pinpoints the primary elements influenced by the degradation and endangerment of the language, particularly in the Betawi community. This study identifies these elements after extensive on-field research, spanning over a year with round-the-clock observations. The research found that a sociological qualitative analysis, especially focusing on society's social evaluation, is the most effective method. Consequently, five key areas were identified to analyze the repercussions of the language's decline: linguistic aspects, individual identity, inter-generational communication, knowledge transfer, and economic implications

Abstract

The long process of economic modernization and political democracy in Indonesia has changed the face of Indonesian society, making it more focused on the industrial sector but has still not succeeded in moving the people's economic sector effectively. However, the dynamics of democratic politics in Indonesia are still far from the ideal mandated by the Pancasila deliberative values. Recent political and economic changes, such as development policies that pay less attention to local wisdom and increasingly widespread political liberalization, have had a negative impact on Indonesia's cultural diversity and identity. This research aims to rebuild understanding of local knowledge and political values held by various ethnic groups and communities in Indonesia, with the hope of discovering potential social capital that can be used to improve democratic political practices. The focus of this research is divided into two main aspects: first, analysis of ethnic groups with an emphasis on the Wajo and Minang tribes, and second, a review of several communities living in city parks on the island of Java. The theoretical approach applied is consultative democracy theory, which focuses on the importance of deliberation in the political decision-making process. Within the framework of political anthropology, this research is considered a case study that aims to understand more deeply the dynamics of local politics, as well as the cultural values contained therein. The research method used is qualitative-interpretive, which allows researchers to explore hidden meanings and understandings in the views and experiences of research subjects. Thus, it is hoped that this research will make an important contribution in strengthening the cultural and social foundations for more inclusive and sustainable democratic political practices in Indonesia

Abstract

The essence of a nation's identity, rooted in its traditional values and philosophy, existed before the country was formed as a sovereign entity. This intrinsic connection with tradition forms the basic principles that form the foundation of nation building. Indonesia, like other countries, faces a number of challenges, often facing complexity and distortion in finding solutions to each unique situation. However, it is believed that by utilizing the philosophical foundations and traditional values inherent in its culture, Indonesia can navigate and resolve these problems effectively. The essence of this approach is the recognition of the important role of philosophy in guiding societal norms and behavior. In particular, the adoption of religious values, such as those contained in Islam, has great potential to ground society in the eternal truths represented in traditional customs. Islam, characterized by its universal nature as a religion of “rahmatan lil’alamin” (mercy for all nature), offers a comprehensive framework that can address various aspects of human existence. This study emphasizes the importance of revitalizing the life orientation of the community, especially the Batak tribe, by aligning it with the principles contained in the Poda Na Lima philosophy. By explaining the relationship between their identities as Muslim and Batak, individuals can bring greater resonance and authenticity to the structures and infrastructure of their society. Using a qualitative approach rooted in critical discourse analysis, this research aims to reveal the complex relationship between traditional philosophy, religious teachings, and contemporary challenges. Through examination of the Poda Na Lima framework, which consists of five basic principles, it becomes clear that these principles contain deep wisdom and serve as a guide to community behavior.
