Abstract

This study aims to produce a direct learning model with a life-based learning approach that is feasible, practical, and effective to improve the learning outcomes of students at Morris Sidoarjo. This research method uses the Dick and Carey development model with the one-group pretest-posttest design research design. The data collection process was carried out using observation, questionnaires, and giving tests to students. The research instruments obtained were student activity questionnaires, student response questionnaires, learning observation sheets, and student learning outcomes tests. The sample of this research is 20 students at the Morris Sidoarjo course. The research indicated that the direct learning model with a life-based learning approach was practical in its use to improve course participants' learning outcomes at Morris Sidoarjo in the Yogyakarta, which was shown by the excellent category of learning and activity of students. Second, the direct learning model with a life-based learning approach is effective in improving the learning outcomes of course participants at Morris Sidoarjo in the Yogyakarta, which is shown by the results of the calculation of the N-Gain test showing an increase in learning outcomes with a value of 0.8 in the high category. From these results, the model built with a life-based learning approach can be implied as an alternative and reference for developing learning models in course institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a multicultural learning model for Primary Teacher Education as well as learning strategies, materials, media, and manual lectures based on the modified model (MPI). The research was carried out from March 2018 to April 2019 and took place at the primary education laboratory of the Education office of East Lombok. The results of the research were based on the evaluation. First of all, the evaluation from the experts' review stated that the developed model was ready to be used for testing after it was improved based on experts’ input, secondly, the evaluation was based on one-on-one test, small-group test, and field test. There were 60 respondents involved and the validity of the data was taken by using data triangulation techniques. The results of this research showed that learning activities in the classroom become more interesting, systematic, so that students were easy to understand it. The use of video within the activities became more attractive for students because it suits the situation they face, as well as helping them easier to understand the materials. Evaluation tools were relevant to the material, so students can think critically and reflectively. The developed modules were easy to understand, and the independent learning activities contained in the modules can be followed so that the learning objectives were achieved. The lecturer guide was very helpful for lecturers in implementing multicultural education in the classroom setting.

Abstract

This study is aimed at developing a management model of web-based instructional materials that can be used by teachers to obtain teaching materials, knowledge sharing and discussions in order to improve their professional competence. This research used Borg and Gall’s theory, 4-D Model and Development Model Prototyping. The results revealed that based on the judgement of expert of educational technology, expert of web design, and expert of information systems, the model fits to be applied. The results from individual evaluation, small group test, and field test showed that 84, 00% of the web-based module can be used well. Furthermore, the results of the expert evaluation and field test indicate that the webbased module can be used by Indonesian teachers either individually or in groups and it is very helpful for learning activities
