Abstract

Punch force is the main factor in the success of making holes using the punching process. However, the punching process cannot make a hole when the punch force in the machine is smaller than the punch force in the material. Preheating can be used to reduce the punch force in the material. This research aims to develop the preheating method with low current electricity for reducing the punch force in the material. The preheating method is used two tubular type heating elements with an electric current of about 0.9 A. This method can be heating the material below recrystallization temperature (100 and 150 °C). Preheating at 100 and 150 °C can reduce the punch force by 4 and 11% compared to without preheating. These results can be concluded the material heating below recrystallization temperature is effectively enough to reduce the punch force. Thus, the punching process is able to make a hole even though the punch force in the machine is smaller than the punch force in the material.

Abstract

Rice is one of the basic foodstuffs consumed by the people of Indonesia as well as Bangka Belitung Islands Province more precisely Bangka Regency Riau Silip Village Banyu Asin. Freshly harvested rice is usually still not separated from straw / malai. The process of harvesting rice still uses traditional tools or also called gebotan. The threshing machine available in Banyu Asin has not been able to maximize the results of the platform, which resulted in the length of the threshing process. Based on these needs, it was designed to build a rice threshing machine to facilitate the threshing process. Rice threshing machine design refers to the VDI 2222 method of development which has 4 (four) stages, namely: planning, conceptualizing, designing, and finishing, then assessed based on technical, and economic aspects. The conclusion obtained during the design process of the rice threshing machine is the design of the machine weighing 60 kg lighter than the existing machine is easy to move and the design of the machine whose components are easy to remove installs. The design of a rice threshing machine that is able to knock rice as much as 86.4kg / hour, compared to existing machines is only able to knock rice as much as 30kg / hour.

Abstract

In the process of raising goats, one of the factors that affect the process of goat growth and development is the availability of feed in the surrounding environment. In an effort to meet this availability, it is necessary to have a food source that is always available and usually comes from plants that exist in nature, such as grass or leaves. The availability of animal feed is not immune from the influence of weather conditions and the level of availability of weeds around it which are needed in large quantities. To deal with this, some farmers use alternative feed sources, one of which has been used is palm fronds and leaves and other organic waste. With the size of the palm frond which is quite large, it is necessary to chop it up so that it can be consumed directly by goats (Latifa S, Anto A, David S, Jeni W, Alexander Y). Of course, manual counting can be done, but it is not very effective and requires a lot of time and energy. Based on these problems, it is necessary to mechanization of the midrib and leaf counting process in order to facilitate the process. The purpose of science and technology for the community in this goat farmer group in general is to improve the quality and capacity of livestock production. In addition, by helping the availability of goat feed through the use of alternative feed sources other than the sources that have been available so far and applying appropriate technology for the process of chopping palm fronds and other organic waste. This machine is capable of chopping palm fronds and leaves with a maximum size of 2 cm. Based on the results of interviews with farmers, this size is a size that can be chewed or processed by goats when eating. Then, through this IbM activity, it is expected to be able to establish cooperation between partners and proposers from educational institutions. Partners can develop their business because the need for animal feed is more fulfilled through animal feed chopper machines, while institutions can directly apply science and technology and apply their knowledge into appropriate technology and can introduce Polmanbabel educational institutions more broadly to the community.

Abstract

Shielded Metal Arc Welding is one of the most widely used welding in welding work because it is easier and cheaper than other electric arc welding. In welding, welding defects often occur, welding defects are triggered by the use of amperes, welding speed, and the movement of the welding arc. In this study, the use of various amperes will be carried out, intended to determine which amperage is more optimal so that it can eliminate welding defects that occur. Experiments were carried out with the same welding parameters using different amperes, namely five samples of 85 ampere welding, five samples of 95 amperage welding, 5 samples of 105 ampere welding. The phenomenon of arc movement, welding speed will be observed using a camera so that its effect on the welding results is known. This study did not get the results of the use of the most optimal welding current so that the purpose of this study was not achieved, where the purpose of this study was the use of the most optimal welding current at the 4F welding position so as to eliminate welding defects that occurred in the SMAW welding. In the results of this study, it was found that there were welding defects in each variation of amperage used, namely amperes 85, amperes 95, amperes 105.

Abstract

Shaft is one of the materials that must have a low surface roughness value from the machining process, especially using the Tornos Geminis S.L semi-automatic lathe. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the furious form on the surface roughness of the S45C material. This study used factor variables that are thought to affect the shape and surface roughness of the S45C material, namely, the cutting angle of the chisel with a level (80o, 82o, 84o), feeding depth with a level (0.4 mm, 0.6 mm, 0.8 mm) and Spindle rotation with levels (200 RPM, 280 RPM, 360 RPM). The lowest surface roughness value for the S45C material was obtained from the variation of the chisel cutting angle factor of 80º, infeed depth of 0.4 mm, and spindle rotation of 280 RPM with a surface roughness value of 5.171 . From the lowest value of surface roughness, a tubular growl (short) is produced.

