Abstract

Artikel ini dilatarbelakangi oleh persoalan sampah, hampir menjadi permasalahan yang klasik di setiap kota di Indonesia, tak terkecuali di Kota Pekanbaru. Oleh karena itu, pengabdi UIN Suska Riau bekerjsama dengan Majelias Taklim Salimah Pekanbaru memberikan alternatif strategi dalam pengelolaan sampah dengan edukasi warga melalui pembentukan bank sampah yang diintegrasikan dengan prinsip 4R, dapat membangun kepedulian masyarakat agar dapat ‘berkawan dengan sampah, serta untuk mendapatkan manfaat secara sosial, ekonomi, dan lingkungan dari pemilahan sampah yang ditabung ke bank sampah. Program penyuluhan bank sampah ini fokus untuk ibu ibu rumah tangga karena ibu masyarakat kelurahan limbungan di Kecamatan Rumbai Pesisir Kota Pekanbaru Propinsi Riau. Pelaksanaan pengabdian ini dimulai dengan memberikan materi pengajaran kepada masyarakat agar mereka termotivasi untuk mampu memilah sampah rumah tangga dan bersama sama membentuk bank sampah sebagai sarana menyalurkan sampah. Adapun penyuluhan dengan materi tentang pentingnya mengelola sampah dengan bank sampah dan cara kerja bank sampah. Berdasarkan kajian tentang manajemen pengelolaan bank sampah di kecamatan Rumbai Pesisir dapat disimpulkan bahwa: 1) dalam upaya pelestarian lingkungan sungai, pihak berwenang, pemerintah daerah dan institusi/ organisasi sosial harus memberikan program yang kontinu, agar masyarakat lokal memiliki kesadaran tentang pentingnya memiliki kebiasaan yang baik dalam pengelolaan sampah secara efektif dan bijaksana; dan 2) dalam upaya pemberdayaan masyarakat, bank sampah menjadi salah satu alternatif dalam menciptakan peluang produktif bagi masyarakat untuk menambah pendapatan keluarga. ehadiran bank sampah telah mendorong adanya capacity building bagi warga dengan mengupayakan terbentuknya kemandirian dan keswadayaan warga melalui terbentuknya kesadaran, pengetahuan, dan kemampuan yang mendorong partisipasi mengelola lingkungan di komunitasnya. Khususnya bagi warga perempuan, pengetahuan dan keterampilan mengelola sampah telah menstimulasi kreativitas dan inovasi kerajinan daur ulang sampah.

Abstract

The role of women in the digital era has experienced a significant transformation, no longer limited to domestic responsibilities as housewives, but also extending to active participation in the professional sphere. An increasing number of women choose to pursue careers after marriage, which in some cases leads them to become the main breadwinners for their families. This phenomenon challenges the conventional view that men are the sole heads of families and opens discourse on the redefinition of family leadership. This study aims to explore the meaning of being the head of the family for working women in Pekanbaru who either act as the main financial provider or earn a higher income than their husbands. Employing a phenomenological approach, this research involved ten female informants who shared their lived experiences. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analysed using Colaizi’s method to identify core themes. The findings reveal that there is a noticeable shift in the understanding of family headship among these women. For those who serve as the primary providers, the concept of “head of the family” is interpreted not merely as a legal or formal title, but as a functional and relational responsibility encompassing economic, emotional, and social dimensions. The meaning of leadership in the family is thus redefined through practical roles and cooperation between spouses rather than rigid gender hierarchy. This study concludes that the redefinition of family headship among working women in Pekanbaru reflects a contextual interpretation of Islamic values, where leadership in the household is viewed as a shared responsibility based on capability and contribution rather than gender alone.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the definition of educators and how the position, role, and characteristics of educators are from the perspective of hadith, as well as these values when implemented in the context of modern Islamic education. The hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) provides the basis that educators not only provide knowledge, but also moral examples, spiritual guides, and central figures who determine the achievement of educational goals. The research method used is qualitative with a library research approach through a review of hadith literature and relevant secondary sources. Data were analyzed descriptively and analytically with an emphasis on understanding the meaning of hadith related to the role of educators. The results of the study show that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has exemplified the role of ideal educators through compassion, patience, exemplary behavior, and sincerity in teaching. The hadiths that touch on the position of teachers emphasize that educators have a noble position because they are intermediaries of knowledge and shape morals, thus being able to produce a generation of Muslims who are knowledgeable, moral, and responsible.
