Abstract

The proposal aims to bring an accessible, time efficient, and secure design of Tugu Train Station in Yogyakarta City. Yogyakarta happens to be located strategically on the main routes of Java. It is one of the reasons why the city becomes a tourist destination, both domestic and international. Tugu Train Station manages to reach passengers number increase by 10-17% annually. The train station has a good prospect to be developed into a multifunctional train station. The design proposal rises some problems: designing exterior spaces which directs users to the site, interior spaces which makes users navigate easily, and a seamless, time efficient, and clear movement flow from the site to the building. The implementation of wayfinding method is based on post-occupancy evaluation of the existing compound in which confusing building layout creates difficulties in mobility for the passengers. Wayfinding method focuses on spatial organisation, movement flow organisation, and signage placement. This design proposal would expand existing train station buildings to provide more rooms in the anticipation of passenger increase for year to come; as well as to build new public facilities. Furthermore, the implementation of wayfinding method is expected to create an accessible, time efficient, and secure layout which in turn caters various types of passenger.

Abstract

The design of Sleman Agricultural Vocational High School (SMK Pertanian Sleman) with the approach of ecological architecture is motivated by three things : the existence of agricultural potential in Sleman, the prospect of Agricultural Vocational School in Sleman, and the need to apply ecological architecture on buildings constructed in predominantly agricultural area. SMK Pertanian Sleman aims to educate the community in the surrounding area, create innovations, and aplace to learn modern agriculture. The method used is architectural design that combines the ecological architecture essence according to Heinz Frick, Wanda Widigdo, and V.A. Metallinaou which is combined with ecological architectural components according to Ken Yeang. The result is the design of educational facility which includesclassrooms, laboratories, mini market where students can sell their agricultre product, and other support rooms.  Keywords: school of agriculture, ecological architecture, Sleman

Abstract

This paper discusses a land management strategy that applies agritourism in BUMDes land in Puntukrejo Village, Karanganyar Regency. An appropriate planning strategy is necessary to manage the village's agricultural potencies supported by topographic beauty, cool microclimate, and various well-known products. This village also has BUMDes relatively wide land assets but is not utilized properly. The agritourism applied in land assets usage is expected to increase rural tourism visits by exposing agricultural activities. The case study method is used in this process because it has suitability, especially in researching a strategy to obtain answers to the question "how" and its argument "why." The analysis process is done descriptively qualitatively. The study identifies community activities and village potencies for determining various tourism activities and resolves land-use allocation. The result is applying agritourism that utilizes the attractiveness of agriculture by displaying the potential of fertility and natural beauty and supporting leading agricultural commodities, facilities, and harmony by equipping supporting facilities for the convenience of visitors supporting infrastructure by providing unique icons.

A well-designed space can increase motivation, expand creative tempo, entertains and inspires. Creative space should provide attention, stimulation and focus. To achieve such characteristics, Organic Architecture is considered as the right design approach. Organic Architecture principals are used in designing strategy, such as in site analysis, spatial analysis, mass organization, mass transformation and façade programming. Analytical process applying Organic Architecture principals produces the design of creative hub building that optimizes the creative process.

Abstract

Abstract: Gili Iyang Island has high oxygen level potential which is more than 20% with lower pollution percentage compared to other regions in Indonesia. The result of oxygen in Gilli Iyang Island was done by LAPAN in 2006 and BBTKL-PP in 2013. It reached 20,9% up to 21,5%. The oxygen level affects Gili Iyang Island becoming tourist destination to take oxygen therapy. However, the activity isn’t supported by adequate facilities, so that an oxygen therapy center is necessary to meet those needs. The design proposal rises a problem is designing a healthy oxygen therapy facility that hold the local natural circumstance. Environmental issues in Gili Iyang Island which is still pure and healthy responded by Green Building concept application in Oxygen Therapy Center. The Oxygen Therapy Center focusing on the application of green building concept to respond the environmental issue of Gili Iyang Island.