Abstract

Lathes include one type of tooling machine, the working principle in the lathe process is the process of removing parts of the workpiece. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of spindle rotation, dietary depth, and cooling media variations (Oli, dromus, air). The process of subsubsting uses the MAWItec D.O.O lathe.B 160x1000, and uses S45C material. This study uses the RSM method. Minimal research results in this study with variations in parameters spindle rotation 1000 RPM (factor 1 level 3), nutritional depth 0.7 (factor 2 level 2) and air conditioning media (3) (factor 3 level 3) with a resulting roughness value of 1,662 μm.

Abstract

Bone joint plates have a high production potential. This can be seen from the number of cases related to trauma to the bone which has increased quite high in Indonesia. The jaw bone joint plate or commonly known as the mini plate serves to connect the bones in the jaw that has been traumatized or broken. The manufacture of mini plates generally uses an EDM machine, wire cutting and laser cutting which can only process with a gradual working principle. Based on the description above, it is necessary to manufacture a micro punch machine for the manufacture of jaw bone joint plates (mini plates), so that they can be used to mass produce mini plates. This study aims to design a mini punch machine for the manufacture of a mini plate using a research method that refers to the book Product Design and Development (Karl T. Ulrich, Steven D. Eppinger) in order to obtain an optimal machine design. The results obtained based on the research method used, obtained a micro punch machine design for the manufacture of a mini plate using the working principle of a progressive tool, a pneumatic prime mover and a material strip drive using a fedder system.

Abstract

Kemplang is a typical Bangka Belitung food made from mackerel or machete fish, and can also be made from squid, shrimp and sago. Kemplang has a round shape with a savory and crunchy taste when bitten. Kemplang can be consumed directly and can also be combined with typical Bangka Belitung shrimp paste which will make the taste of kemplang more diverse. The method of implementation at the completion of this final project is outlined on the flow chart. Conceptualizing a method like this has the aim that the work to be done is more directed so that what is done runs smoothly. Engine design using the VDI 2222 method makes it easier for designers to make machine designs so that they get a kemplang slicer design that can slice kemplang. PKK in penyamun village have difficulty in the process of slicing kemplang because they still use human labor, non-uniform kemplang slices and the time required in the slicing process is long. The slicing machine will be kemplang which is driven by an electric motor can slice 5 kemplang butts with a length of 30 cm and a diameter of 50 cm, and is also able to produce kemplang sheets with a thickness of ± 2 mm with a capacity of 20 kg / hour.

Abstract

During this time animal fibers were often used only for textile products, from the mechanical properties of the Tarantula Web that were already known, the idea arose to utilize the Web Tarantula as a composite reinforcement. Composites will not form if they only use reinforcement, it is necessary to have a mixture of matrices so that the composite can blend perfectly. This study will use a Hollow Glass Microsphere (HGM) & Epoxy matrix. The printing process is carried out in layers, the first layer pours the homogeneous half of HGM-Epoxy on the mold until it covers the base of the mold, then assembles the weighed web into the mold, and finally pours back the remaining HGM-Epoxy until it fills the mold. The tested specimen data was then processed using Microsoft Excel to determine the effect of volume fraction on the impact strength of the Web Tarantula composite with HGM-Epoxy homogeneous matrix. The conclusion in this study is, Web Tarantula fillers 10%, 20%, and 30% do not greatly affect the homogeneous mechanical strength of HGM-Epoxy 20%/80% and 30%/70%, from six specimens with different volume fractions, after impact testing using the Charpy impact method, the five composites have the same value, only one specimen with Web 30%, HGM 30%, and Epoxy 70% has slightly different values. It can be concluded that the volume fraction of Web Tarantula, Homogeneous HGM-Epoxy does not add impact strength to the specimen made.

Abstract

Charcoal briquettes are charcoal sticks made from coconut shells and molded using a machine to produce very high heat and can burn for a long time. The use of charcoal briquettes from coconut shells will contribute to reducing dependence on firewood, LPG gas and kerosene, the availability of which is running low and cannot be renewed, especially for communities in several Sungailiat areas and at the same time can support the use of coconut shell waste as a material. burn.This research aims to design and build a Coconut Shell Charcoal Briquette Printing Machine with a capacity of 12kg/hour and design a maintenance system for the Coconut Shell Charcoal Briquette Printing Machine so that it is ready for use and extends its service life. The design method used in this research is Verein Deutsche Ingenieuer (VDI 2222).The results of research on the Coconut Charcoal Briquette Printing Machine using the VDI 2222 design method, namely printing Coconut Charcoal Briquettes with a length of 60cm and a capacity of 12kg/hour. The maintenance system on this machine uses planned maintenance and inspections for operators to carry out independent maintenance.
