Abstract

Gas stations are public facilities crucial for motorists. Mobile applications installed in smartphones such as GPS and integrated internet connection can help motorists  find the nearest gas station in a fast and easy way. Mobile application used in this research is based on Android platform considering the android’s popularity. This application can be employed to locate the gas station  around its user’s location and to navigate them to the nearest one. Finding out the nearest location route can minimize the risk of running out of fuel. Users can also maximize the use of smartphone by using this application. A series of steps taken in this research include literature study, observation, flowchart design, Unified Modeling Language (UML), and interface and database design. Abstract

The development of information technology and the telecommunications quite fast. Their implementation has cleared away to many sectors. One of the implementation that very prominent was Short Message Service (SMS). With his superiority, the SMS showed a system that could control and monitor access from an application, including inside the function to shutdown from one or several computers. The computer’s data that used SMS Gateway will send and show in the website, that played a role as server. Abstract

Implementation of routing protocol in a network enable router to dynamically exchange information about network condition. The goal of this research is to analyze and compare performance between RIP (Routing Information Protocol) as a distance vector routing protocol and OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) as a link state routing protocol. This research use topology with six router and four parameter of QoS (Quality of Service), that is delay, jitter, packet loss, and throughput, to performance assessment. Network simulator software and AWK used to get the value of the QoS’s parameter and to verify the result of the implementation. The result of the research show that for overall, OSPF give better performance than RIP although OSPF seem to need longer time and bigger throughput for the initialization process. The kind of fit routing protocol use in a network is depend on number and spesification of the router and topology used. At the end, can be conclude that its better to doing the simulation before the implementation process. From the simulation we can know about the performance of routing protocol used. Keywords: RIP, OSPF, simulator, performance, QoS.

Abstract

Unappropriate in bandwidth scheduling making some effect with internet café’s performance. Lack of bandwidth can slowndown response time for internet. This condition absolutely contradict with user needs. Squid proxy server is one of solutions to keep internet access stability. We can configure proxy server to scheduling bandwidth depend with client’s rush hour, blocking harmful website, and accelerate access from client to frequently visited website. The experiment result show significant difference access time to a website from client that using proxy server and client without using proxy server. The experiment also shows that with scheduling bandwidth, client of intenet café get bandwidth correspond with their needs.  Keywords:  scheduling, bandwidth, squid proxy server, blocking, access time, website.

Abstract

Deficiency of vitamin and mineral as part of micronutrient deficiency may lower human productivity. In general, lack of public understanding about micronutrient, limited number of nutritionist, time and cost, became the reason for people reluctant to meet nutritionist. The use of web-based computer application can be implemented to overcome the difficulty to get nutritionist’s services. Using the application, user can detect and check their micronutrient condition independently. User can submit their physical condition by answering questions from the application. Using forward chaining inference, data from user will be proceed using certainty factor method. The application’s output are the possible type of micronutrient’s deficiency and the weight that shown the level of confidence of the result. The evaluation process shown that the application functioning properly in line with the expectation. Beside helping people to make early detection independenly, the presence of the application is also expected to increase public awareness about the importance of micronutrient in their life.

Abstract

This research aimed to make the application to detect stress for the college students. By early detecting stress on college students, it could help them to cope with their stress and avoid the negative impact of the stress. The Holmes-Rahe Readjustment Rating Scale was used to detect stress based on student’s life events. Each event had its score. There were 31 questions provided by the system. The final score would conclude the stress categories. Using the Forward Chaining Inference Engine, the system would collect the fact of the student’s life and give the result by accumulating scores on questions posed to the users from every question. The system also provided the reminder feature that led to continuous monitoring of stress condition in the students. About 65 correspondents who were selected using random sampling were asked to fill out questionnaires regarding this system after they tried the application. With the continuous monitoring, the researchers find that this system gives a result that all users have decreased their score of stress levels. Moreover, the correspondents rate that the design of the application is good enough, and the system is interesting and useful for helping students to provide a solution for stress.

Abstract

Knowledge about suitability of the land and the plants can minimalize harvest plant problem. The spread of information technology and digital era also change the ways to explain and distribute information and knowledge used for recognize land suitability, with the creation of expert system. Process to recognize land suitability in this system using 19 parameter included physical and chemistry characteristics, and also nature factors such as temperature and rain fall. For all of these parameters, there are 2 complementary parameters to replace data about tekstur, drainase, and slope. Object in this research are 14 kinds of food plants. This system using Fuzzy Inference Systems (FIS) method for processing data. User can choose trapesium or Gauss function for fuzzificy the data. Based on actual values of the land, this system will determine the suitability of the land for food plants and for specific kinds of food plants. This system also determines about limitation factors for the land and gives some managerial suggestion for handling those factors. The results of this system also included about plants grow requirement and suitability location on 2 districts at East Java Province. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia: Pengetahuan para pelaksana pertanian dalam menentukan kesesuaian lahan dengan jenis tanaman yang akan ditanam tentunya akan dapat meminimalisasikan berbagai permasalahan panen yang dapat terjadi. Perubahan yang terjadi dalam bidang teknologi informasi dan era digital, juga telah mendukung dan merubah cara penyebaran informasi dan pengetahuan, antara lain melalui penggunaan sistem pakar. Sistem pakar ini menggunakan 19 parameter, termasuk parameter fisik dan kimia, serta faktor alam seperti suhu dan curah hujan, dalam menentukan kesesuaian lahan. Di antara seluruh parameter yang digunakan, terdapat 2 parameter pengganti yang dapat digunakan untuk menggantikan parameter tekstur, drainase, dan lereng. Objek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi 14 jenis tanaman pangan. Metode yang digunakan adalah Fuzzy Inference Systems (FIS), dimana pengguna dapat memilih jenis fungsi trapesium atau gauss yang akan digunakan untuk memproses data. Berdasarkan data aktual, sistem ini akan menentukan tingkat kesesuaian lahan yang akan digunakan oleh suatu jenis tanaman, berikut dengan faktor penghambat yang ada serta saran manajerial yang dapat diterapkan untuk mengatasi keberadaan faktor penghambat, dan lokasi yang sesuai untuk suatu jenis tanaman tertentu. Penentuan lokasi terbatas pada 2 propinsi di Jawa Timur. Kata kunci: kesesuaian lahan, fuzzy inference systems, system pakar.

Abstract

We propose an application that can support traders by providing recommendation about the right stock transaction. The expected impact from this application is to reduce the risk of loss, even achieve the maximum profit for traders who use this application. Recommendation that resulted by application is based on Bayesian methods calculation and four technical analysis indicators that most commonly used by stock experts, i.e. Bollinger Bands, Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD), Relative Strength Index (RSI), and Stochastic Oscillator. Methodology used in this paper consists of data collection, data analysisa, application design, implementation, and testing. From the results of application testing, the accuracy of the application is 87,37%.
